DCFC1388 reacted to SSpurs1882 in Harvey White - signed on-loan for rest of the season
Hi lads, Spurs fan here!
I watch quite a lot of our u21 games so hopefully I can give a fair assessment of where he's at and what he might bring you.
He's a very versatile player, he mainly plays CM or DM but has filled in at LB (our u21s dont have a natural LB) a lot and played at LM. Conte even started him as a false 9 in place of Kane in our post-worldcup friendlies but before you get your hopes up he's not a natural striker! IMO like a lot of creative players his best role is possibly AM in a free role but he's not played there much recently because our u21 team has quite a lot of forwards to accommodate. He was loaned out to Pompey a couple of seasons ago and I believe the club have had loan offers for him pretty much every window since but they've been blocked by the club for various reason which has frustratingly stalled his development a bit. He's got great range of passing and not sure how many of them are on youtube but he's scored some unbelievable direct freekicks over the years in the youth teams. The youth coaches have said he's one of the smartest players they've coached and according to the Pompey manager when he was there he's very easy to coach, "You only have to tell him an instruction once. He's like a sponge and you'll tell him something once and then he'll be doing it. He's so easy to coach, a coach's dream."
Hopefully it all goes ahead and he does well for you and maybe he can go on loan again with you next season in the championship ?

DCFC1388 reacted to Kernow in Harvey White - signed on-loan for rest of the season
I’d imagine Warne wants a striker and a CM or RB.
If we can’t find a right back to suit, Smith stays there and we look for a midfielder. If we can’t find a midfielder, we sign a right back and Smith moves into midfield.

Surely one of the easiest players to get is Connor Wickham, not hooked up with anyone since leaving Forest Green. Got 9 goals in 20 games in all competitions. Sure he's 30 in March but that's still younger than Collins and McGoldrick Crucially he is free and not a child.

Darnell Fisher and lyle Taylor would be a good double from what has been rumoured

Don’t shoot the messenger but I’ve heard Lyle Taylor being mentioned again, on a permanent deal

The young lad West Ham put o upfront tonight, Divin Mubama, looks like the sort of player that would suit us. He was rapid, looked a physical presence and pressed from the front.

DCFC1388 reacted to FKANorwichExile in Chrissy Martin
Agreed. We were begging for someone who could hold the ball up and stay around the box. Every time NML looked up to cross tonight, Collins had gone out to pressure the channels. I don't see it happening because he's the opposite of a Warne player, but the wingers would create a bunch of chances for him.

DCFC1388 got a reaction from StarterForTen in Luke McGee - Goalkeeper on loan until end of season
The more I look into it the more I like this signing.
27 years old, plenty of experience at this level and been a regular this season too as well achieving promotion last season. On a free in the summer so if he impresses off the pitch then a good chance we sign him permanently.
Not sure there are too many other GKs we could have brought in, with the potential to sign permanently with this type of experience including this season.

I still think we will see a striker and potentially a keeper come in, as Warne has said, it all tends to happen towards the end of the window and its clear from his comments that clubs are now starting to take what they can to get rid so we can compete abit better.

DCFC1388 reacted to Keepyuppy in Luke McGee - Goalkeeper on loan until end of season
Clearly McGee for whatever reason wasn’t signing a new contract at FGR and they are probably looking to save money towards their pending relegation. Ferguson probably has a blank sheet to build his own side and just like Warne, wouldn’t want anyone aboard who doesn’t want to be there.
I would think that the reason it’s loan is to keep any permanent signing off this seasons Accounts and also gives Warne a few months to validate his thoughts on a permanent deal in the summer - we need cover now Anang has gone - it suggests this works for all parties for the time being.
