Just as long as nothing collides with Uranus.
Don’t you just love school boy jokes.

Tamworthram reacted to Shadowplay in New joke thread (trigger alert, may offend if you want it to)
An old, blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake...
He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, 'Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?'
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.
In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, 'Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five things:
1. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
2. The bouncer is a blonde girl with a 'Billy-Club'.
3. I'm a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter.
5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.
'Now, think about it seriously, Cowboy ... do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?'
The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, 'No ... not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times...

It's all the BBC can afford and it keeps care home residents happy.
I find it repulsive but luckily I have hundreds of other channels to choose from and an off switch!

He doesn't look his age so, I don't see the point of replacing him with a younger model on loan. Also, his touch and positioning compensates for any lack of pace (if he does lack any).
By the way, judging by your user name, I think I know your PIN if you wouldn't mind lending me your card. ?

Virgin Atlantic were taking an age to refund our flights (120 days plus) so I did a chargeback through my NatWest credit card and got the money back within three weeks of the claim. Also, I don’t think flights only are covered by ABTA so if you use a credit card you have added cover if the company goes bust.

Cambodia and Vietnam are well worth a visit.

Thinking about it (especially as we've gone from going away at least twice a year to not getting away for three years by next summer for various reasons) but certainly won't be booking anything for quite a while.
Probably be four or five weeks in total - likely to be France and/or Italy.
Cambodia and Vietnam are on my bucket list but my wife doesn't fancy either so, may have to go on my own before I get too old ?

Cometh the lockdown, cometh the insomnia. Bloody raging now so very thankful for this thread which steered me to The Queen's Gambit. As wonderful a show as can be imagined which tells the story of Beth Harmon, an orphan turned chess prodigy and her rise to the top through the otherwise male dominated world of competition chess. The completely entrancing Anya Taylor-Joy takes the lead role.
It's a fictional piece but one so wonderfully crafted one might suppose it's based on fact, indeed it may be inspired to a small degree by the life of Vera Menchik, but that's another story. Definitely worth a watch. I love chess but literally no knowledge of the game is required and watching Anya Taylor-Joy is in itself its own reward. Marielle Heller, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Moses Ingram also dazzle in a wonderfully well-casted series. Joyous!

80 minutes into National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and it’s absolutely poo.
How on earth is it so popular?

With @Davidposting his thread earlier, thought I’d bump this. Some of you might be uncomfortable with revealing any issues you are experiencing.
it was roughly this time of year when i started this thread.
Two massive things that I have learned since;
1- being aware something isn’t right is admitting to yourself, you’re on the path to feeling better.
2- however bad you’re feeling, you’re definitely not the only one feeling that way.
Ive been told by many posters that just reading this thread gave them hope and help.
take care

Just finished the first 5 episodes of The Queens Gambit. Not bad, can see why it is one of Netflix’s biggest rating mini series.

All in good time some still need to recognise that the risk is real. Certainly better than it looked under cocu but by no means safe yet

I think it's just there to help officials adjudicate between a corner and a throw-in. If the ball is in the air it's a difficult call. Having the post helps you see which side of the line as it were.
It also tells less talented players when to stop running.
Back on subject I hate the ridiculous 'entertainment' of two attacking players shielding the ball near the corner flag whilst defenders hack away trying to get on with things.
Usually in the last five minutes and gets the losing team's fans very irate.

Unless of course if a free kick (or advantage) is given for the incident causing the injury.

When I played the ball had to be within the white lines.
If you take a corner, it is a bit cramped, having to avoid the flag and strike the ball cleanly.
Why don’t we make the quadrant bigger and then say the ball has to be completely within it?
Surely that would make life simpler?

People who just don't do their job - this is from the Milwall game yesterday. He let the corner be taken without the ball being moved.
Second point - stupid football laws, apparently the law is that any part of the ball can 'overhang' the white line. Why introduce ambiguity? Just make it so some part of the ball has to be touching the line - surely?

Was rather hoping TENET was going to star Bo Derek alongside our extraterrestrial friend. Alas I was disappointed.

It may already have been recommended but I've just finished the third series of Subarra on Netflix.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it myself especially for anyone who rated Gomorrah.

This. I had literally never heard of him. Why was I going to write him off before he'd been given a chance?

I like that film. Styled in an odd way but entertaining.
