Your take is completey the opposite of mine - watched that when it was originally broadcast and wondering why I bothered - one of those series where I hope they all die at the end.....
At the time I seem to remember Norton was being touted as a possible James Bond so was interested to see whether he had potential - decided he was far too much of a pretty boy actor with no depth or menace about him, though to be fair it wasn't the best material for him to work with....

I really enjoyed it too, when I saw it few months back. I had very low expectations, being a big fan of the Chevy Chase version and having read some awful reviews when it was released but I laughed consistently throughout. Great car!.
Just checked it out on IMDB and a score of 6.1 is pretty solid for a comedy, to be honest.
7/10 from me too.

Watched "Vacation" on Friday and really enjoyed it. Yes, I know I'm a hypocrite following the comments I've made about a couple of other low brow films and TV shows but I thought it was funny. 7/10.
Then watched the "Burn after reading" on Saturday. Even better. 8/10.

Fair point but, do you realistically see anyone other than the teams I mentioned being serious contenders? Liverpool are part of that closed shop, they have just failed to convert membership into actual titles. They are still amongst a very small group of teams that could win the title (baring another Leicester miracle).
Because I'm bored and have nothing better to do, I've taken a look at which teams have occupied the top four places over the last 20 years. So that's 80 places (20 years x 4 places).
The clubs I have mentioned have occupied 85% of those places. (Arsenal 17 of the 80, Man U 16, Chelsea 13, Liverpool 12 and Man City 9).
Outside of those five teams, only Spurs (6 times), Newcastle (2 times), Leeds (2 times), Everton (once) and Leicester (once) have made it into the top four.
So, I think it is pretty close to a closed shop.
I suppose, what I should have said, is I'd be more interested if a team other than one of the "big" five were challenging.

I wasn't defensive... I think you were perhaps. Its OK to not like something but I just think you didn't present a reflection of what it was actually like.
However, you have crossed the line referencing Allo Allo. I won't hear a bad word said about it. Rene gave young me hope I could find a girlfriend and Yvette remains my favourite comedy character ever. Happy innocent days.

Very good in their time. Still elicit a chuckle. I find Porridge dull now, despite loving it at the time.

Iconic in the same as Mr Blobby was (for any of us unfortunate enough to remember him)?

Just to complete the set of contradictory feedback...
Whilst watchable I never felt Breaking Bad was in the league of the Sopranos, The Wire, Gomorrah anyway ...but felt Saul was one of its better characters so I watched a season or so of BCS.
Didnt find it terrible, just felt it didn't have enough meat on the bones to warrant a series of its own.

I found it a bit slow to start with but I stuck with it and thought it improved a lot (especially without Chuck - I don’t want to give the storyline away) but never reaches the heights of Breaking Bad.

Why not give Fargo a go? both the film and the series. I can recommend both.

That first season of Fargo... Billy Bob Thornton was incredible. Such a psycho. On the edge of my seat every time he was on screen.
