  1. Is anybody really looking forward to what the New Year holds? I for one am excited (along with some apprehension), as to what this really holds for us. New owners, staying in the Championship, new players and each match like a cup final, or further points deductions, no new owners, relegation and possibly liquidation. The last couple of days have made me more optimistic and I look forward even more so to support the team that I love. 2022 is going to be a major year in DCFC's history. I really believe we are on the cusp of something pretty damn good. UTR.

  2. Reach out I'll be there by the Four Tops is my all time favourite tune. Apologies if this has been mentioned before. The chorus certainly gets me going!!? Perhaps some wordsmiths could come up with suitable lyrics.Four Tops - Reach Out (I'll Be There) (1967) HD 0815007 - YouTube

  3. Was in London on Thursday and spoke to a couple of Rapid Vienna fans in town for the West Ham game. I wished them good luck and said I was a DCFC fan. Their response was 'ahhh Wayne Rooney coach. Minus 12 points. Good result yesterday 1 0'. If it wasn't for his name and status worldwide I don't think these fans from Austria would have known anything much about our club! Says it all really.

Seeing as 18 out of 24 clubs have players wage bills over 100% of their entire revenue, I’m holding out hope that other clubs will be deducted points too

I am with you Jram. There are going to be a few squeaky bums in other championship clubs over the next few months. I think our 'situation' is only the tip of the iceberg. Am not itk but I would assume we are not the only club. If I were fans of other clubs, especially those who are currently gloating, I wouldn't be so rooster sure that everything is rosy! I believe we will have  'mini league' of clubs with deductions given to them fighting to stay in this league.

  5. This match is by far the most important we have played for a few years (even more than the last home match last season against Wednesday). Win it we a) go into plus points (for the time being); b) we claw back hopefully some points from the teams above; c) reduce the gap between us and Reading, especially if they are going to be docked up to 9 points. On top of that we are gaining confidence. Another home game to come. If we win that it's 4 points showing. What with Cardiff starting to slip and possibly others in the EFL firing line with perhaps deductions being implemented, it might be the start of something interesting! COYR

  6. If you want to attend on Wednesday go, if you want to go on Saturday go. There will be possibly 1000s that are a bit 'well we will wait and see' and others that cannot due to work commitments, finance, time and now the petrol 'crisis'. Loads of DCFC fans travel great distances to come and see us play and I really admire them, all of them. They will be thinking about coming due to the lack of fuel at pumps. I don' t blame them if they don't. All I ask if there are still 'local' fans that are still undecided to come on the bus, carshare or just walk to PP because you may not get the opportunity in 6 months time if, and I really hope it doesn't, that the club folds. I will be there on Wednesday and Saturday as I live locally. We need all the help we can get. UTR!

  7. Reading are going to cop a points deduction (possibly as much as 9). If the EFL are looking at other teams in the Championship and, I bet they are not whiter than white when it comes to their 'accounting', there could be more teams that could be punished with points being deducted. We could be looking at four teams in a mini league at the bottom with the 'winner' of this staying up. Just a thought but it could happen!

We are going to get more points deducted, need to accept that we are going down unfortunately....

Still not going to throw the towel in yet. The next six games  results will determine our season. Win three or four of them and we will be catching up. Lose most of them and its definitely 1st division for us. It also depends on when these next points deductions are allocated. The later they are allocated I believe the better it is psychologically for us. With a minus sign in front of our points total it's going to be harder than if we could amass sufficient plus points to negate this. The team needs us more than ever before. I have not given up. Call it blind faith afterall look what happened to Leicester when they won the league. They were written off and pulled through. History could repeat itself in that a club written off by most of its critics and a few fans could and it is a faint hope but could (with a bit of good luck)actual survive and stay up in this league. UTR.

  9. I think that a lot depends on Saturday's performance. If the team give 100 per cent and can come away with something then fans who are maybe unsure about going to the Reading game should be there with renewed optimism. Lose heavily or an abject performance will not swell the ranks on Wednesday by much. Either way I will be excited to see anything over 25000 +.  Anything towards the 28000 mark would show the EFL that they really do need us to survive to showcase hopefully (and I mean hopefully) their precious Championship! UTR

  10. I haven't looked at the accounts as a) I am not an accountant and b) I really cannot be bothered. To a common layman I find that the figures being banded around doesn't seem to add up. If the wage bill is £40 million per annum, as widely stated, then over the tenure of Mel this adds up to about £160m. Okay managers have come and gone and, also with Keogh etc.. but would that add up to another £40m. The day to day running Mel says is between £1.3m to £1.5 m per week. If you take the higher figure then that annual amount is around £78m. So we have to pay ongoing running costs but we have had income through season tickets;sponsership deals and a pitiful amount of transfer fees. Yes we have bought players in but their fees were either 'free' or,except for Bielik, on the low side. Also if £80 million was paid for the stadium, where is it? Is there going to be a twist where uncle Mel has the last laugh by,once a buyer purchases the club, he gives us the stadium for nothing? Very very confused. Hopefully someone could enlighten me as I am an old git now!?

  11. We will be on minus 2 points currently and Reading (if they get a 9 point deduction) would be on plus 1 . Next week when we beat them we will be on the same number of points, or 3 points more if hopefully we win at Sheff Utd.on Saturday. What with Curtis Davies saying today the players, manager and supporters are not ready to give up on the fight, i feel we have a chance of staying up. It really then depends on whether the EFL give us the 9 points deduction as well straightaway. Looking at the Championship table with Minus 11 points against your name is so daunting and soul destroying for anyone, except MM, associated with this club. The key thing is whether we stear clear from injuries, at least until January, when we will have Bielick and Kazim back. Hopefully we have a new owner by then and can purchase some 'loan' players etc.. Ahhhh! Ever the optomist! UTR
