I don't think any media outlet should be applauded for publishing factually incorrect information.
They have not really forced the issue, they have forced someone to have to come out and defend themselves against their made up story, and in the meantime many fans have now decided this guy is a 'chancer' on the back of this story.

    Agreed.
In the example shown in this thread the guy didn't just question why radio Derby hadn't got this interview, I'm sure the reply would've been far more civil if he did, but specifically called out Dawes and his colleagues for "poor journalism". I don't care who you are, if you choose to frame a question in this aggressive manner you'll likely receive a reply in kind.

Can understand Ed Dawes reacting the way he did when he and his radio Derby colleagues are being completely trashed publicly and unfairly

Did these people not listen to the interview or did they just not understand what was being said?
My take on it was that he wants the loan from MSD transferring from Gellaw to him personally (or whatever vehicle he is buying the club in) that way, rather than using the money to clear the MSD loan it can be used for funding the club instead.
I am not sure how that equates to a leveraged buyout?

If Stan Collymore was correct why did he delete the tweet? I suspect because it is complete BS.

He seems a young cocky and frontline owner. He’s said he’s moving him and his family to Derby and will run the club first hand. His attitude to me sounds like he’s very smart and has big plans for us. Think like the leeds chairman. He’s class and pulled off some master strokes. I have full confidence if Erik comes in

Simon Jordan  has no problem shooting from the hip and upsetting whoever’s in his crosshairs along the way.
Both him and Jim White have torn clubs and owners to shreds in the past, particularly in the cases of Bolton / Wigan and Blackpool.
I take a lot of comfort from him providing a positive spin on this takeover and adding weight that Alonso has the financial means to buy the club and keep it going. If he thought this was dodgy or that Alonso wasn’t credible, he’d be absolutely trashing both him and the club, no doubt about it.
I also think it’s fantastic that Talksport are able to quickly go to source on any rumours by calling Alonso out to answer the allegations being made.
Fair play to both Simon Jordan and Jim White.

Only way this won’t happen is if the EFL block it. With Trevor Birch overseeing the process if this is dodgy he will discover it and block it. If he doesn’t then it’s legit and we move on. The snippets of the Alonso interview seem logical and reasonable. Makes sense.

The unknown is he’s a foreign owner with no connection to the club and we don’t know his backers or their intentions, but they are not buying the club for £3 as it’s going into administration a la 3 amigos.

As for Simon Jordan. He’s been quite vocal on this a few times now in a positive way about Alonso. He reckons he has a very reliable source, he risks making himself look a complete plank if he turns dodgy so he’s not going to share that opinion lightly unless he knows something.

I have a warmer feeling than I did first thing this morning, but we are not ploughing into administration, the takeover is still ahead the ONLY concern right now is Saturday.

I wrote my comment because I think posters need to recognise that not everyone has the same capacity as them.
I think that the general tone of the Forum recently is greatly influenced by a few posters who are not only aware of their effect on others but take a certain delight in doing so. If I had my way, I would have removed them long ago but we have to tolerate all opinions. I have made a lousy moderator for this reason.
Now if you disagree with my assessment,  that's fine, but I find the forum a depressing place to be in recent months not because of the football but because of certain posters piling in with rhetoric that is not considered or balanced. I know from the circle of people that I speak to face to face, that they are discouraged from posting because of this. Me too. Now some would say that's no great loss and I would agree!
What I am saying is that if the Forum makes me feel like this, then it must make others likewise. I have spoken privately with people who think the club is going into administration because they have read it on here and that this will be the end of their club for ever.
They read and are affected by hysteria. That's what I think it is. I don't think it's healthy and I am trying to point that out. Maybe the problem is mine.

Negative ebitda in recent years implies significant negative cashflow at club level, obviously.  I guess this has been funded by the stadium company paying down the interco balance arising from the stadium sale. The stadium co has financed itself I think from the external borrowings, some of which have been guaranteed by our much maligned benefactor, MM

Brief overview of what was said.

    - Not true he’s pulling out, it’s going ahead
    - Not refinancing stadium, wants it put in his name so he can use it to buy players
    - If relegated he still wants it go through.

    Simon Jordan -
    — Erik Alonso has significant financial means
    - Switching debt from club to Alonso makes sense, it frees up cast to buy players
    - Doesn’t think there’s any worry, other than winning Saturday
    - If he was in Alonso’s position he would renegotiate if relegated, he agreed a price for a championship club not a league one.
