No doubt haters will say they played a weakened team etc, but it's always nice to beat a team further up the football pyramid.
Also want us to go as far as possible, even if it's not a money spinner and we won't win the thing. Winning means something whatever the competition

Is it a con and the Greek will make it a perm deal on big money if Forest need the cash next season?

Probably more of a hand from Forest to Olympiacos, this time. 5m would actually be quite a high fee for modern Olympiacos to spend on one player.

Better start to the season than I'd hoped for. Despite being a brand new team thrown together very quickly we are playing some nice stuff at times and creating loads of chances. Liam needs to be brave and believe in his way of playing, the worst thing he can do at the moment is listen to criticism from fans.
Hopefully he has been around football for long enough to know that fans are generally very fickle (not having a go at any on here, its just a football thing that happens).
We have had an horrendous couple of of years and we stuck together to keep our club alive. Its now back to normal where some fans think we should win every game and have a sense of superiority over so called smaller teams. Perhaps these fans are embarrassed to draw at Fleetwood if they work with gumps? Whatever, tell them to eff off or ignore them, it doesn't matter.
We are where we are, we are fighting to build a squad capable of getting us out of this tough division. So far, Liam seems to be doing everything right, the players have gelled far quicker than is normal and despite still getting to know each other are dominating games, working hard for each other and the gaffer.
We will not win every game, we will have to be patient, but if the team continues to create chances we will start to convert draws into wins......its not going to be easy but from what I've seen so far I believe we are on the right track.
Others have mentioned Brian Clough and Jim Smith, I was a bit young when Clough came in 1967 but I can clearly remember Jim getting grief early on before Igor arrived part way through the season we got promoted......
After all we'd been through I am a bit disappointed that a few on here are so quick to moan, but its half a dozen folks on a forum that only 5% (if that) of our fanbase uses, so nowt to worry or fall out about.
As long as we all do our best to get behind the players every match, thats the only important thing, and never forget, thats the only thing what us fans can do to actually influence results.
    Come on you Rams ?

Honestly that could be completely true and it could see it being the case. I've even said elsewhere that I'd be thinking about coaching Smith into the role to potentially free Knight up.
But alternatively we might have a better solution and our best team with everyone fit might have Knight at RB.

I don't disagree with Knight being the best option we have at RB
But in my opinion we lose more in midfield than we gain by having him out of position. I think any downside of having the others at RB is outweighed by what Knight can offer in the middle

I worked at EDS at the time (early 2000s), and we also did the official DCFC website. Was a fun job for sure, lots of meetings at the ground and we did some pretty pioneering stuff. Then PremiumTV came along and offered a cut-price generic template to all the FL clubs and 90+% of them took it (including Derby). You may remember it as the time when everyone said "why has the website suddenly gone so crap?" ?
I still have a folder of old promo photos we had to scan. Lots of pictures of fans. I bet some of you lot are in there!
Funnily enough, what was EDS is now called DXC and they just set up a similar deal with Manure
    https://dxc.com/uk/en/manutd
But to get back on topic FWIW I don't think pressuring Derby to drop betting sponsorship is the right approach. It needs to be handled at a national level on ALL sports, and it should be via a mandatory levy on the betting companies to go towards gambling addiction support
At the moment it's a voluntary 0.1% - which isn't a lot and betting companies can choose not to do it
GambleAware are proposing a 1% mandatory levy
    https://www.begambleaware.org/news/gambleaware-calls-mandatory-1-levy-prevent-gambling-harms-crisis
If you want to do something proactive for your friend, then lobby MPs to get behind this proposal.

LERam reacted to Kinder in Curtis Davies - signed 1-year deal
Just when I thought I couldn’t love him any more…
We were getting the train back from the Commonwealths last night and the train stopped at New St. My son was sitting facing the door, wearing a Derby training top.  This guy walked past George and patted him on the shoulder and said hi, then sat on the seats behind. I whispered who was that? and it was only Curtis bloody Davies.
So I popped my head round to ask if I could say hello (he’d signed a shirt for George recently and I wanted to say thanks) and he was unbelievably friendly. It’s 25 minutes back to Sutton and we chatted the whole way. I backed off and sat down initially as he was with his daughter, but he was leaning over the seats and really happy to talk.
I can’t remember everything we talked about (I was a bit giddy!) but he said Netflix should have done a documentary on us and listed all the dramas since he’s been at the club. One thing I didn’t know it had forgotten is 8 or 9 people got food poisoning in America on the pre-season when Cocu joined. Apparently the food was inedible and they were ordering McDonalds on Uber Eats.
He seemed put out that the existing players’ deals were last to be sorted out. His words were that the club sorted out the new signings and there was this much left over for us. Didn’t seem salty though and said other clubs wanted to talk to him but he always wanted to stay, so made excuses to avoid speaking to them. He would like a final year at Orient though.
Interestingly he hopes DC will appoint football people for football roles, rather than finance people. I asked if he meant Steven Pearce and he did, doesn’t seem happy that he’s still there.
There was loads more, I might post again if I remember anything interesting. But I was blown away how friendly he was, he’s a lovely man and I’m pretty sure we’re now best friends. I’m definitely going to invite him to my birthday party!

    Win your home games
    Draw your away games
    Average 2 points a game
    Do that you'll be promoted
Disappointing not to take 3 points but we are 4 games in, and we have 7 points. It's steady and I'm happy with that for now
