People would imply more than one person? Surely not.

And, then the thread took an unexpected turn.
But, how could we not react?
And, perhaps it is in such unexpected moments - when talking about football - that people share things that are normally kept private - but which have the potential to help and inform others.
And, then, in my own case, I was surprised by the response. It was kind and humbling. Thank you! How supportive have members been!
And what I also liked, was seeing a positive reaction to terrible heartbreak - and it being expressed in terms of victory on Saturday!
The power of the Ram! May it carry us across the line on Saturday!

    Agree with every word.
I'd eat humble pie all day every day if Rooney is a long term success at Derby.

    This in abundance.
Right now I very much want him gone whatever happens. But, if he's here next season, I'll be hoping for him to succeed. I want every match to be the start of a never ending golden age.

People are saying he deserves financial backing. People are saying he deserves a transfer window. People are saying he deserves his own hand-picked coaching team.
If it had been a closely contested battle all the way down to the last day, I could understand this point.
If Rotherham and Wednesday had produced incredible form to keep us in danger, I could understand this point.
But it wasn’t always close. At the end of February, we were 9 points clear of Rotherham and 10 points clear of Wednesday. It’s down to 2 and 3 points respectively now.
But Rotherham and Wednesday haven’t produced incredible form. Wednesday have picked up 12 points in 13 games since. Rotherham have picked up 12 points in 14 games.
For us, it has been a capitulation of the highest order and any signs of optimism from Rooney’s early tenure have vanished faster than a burger from my plate.
And some of us want to reward Rooney with more time in the job? I can’t believe what I am reading.

There is minimal difference there. Minimal. Bogle for Byrne is comparable, Lowe for Buchanan is too. Malone likely wouldn't have played for us, Jozefzoon and Marriott the same. Rooney chose to sell Holmes and Evans. Huddlestone and Rooney himself were both incredibly washed up by the end of the season.
Realistically, we side graded on fullbacks, offloaded 5 deadwood players, 2 players that were on the way out retired and Davies got injured and Martin left. And then we brought in a better keeper, and let Rooney sign 5 players on loan as well as getting Jozwiak.

I am not even sure that the debt is on the club in the first place.
Total guesswork but I would imagine the debt is with the Gellaw company that owns the ground and then this money was loaned to the club by Gellaw to cover cash flow and consequently reduced the £75m owed to the club. ONCE AGAIN I STRESS THIS IS PURE GUESSWORK, IS NOT BACKED UP BY ANY FACTUAL EVIDENCE! But it would seem the logical thing to do.
If this is how things have been structured, then Alonso (or what ever entity is purchasing the ground) would simply step into the shoes of the Gellaw company in owning the ground but also being responsible for the loans secured against it.

Nah, why would they do that, the hearsay and rumour mongering from that frequently wrong dirtrag is much more reputable than the guy actually coming on radio and talking about it and telling us what's happening....
I don't know why he bothered no one will believe him, it says volumes on here that the report comes out, the guy comes on to rubbish it and people moan that he is actually saying something and not keeping quiet cos 'thats what he said'

I don't think any media outlet should be applauded for publishing factually incorrect information.
They have not really forced the issue, they have forced someone to have to come out and defend themselves against their made up story, and in the meantime many fans have now decided this guy is a 'chancer' on the back of this story.

    Agreed.
In the example shown in this thread the guy didn't just question why radio Derby hadn't got this interview, I'm sure the reply would've been far more civil if he did, but specifically called out Dawes and his colleagues for "poor journalism". I don't care who you are, if you choose to frame a question in this aggressive manner you'll likely receive a reply in kind.

Can understand Ed Dawes reacting the way he did when he and his radio Derby colleagues are being completely trashed publicly and unfairly

Did these people not listen to the interview or did they just not understand what was being said?
My take on it was that he wants the loan from MSD transferring from Gellaw to him personally (or whatever vehicle he is buying the club in) that way, rather than using the money to clear the MSD loan it can be used for funding the club instead.
I am not sure how that equates to a leveraged buyout?

He seems a young cocky and frontline owner. He’s said he’s moving him and his family to Derby and will run the club first hand. His attitude to me sounds like he’s very smart and has big plans for us. Think like the leeds chairman. He’s class and pulled off some master strokes. I have full confidence if Erik comes in

Simon Jordan  has no problem shooting from the hip and upsetting whoever’s in his crosshairs along the way.
Both him and Jim White have torn clubs and owners to shreds in the past, particularly in the cases of Bolton / Wigan and Blackpool.
I take a lot of comfort from him providing a positive spin on this takeover and adding weight that Alonso has the financial means to buy the club and keep it going. If he thought this was dodgy or that Alonso wasn’t credible, he’d be absolutely trashing both him and the club, no doubt about it.
I also think it’s fantastic that Talksport are able to quickly go to source on any rumours by calling Alonso out to answer the allegations being made.
Fair play to both Simon Jordan and Jim White.
