I'd rather we'd kept Christie and £1M in the bank than sign Wisdom.

I see that the pitch was up to its normal mid season standard then.?

I know we all want new and exciting players but by my fag-packet economics we have reduced the wage bill by about 40% over the summer and we look far better than last season (admittedly that's not a massive achievment). Our wage bill is probably for the first time since GSE close to being sustainable in being covered by income.
Given the desire for more players and with nobody willing to fund it, are we all not asking for what Mel has just done i.e. run up debts in a push for improvement?

I can't recall the planned capacity, but I seem to recall that the main part of the new main stand was going to be built behind the existing one, during the season, without closing the old stand. Then during the close season, the old one was to be demolished and the front of the new one completed.

Those plans were very serious, PP was very much an 11th hour change of plan. So much so that I remember that there were survey markings on Shaftesbury Crescent indicating where the structural pillars were going to be put for the new main stand, which was planned to be built just behind the old A B C stand.

I remember the good old days at the BBG, simple things, like being able to go to the ticket office and but a ticket.
Seriously though, I remember one game, when I didn't have a season ticket because of my job at the time, getting to the ground only to find a massive queues at the ticket office. So I went to the nearest phone box, phoned the ticket office and bought one, for collection at the ground, which didn't have a queue.
Happy days.

It's so short sighted of the club not to man the ticket office. The annual cost of a few employees would have been met in extra ticket sales in the first game alone.

Regarding the Fozzy incident, I believe that it was accidental.
Let's look at the player's character, he's being at the club for many years and I can't recall him ever losing it and being aggressive to another player, in fact, sometimes I wish he'd show a bit more. Nor was this incident preceded by another incident, to which he could feel aggrieved and to lose it for a moment.
Only he would know whether there was any intention, but for an ex team mate, Bent, to call him out, I'm disgusted with that.

I don't think that anyone has mentioned the pull on Stretton for their goal. He swung a leg at the ball, but was pulled back and missed it completely.
I think VAR would have given us 2 penalties and disallowed their goal. The Fozzy incident would be questionable, in his defence, he was falling backwards and not looking where his feet were.

I'm not sure that this is the case, I think that Rooney is reluctant to play these players, in the hope that he can get rid of Marshall and sign someone else. If he were to play Cashin, this wouldn't be possible. I think that after Tuesday, he will be able to play anyone at the club.

I don't think they consciously have an agenda against us, but I am sure that they read the media comments about us, just like other clubs do.
Therefore I think they assume there's something not quite acceptable about Derby and are therefore disinclined to give us any assistance on the pitch.
