He made us play like we had Stoke's players, we don't. Continual crossing in the air into the box. Again. Why?

I'd love to see clips of every cross we tried to make today. To say that's the way Warne wants us to play, you'd think we would practice it but we look so poor all of the time. Even Hourihane with nobody around him couldn't beat the first man or lift the ball off the floor. And if the ball does reach the box, nobody is anywhere near the end of it apart from a defender.

IF we play it on the floor, we have Washington who like to run off the defenders shoulder who should get into some great positions. We have NML who should also be able to run off the defenders shoulder and kill them every time. But no, none of that football at Derby whilst PW is there. It's becoming very boring.

That performance was on the players, not Warne.

Most people would agree that we played good stuff against Northampton.

He picked the same team and whilst some of the interplay was neat, we were toothless. Barks is becoming one of those players who looks better when he comes on as sub. His decision making today was awful.

NML had the beating of their defence but had no one to cross to.

Wash is an inside forward who works hard.

Collins has little to no football brain.

So, it’s no surprise we struggle in front of goal at times yet the same team scored four last time out.

Warne doesn’t inspire confidence but today wasn’t on him.

Maybe Crewe are better than Northampton

  3. Whilst ever we have the current regime we won’t see youth.

Browns development has been hindered massively this weekend. He could have played in 1 of 2 games but instead wasted his time sitting on a bench with no chance of playing unless we’re 4-0 up on 80 minutes.

Youth can add so much to the team when bedded in properly. It’s also something that fans love to see and can also forgive youth if things don’t go quite to plan.

I’m sorry if I touched a nerve for some reason with you. I have been posting on here a while and most people here I believe would consider my posts to be polite, balanced and fairly positive as well as accurate. Happy to be corrected on that though….

But hey ho that’s up to you.

    Its football opinions differ.

    Always enjoy reading your posts.

Didn’t get a chance to watch or listen to the game…

Can anyone briefly summarise it, with the emotion taken out of it?

Because the stats suggest we dominated etc but everyone online seems to be fuming.

In summary - everybody was cross with how many crosses we had. It never crossed my mind we couldn’t cross the ball as bad as we try to.

Which is why you go for promotion at the earliest opportunity.  There is no such thing as a rebuild.  The longer we're here, the more bricks you need and the underpinning gets more expensive every season.

Out of curiosity, when would the windows go in?

I’ve been waiting for someone to come on here and rub the ‘Warne Out’ brigade noses in it.

I think it may miss the point.

I actually WANT Derby to win, I would love Paul Warne to be successful, I would want Darth Vader with the emperor as his number 2 to be successful if it meant getting back to the Premier League.

But WANTING someone to be successful and BELIEVING they will are two different things.

If I go to the dentist with a toothache, I WANT them to tell me it’s okay and I can go home and eat a family size packet of peanut M&M’s, but I BELIEVE they’ll most probably tell me I need a filling.

So, am I happy Derby won tonight, absolutely, am I happy Warne won, completely, do I think we’ve turned a corner, we’ll have to wait and see, but I pray we have.

So, whether you’re in the In, Out or Shake-it-all-about camp, I feel we all want the same thing, and that’s a successful Derby County that plays the kind of football we saw tonight.

If this is the launchpad for something better than we’ve been served this season, then I’ll be the first to start the ‘Warne In In’ thread 😎

    Great post 👍🏻

I am of the opinion that if you did a poll of all Derby fans, the majority would still be backing PW.

I still believe that many of the supporters wanting Warne out are those young, rather naive fans who would turn their back on the team in a heartbeat. The instant success that comes with young minds.

Either way, it's something of a mute point as it's music to my ears when out owner comers out and fully backs the manager.

That is what the club needs...stability. Given time, and hopefully some real money; I remain very confident that PW will succeed.

    Twaddle

  9. I can't see how they can work through any of this. The football has been poor for too long - how do we turn that around? Warne seems to me like he's tried everything he knows with the players he has. Would January make a difference? I can't see how it can - if we remember last January he failed to bring in a forward and has done the same in the last transfer window. Why is this? Do players not want to play for him - football is a very small community and players talk to each other.

The final straw for the club has to be supporter confidence - a club like Derby rely too much on supporter revenue and this will clearly dwindle and is doing very quickly - in fact, the last 7 days has shown the biggest majority now have no faith in PW and his team. And in the football world, you aren't going to turn that around unless we go and win 5+ on the bounce. Can we win 5+ on the bounce - you'd have to say, No.

I have to bend over backwards to get to night games, lose 2 hours wages in the process and drive too far to watch what is currently being served.

If we were playing well (and even losing) I'd still bend over backwards because the football is my release. But, I can't do that for how the team are playing right now and I've had a season ticket for 30+ years.
