I’m sure MM his doing his best to get the best for this Football Club.
I have spoken to him at forums and outside the ground when he has taken time to speak when he needn't have .
The guy is a human being for goodness sake
    Let’s have some balance
Has anybody actually thought how this might be effecting him personally
I grew up in Littleover with Mel although I didn’t personally know him .
He has  always been a Derby fan .
He has made mistakes at times but he doesn’t deserve this

How to buy a football club without any cash
    1. Find a friendly guy/guys with a lot of spare cash and borrow many £millions
    2. Buy club with cash thus passing all rules and regulations and establishing credibility
    3. Refinance assets for many £millions more than purchase price, at a crazy interest rate (ask 3 amigos for advice on this part)
    4. Give friendly guy his money back all neat, tidy and legal
    5. Club has cost nothing and you have  many £millions profit
This is the hedge fund/private equity model

Buying the club with its own money by refinancing the stadium, the very definition of a leveraged buyout.

I have no gripe with Mel, obviously things haven't gone to plan and this last 2 seasons it has fallen apart. Who is to say any other owner would have faired any better in his tenure. We've certainly had a few good seasons with him at the helm and a lot of upheaval ,skulduggery , managers along the way.
I have no reason to believe Mel had didn't havethe best intrest of the club and for the most of his tenure poured significant personnel funds to pursue success .We can all criticse ,bad signings bad managers in hindsight but most on hear were raving Rooneys arrival as a player ,Rooney as Manager. And I  Can't remember many moaning about any of the numerous players being bought during the last 5 years. Were a fickle lot but Mel is a ram ,he did his best didn't work out but I take my hat off to him for having a go.

Spot on Jourdan. Mel has supplied significant capital to the club. But it still has to be sensibly deployed.
By and large, the executive structure and cast of characters down the last few years have used the capital extremely poorly.
I really don't get the "he's ruined this club" type comment. If anything, the club has come close to ruining him.

Mel has invested well over £100 million in the club since he assumed overall control, the basic business of the  club, is in my opinion not in a mess, we have a great ground , great academy and the commercial side of the businesses is very well run which as a previous tenant of an executive box at the ground I have very good first hand knowledge of.
What is an issue is the unrealistic expectations and  demands of a supporter base that expects the rams to win every game and if that does not happen to get their pitchforks out to drive the owner/manager/players out of the club/town. I believe the squandering of Mel's cash was a direct result of that pressure and the decisions of some previous senior executives.
I would repeat what I have said before be careful what you wish for, because because both the fake sheik and the Alonso guy look far worse custodians of the club than Mel Morris, If I was Mel and getting this level of abuse I would liquidate and take whatever cash I could and spend the rest of my days with my feet up.

There is absolutely nothing in that Natalie Jackson interview.
We’re on the verge of relegation to league 1 and have many players out of contract, bills still to pay and we are losing money hand over fist. Of course we’re in the poo, we have no income because we are still in a ducking pandemic!! There are many other clubs in the poo financially it’s just not in the press.

None of this means we’re going to lose our club or we’re going to go into administration. Only way that will happen is if Mel has ran out of money. It would make no sense to liquidate and as someone who genuinely cares for the club he wouldn’t do it unless he had absolutely no choice.

I also notice everyone some are adamantly speculating we’re going to get a points deduction now when for months the consensus has been it will be a fine worst case.
We have a massive threat of relegation yes, but it seems the gloom of this is leading people to speculate our Armageddon is just around the corner when there is nothing other than a random tweet from Collymore which he’s now deleted, a news report from natalie Jackson that says nothing, and stories about the EFL questioning Alonso’s money - which they should be doing as part of following due process to ensure the takeover is above board.
The only genuine known concern facing the club is whether or not we will be in the championship next season.
