Prefer to sign Barkhuizen and have Ebiowei come back on loan. Or is that too simple?

What part of his personality has made you draw that conclusion. He was released by his previous 2 clubs. He didn't choose to leave, he was told he wasn't good enough and told to leave.
Why bling? Where has that come from? Or are we a sun journalist writing about Sterling?

He's a London lad who's family, and probably most of his friends, are still based there.
Whilst I'd love him to stay you can't knock the lad if he goes to Palace, never mind the fact it's a PL club who will be offering him a bigger wage.
I view it the same as I did with Plange, we signed them both on frees less than a year ago, if we get another £1m by tribunal out of an Ebiowei transfer then I'm not really sure we should be complaining, it's not like he's a player developed for years by our own Academy.

Think we'll have to agree to disagree but interesting take on things.
I would argue it is televised football that is in decline, not live football. The appeal of Man City v Spurs (to take your example) is not the same as it would've been 20/30 years ago...no novelty & people tend to half watch. Of course there is no competition for Saturday 3pm kick offs which is when we will largely be playing.
Going to the match meanwhile is a social thing & a being 'part of the experience' thing. Questions of quality not that relevant therefore but think you might be surprised by the quality in League One compared to the Championship, it isn't that different. We'll be there to support Derby though & how we play is most important. Given the trauma of the last 2 years, I dont think we massively care who we play...that may change in time but not for next season.
Re season tickets, people will remember the fantastic atmospheres at PP this season & will want a part of that again. That had little to do with the opposition or even the quality of football...it was all about us. Suspect we will sell well although some will pick & choose matches as ever. Burton not really comparable being a club tenth of the size of Derby.
As to Crewton's point, a 15k average suggests some gates of 12/13k. I'd be astonished if we went that low. Games against Sheff Weds/Ipswich likely to attract 25k plus & away sides will bring plenty as they will see PP as a big day out. Expect full away allocations from likes of Port Vale, Lincoln & Bristol Rovers as well as the bigger sides.

DCFC1388 reacted to Crewton in Malcolm Ebiowei yeah? Gone to C Palace.
In the case of Plange and Ebiowei, you can't expect a young player to develop a strong sense of loyalty to a club they only joined last summer, when PL clubs come calling.
In the case of Ebosele, he had a dilemma : back in early February, it was touch and go as to whether we'd even survive as a club. We couldn't even offer him a contract. Then a Serie A club comes along offering a €1m signing on fee and a €0.5m pa contract, but you expect him to wait to see if Derby can pay him the same salary without that signing on fee? I think you're not being either fair or realistic.

DCFC1388 reacted to Ambitious in James Collins - Signed for 2 years
According to Nixon, Rooney is keen for us to add James Collins to our team for next season.
However, we need to strike a deal with Cardiff that is favourable on our finances. He found himself out of their team last year, but had a good reputation at Luton. He’s a scrappy type of player that generally doesn’t shirk a challenge. A good option for League One, for sure.

Alan nixon is making the right noises at the minute. He will have his ear firmly to the ground, especially with Cook and Stretford on the end of the phone.
Nixon says we are in for all sorts of players, when asked if we have a chance of promotion with the players we are linked with, his response was "ask me after the first dozen", so sounds like we are busy.
He also keeps saying there is absolutely nothing to worry about with the deal, it's done.
He has a story tomorrow about players, so will be interesting to see who we are linked with.
I've joked for what seems like 6 months now, but I honestly think this week could be a good one ?

Opened contract talks with Davies, according to Nixon’s Patreon.
Hoping to get an agreement next week.
Bristol City and Hull still both keen to sign him but it’s expected we’ll be allowed to sign players in the next few days when the takeover is finalised.

Contact has also been made with existing members of the squad and new players as we look to add and improve to key areas.

Who says he doesn’t have the funds to do it? Have we not learned anything from Mel morris tenure? It’s time for Derby county to be smart and sustainable. Kirchner is obviously looking it as, why spend 20M now he can use for the squad and running of the club to get us out of league one in a shorter time frame? If he spends 20M on the stadium it’s likely that majorly eats into budget. If month to month lease payments make sense in running the club sustainably, then it’s the right option and bring the stadium back under the club as and when we are in a much healthier position to do so.
Take me for example - I’ve got my phone on a monthly payment - I have the money in my bank right now to pay it off but I choose not to. Cause I’m being prudent that if my boiler breaks for example, I need cash aside to fix something like that immediately (Obvs it’s a lot more than a phone but you see my point).
Kirchner is 34 years old and is clearly a clever man to have got himself into a position to buy a football club for 10s of millions.
We need to be realistic, no billionaire was going to come in and pay all those debts and for the stadium at 50M plus for a league one club. It was never going to happen.
I get why people on here like yourself are sceptical and worried - after some of the failed takeovers but this is clearly very different. There’s been no journalist stories to suggest anything is wrong, CK has been open so far and nothing he’s said has come out as untrue, there’s been no EFL statement to say anything negative towards this takeover since CK came back in.

I've got no problem with people raising genuine concerns about Kirchner's bid, or being doggedly cynical about the whole process, but it would be helpful if they could at least take cognisance of information that casts doubt on their own theories. Reading the same speculation over and over again without a single scrap of evidence to back it up, is tedious, and I suspect that's what is getting allot of posters' backs up.

How do we know he hasn’t got the funds?  He had to prove he had a minimum £100M just to get through the door.  He’s had to prove to the EFL he can fund the club for a minimum of 2 years.
He’s a smart businessman.  He, with input from his team, will have worked out that it’s a better deal to lease the ground in the short-term, pay 35% of the debt over 3 years (during which period the club is generating income) and put a bit more into running the club.
He himself has said he was starting to fund the club from mid-May.  The difference between CK and the sheik is that noises were circulating with the sheik before the deal fell through - money not appearing, wages not being paid, etc.  No-one is coming out with anything like this.  Not the journalists, not Team Derby, not the EFL.  And I think the EFL is the important one.  With the deal going into next week and us being in administration they would have put something out there very quickly.  Every time it has got close to a deadline they were very vocal - things like still needed to see paperwork, proof of funds, no communication, etc.  All ahead of the next date that had been set.  This time its silent.  That is a good thing and tells me they aren’t worried.

The ground is being bought by David Clowes as far as I know and the deal is done.
The overall deal is  waiting for bank money clearance that’s all.

CK will have a clause in the lease to eventually buy the ground I would imagine.

MM owned club and ground and lol where that got us .

Didnt CK say the other day that everything was signed, so seems like its a case of the money hitting the accounts of everyone involved. 1 big transaction is difficult enough but there are multiple involved in this deal.
All involved seem relaxed about it so no reason we shouldnt be.
If there was anything to be worried about then I am sure there would be leaked reports about it by now.
As CK said, enjoy your weekend. I am sure it will be done early next week.

I hate Leeds as much as every Derby fan (possibly even more so having left Derby for West Yorkshire in 1987 and having lived amongst Leeds supporters ever since), but if they put in a serious offer, Knight would be mad to turn it down. He's exactly the kind of player the Leeds fans would take to, and it would increase his profile massively. I'd be upset to lose a player like him, but it's happened so many times over the years, and will always happen, to every club.
Plus the transfer money could be put to good use. We desperately need lots of players through the door, and a decent fee should fund a few incoming players.
Time for a new chapter everybody, we've just got to embrace it.
