Err that would be an entirely new case, if it were to happen.
For which we'd have mitigation given the EFL left it years before challenging our amortisation policy.

Anyone else getting a bit of passive-aggressive DC-on-LAP action from this paragraph:

Just missing some sarcastic air-quotes around "the LAP has found".

I don’t *think* there’s actually any risk in appealing (other than cost of lawyers etc) - it’s not like a red card where you can get an extra match for a frivolous appeal. The written reasons are very, very clear in why they think a points deduction isn’t appropriate in this case, and I doubt even the most stupid of appeals for us would change that. The reasons are also quite frank about there being no precedent for a fine in this kind of case, so it was almost a case of plucking a number out of the air, so that’s your angle of attack for an appeal. But I suspect it’s not worth it purely because it’s unlikely to succeed and would probably cost us more that we would save on a reduced fine.

Delighted for Derby County. The idea of any points deduction, let alone a retrospective one, was a nonsense in the circumstances. The full written reasons of the DC make clear why any points deduction would be wholly disproportionate and I urge anyone interested to read them.

Load of subjective nonsense. From your own carefully selected texts...
"We accept that the club has at no time sought to mislead the EFL"
"In all other respects (bar the one line in our accounts describing out amortisation policy) we accept that the club has acted with candour and transparency in its dealings with the EFL"
If these appear damning condemnations, rather than mealy-mouthed excuses for their inept handling of the investigations and subsequent appeals, then fair enough, but we'll have to agree to disagree. It was openly accepted that the EFL failed to understand the methodology used and the terminology that described it. Somehow, that has morphed, in the minds of some, into some carefully orchestrated campaign to hoodwink the EFL.
The focus should not now be further baseless accusations levelled at a club who have been driven to the brink, but rather on the astounding lack of professionalism displayed by a sporting body who have shown themselves to be both hugely hypocritical and vindictive in equal measures. If their board had an ounce of self-respect, then resignations would be being submitted as we speak, yet despite this pointless and ultimately fruitless campaign against the club, their noses will remain firmly in the trough.
Frankly, I think the club have remained remarkably dignified in the their conduct over the course of the last 18 months, certainly when compared to the EFL, Gibson and that utter gobshite of an owner at Wycombe.

For them to use the word regrettably when their own legal counsel told them there are no grounds for appeal is ducking outrageous, unprofessional and proves they are out to get us based on some twits opinion rather than cold hard evidence.

Why will administration be right round the corner?
The only person /persons that can put the club into administration is Mel Morris, why would he do that?
He would lose all of his investment if he did that, and as I understand it the rams are paying their bills as they fall due.
I believe that 90% of the posters on here do not understand anything about administration/insolvency.

Take this as it's meant, this has come via two pretty influential figures in DCFC history over the past 30 years, not claiming to be ITK and am just repeating what I've been told from sources that I rate highly.
Been told today that it is a Washington DC based consortium/investors that are behind the bid for the club, knew Rooney when he played for DC United, and are just waiting to see which division we are in next season, it's expected to be the Championship.  Led to believe that one of the investors is an agent.
IF we are relegated then Rooney walks, that is not thought to be expected though.
All ready to go and waiting on the EFL appeal and conformation of Championship status.

No idea of money to spend, but given the past few years spending then maybe that doesn't really matter and frugality could be the key.

    Cox is an interesting comparison
"He arrived at the Baseball Ground, asked Roy McFarland to be his assistant, and found only 12 players, of which nine were under contract. Undaunted by the scale of the task, he began to build and Derby moved from the High Court to the First Division in just over three years."

£750k in this transfer window should get a lot more than Ikpeazu, especially with all the free agents in the market.
