Long overdue. What strikes me is the arrogance of Keogh in assuming that he is entitled to £1.62m over the 15 months he is likely to be out injured for (worked out at £25k per week)
He was employed on those terms purely as a professional footballer. Due to his own idiotic actions, he is unable to fulfil his contract to be a professional footballer. What did he think he was going to be doing of benefit to the club during those 15 months? Be an ambassador for the club? Be an example to the young players? The club have offered to still pay him & to aid his rehabilitation - he should count himself lucky on both scores but clearly lacks the humility to even be grateful for that.
I do understand the argument that the treatment of Lawrence & Bennett seems very lenient in comparison. The differentiation though is that a) there would be a higher standard of behaviour expected from an experienced player and a club captain and the obvious one that b) Keogh is unable to play for the foreseeable future whilst the other two can.

I don't love the way he's wading in on a club who stuck by him when he had his own court issues and gave him a professional  contract as a youngster with a diagnosed medical condition when others weren't interested .

The club are perfectly correct in this decision and I fully support them.
These modern players are living in cuckoo land. 
If Keogh had anything about him he would show some humility and be doing everything he could to repair the damage he has done to the club.
Refusing to take a pay cut instead of begging for forgiveness makes me think he'd be better suited to the House of Commons than Pride Park.
If he has been on £25,000 a week for the past few years he should be set up for life and if he isn't, well that's his fault. Either way, if it was me, I would be doing anything to restore my own & the clubs reputation, including working for nothing, if necessary.
We all make mistakes and believe you me, I've made plenty, but it's how you right the wrongs and learn from them that matters.
These players need to understand how privileged they are and start behaving accordingly.
No sympathy for the bloke at all now. Good riddance.

I am afraid his decision to reject the new contract says it all. His choice, his responsibility. Derby haven't show him a lack of respect, he has shown the club no respect here. An arrogance and an inability to take responsibility for his own actions.
If Keogh has any issues with anyone, it should be himself and Lawrence. 
Hopefully this is the last of the fallout so we can move on and finally put this sorry mess behind us.

If he had any decency about him he would have taken any pay cut offered if he really cared about the club. How he thinks he deserves to stay on the same wage whilst not being able to play due to his own fault is ridiculous
