The squad was lightweight even with Knight, Dobbin, Mcgoldrick last season. 
Haven't replaced any of these players IMO. The lack of attacking options is woeful, unbelievable amount of pressure on Hourihane and Ward to get the assists, let alone us score some goals..

Warne also noted the burnout affect of having a small squad and thats exactly what we're going for again this season.
We've lost an international midfielder in Knight and a 20 goal a season striker in McGoldrick. We lost Dobbin and Springett who arguably weren't that great however, so far we've brought in Washington as a workhorse. I really can't see why we're recruiting in this manner.
As i've previously stated defensively the recruitment team have knocked it out the park, but in offence they've been found wanting so far. 
Maybe we're unlucky that the financial money pit has fallen on its bum just as we need to spend a bit. But this is where a manager with good connections could sign a couple of smart signings out of nowhere.

It's shaping up to be a very typical derby transfer window.
Starts of promising and ends up flat.
Assuming Big Trav is right (and I'm starting to have my doubts with an ever changing story), something has happened since Clowes said we had a large budget (certainly big enough to get out this division). Did it rub up the EFL the wrong way or maybe Wycombe again?
I refuse to believe that in a season where promotion is massive for this club, Warne is voluntarily placing his trust in 2 maybe 3 strikers plus 30 and a 17 year old who has shown promise, against Salford, Chesterfield and Matlock.

That squad tonight highlights how far we are off a team squad that is needed for top 2. Hardly any attacking options.
Also, we have picked up a lot of knocks/fitness issues. I know it’s inevitable during pre season. But to have about 5/6 out already seems quite high. Have they pushed them too hard?

I personally think as fans we are going to get very frustrated with his play and if we don't sign 2 or 3 scorers/creative players, we are in trouble.
I regularly see fans quoting three centre backs, Ward and Elder as wing backs and Bird and Hourihane as deep lying players in the middle - but then I see Warne wants to get it up the pitch quickly. Who to exactly?
I'm genuinely worried at this point. I can see us having an excellent defensive record, but only at the expense of being completely crap offensively.
Of course - if we sign those 2 or 3 quality starting players, then happy days and my tune will change, but right now, I am really concerned.

Our recruitment has been the same every season for years and years, we always balls up on the last piece of the jigsaw and I was really hoping this season would be different.
Igor Stimac demanded Derby make a signing that make us European contenders and we signed Lars Bohinen. 
Why recruit a supposed top recruiter guy to then chase players out of Mel Morris' little back book of players he loves.

Its exactly what I thought last night.
Reading are in a mess and have continuously broke FFP regs, but I'm sure the EFL will let them carry on signing players, just like they were allowed to sign Andy Carroll et al, when they were under an embargo.

I'm led to believe it's another striker, 2 x '10s' and another midfielder. Currently no thoughts of loaning Rooney out. 

Must be watching a completely different player to me , you can run around all day long but dont do nothing with it .

Godden would be another statement signing imo. Him and a few premier league youth loans and we will have a good squad 

He’s such an odd character. Who gets so wound up about fans chanting songs. It’s funny how he can remember that but can’t remember when derby fans supported him when he lost his child. 
 

Think he scored a cracker at Pride Park a couple of seasons ago in the 1-1 draw. Like the look of him 😊

Its become apparent that some sides , Charlton,Portsmouth and Oxford to mention 3 have looked at the runners and riders this season and thought, spend a little bit in the right places and we might get up this season
I can see all 3 of those sides being in or around the top6 as they have recruited well
I'm not concerned yet but firepower was our main flaw last season and with Didzy gone this window has to be productive and get us some goalscorers 
There is no excuse for not being in or around Top 2 IMO that may seem harsh but we really must be looking at those top two positions 
We must hit the ground running so our business in the market is crucial ...lets hope Warne is getting the players he really wants 

So, I've just seen that all the preseason games are going to be on RamsTV!!! Brilliant, as a subscriber that makes the 20 quid in June and July (almost) worth it..... But wait....
Nope, Pre-Season games aren't included so I'm paying 20 quid to watch precisely nothing in July even though there are 5 friendlies!! 
I know, I'll cancel this month and pay the 4 PPV prices ... Ahhh yes sorry we've already taken your money this month 2 days ago before we announced the news!!!

He said signing a left back for example is easy against other clubs in this league because of their reluctance to blow their budget on a left back. 
Clubs in this league haven't got a big budget but they are more prepared to spend a big chunk of it on a striker because that's the most important area of the team.
So instantly you're competing with other clubs who are willing to offer just as much as we are. 
I'd still fancy our chances of signing a striker over anyone in this league. If we want them and are seriously in for them then I'd be very confident they would choose us.

these free agents could have done a great job for derby, but warne wants to stand by the idea that its difficult to find and sign strikers
 

If Washington is one of the better ones I’d hate to see the average strikers.

Bolton are apparently trying to sign Josh Maja as he wants to come back to England, if that’s true and he’s willing to play in league one we should be all over that.
 
16 goals in 37 games last year in French second division. Scored a few goals for Fulham in the prem in 2021 on loan. Also scored 15 Goals in 24 games in league one when he was just 20 years old in the 18/19 season.
 
He’s also a free transfer as he refused a contract extension with Bordeaux.
