Some muppets referring to him as Clownes last night. Childish and disrespectful.

Commenting on the ownership is fair game.   We had this with with MM - you can't criticise because he's a fan, he's putting his own money in - and look where that ended up.
Whether the comments/ criticism are fair is all that should matter.

I understand that when the football isn’t pretty, and the league position is dire, football fans will inevitably lash out. However, I am amazed that there are a good number on here tonight slating our owner. This is a staggering state of affairs even for our club, only some 15 months since he saved us.  Cool it down lads.

There's got to be some cost/benefit analysis going on in Clowes head at this point surely?

No businessman is ruled by pride. They will know that to be successful you need to change direction sometimes.

He also said there is no middle ground, we’re either excellent or quite poor.

We were good (for half an hour so) against Peterborough and we played well against Blackpool but I’m struggling to recall any occasions when we have been excellent. I’ve not been in the Warne out camp up until now (I’m big enough to admit I was wrong but I still hope he can turn it around) but FFS, why can’t he say it as it is? We have often been poor and we’ve been good in very short spells but most of the time (when not poor) we’ve been OK bordering on meh at best.

It's not that dumb a decision was it. 3 promotions from the League we found ourselves floundering in.
Only red flag was only one team on hs CV plus immediate relegations each time.

it just makes the situation even worse in that he now seems slightly deluded as to whats actually going on.

He should have gone over to applaud them but not try to communicate with them. Immediately after a poor result when emotions are at the rawest is never a good idea as Hourihane discovered last week.

That's my main issue I think, his inability to see (or unwillingness to admit) that we're pretty terrible in most games. It insults the intelligence of our fans to suggest otherwise. Unlike Warne, we've seen some brilliant football being played at Derby, and we know what it looks like. His post match interviews are like reading 1984.
Paul Warne told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was his final, most essential command.

I laughed at this, but it is sad.
I don't want him ridiculed, bullied, harassed.. I want Clowes to admit he made a mistake and remove Paul from the position for his own sake.
He is a nice bloke and unfortunately has been found out tactically. It isn't his fault, just one of those things.

It’s fine to like him I’m sure he’s a good person but he’s Certainly not a good manager.

I’m not fully in the Warne out camp yet but have one foot in there definitely. Thinks that’s about the most pro Warne you’ll get from anyone now surely.

I’m getting nearer and nearer to the firm “Warne out” camp but I really don’t understand this talk of doing the decent thing and resigning. Football managers just don’t do that (not as far as I can remember anyway). Why would he throw away a three year contract, or compensation if he was sacked, when he probably thinks we’re not out of it yet (he probably has more confidence in his ability to achieve what is increasingly looking like the impossible than the rest of us) and he can turn it around?

I get that he wouldn’t want a sacking on his CV (although it seems far less damaging in the world of football management that it would be for the rest of us) but is throwing in the towel any better for him?
I also understand the pressure he must be under but I would strongly suspect he can cope (at the moment) with the emotional pressure. Like I said, it must be incredibly rare for a manager to simply walk away unless they have another job to walk into.
I don’t think it’s much to do with decency but more a case of common sense. “I think I can still do it but if you think I’m not good enough then sack me”
I’d love it if Warne could make a success of it (I find most of his interviews pretty cringe worthy but I wouldn’t consider him an unlikeable person) but my confidence levels can’t get much lower. Tuesday now almost becomes another “must win” game.

No because I’m sure there were times last season this season and under cox and the 50s where we were lower. Can only go on where we finish at the season. Any lower than 7th at the end of the season would be the worst in our history
