Didn’t realize about Osborn, but with Small I said he has 1 year left and I did read that charltons chairman or head of football said a few months ago if Thierry (small) doesn’t sign a new contract we will trigger his extension and then hinted at selling him. Id be very surprised if he stays at Charlton this summer.

If he ends up out of our price range now and Spurs are in for him ideal scenario would be a loan to us.

Hourihanes wages would take up a significant amount of the budget. Releasing him to offload those wages would be more beneficial. Same goes to waggy and sadly fozzy.

Can't imagine he'd be on a crazy wage if it was under our restrictions? Agree sadly with Waggy and Foz too injury prone.

The administration was terrible at the time but will prove to be one of the best things that could’ve happened to the club.

Agree with this, it's brought everyone back together in a weird kind of way too. I remember a few games under the MM era where fans were falling out with eachother when things weren't going our way, some almost becoming entitled thinking we should walk everything because of money. The few games I managed to get to last season were the most enjoyable in terms of atmosphere I've had in years.

    Similar rumour about Hourihane...

I wouldn't mind this if he's coming on with 15/20 to play his corners alone could get us some valuable points throughout the season, if he's got a couple of runners behind him and he doesn't have to track back so much all good.

  5. I'm really excited to see what PW can do for us back in the champ with no restrictions. If you're a Prem manager with a potential young gem, PW is just the man you'd want to send them out on loan to. How he is as a person and a manager, the togetherness he's created with our team, add into that our facilities and attendances we'll attract some good young players this summer.

I think loan him out to a league one club (where its more physical) and access where he is in January. The rumour that we're looking at clarke harris. i think jch , gayle , collins will be a very good strike force for the champ. I'd sell or get rid of  waghorn and washington

If those were our 3 main strikers next season I'd 100% keep him as an impact sub, we'd need some pace up there too.

Can someone, anyone, post a link, a trustworthy one, that categorically states that JW has turned down an offer?

It was more than likely let me see what division we're in before I commit to anything rather than turning it down, fairly confident he'll sign now.

Personally these would be the first players I’d sign or go after. I think we need the following:

    x1 GK

    x1 LB

    x1 CB

    x1 CDM

    x2 CM

    x1 W on right

    x2 CF

    plus

    re sign

    Sibley

    Thompson

    wildsmith

    Barks

    Collins

    Ebou

Johansson- GK - Rotherham- played under Warne very good goalie if Wildsmith leaves

Helik - Huddersfield  CB 9 goals from CB

    Sorba Thomas - Huddersfield 9 assists 4 goals W

    Burrows - Peterborough Free LB

Randall - Peterborough 10 goals and 7 assists CM - fee

Kane - Barnsley CM - free 9 goals 5 assists

Campbell - Stoke Free CF - still only 24 could rebuild career here

Langstaff - Notts County CF  fee I’d imagine anywhere between £700k- 1.5M might be out of budget but definitely has potential

We'll deffo need some goal scoring CMs to help chip in throughout the season Bird and Hourihane had 11 between them this year. A goal scoring CB like mentioned would be great too especially if we can continue our good set plays into the champ.

It's tactics. I said it would be a risk for any manager wanting to use him differently than he's played at Rotherham since joining him. Signing any player who is used to playing one way and asking him to play another way will always be a risk.

Ah get you, maybe he can teach Wildsmith some long distribution then 😂 Personally think if Wildsmith can sort that out he'd be a top end championship keeper.

Johansson is a fantastic shot stopper. Some would argue the best in the league. However, any side wanting to play out from the back or even 'mix it up' would be taking a risk. This season, only 1 in 5 passes is played short, and 1 in 6 last season. For comparison, Wildsmith and Vickers go short 40-50% of the time.

Is that down to management rather than player though, surely it's tactics why he's choosing to go long?
