I think some people envisage Mel sitting in a darkened room, white furry cat on his lap, twizzling the ends of a long moustache and letting out little sinister chuckles randomly as he finds new ways to upset people.

I’m sure none of this is the case. For all of Mel’s mistakes or errors of judgement (and for all the annoyances of the ticketing system and parking and everything else) I still refuse to believe that he or the club are doing anything to deliberately upset or inconvenience fans. There are probably good reasons for everything (or at least ‘reasons’) and anybody using things like this to find another stick to hit the club with is being a bit unfair imho.

Derby are not doing everything they can because if they were the fans would be in the know about the smaller issues that affect them. Staffing issues, let the fans know. Bus issues, let the fans know. Ticket office issues, let the fans know. An email to explain any changes or problems is all it takes rather than stressing people out about the uncertainty. Unprofessional and just plain annoying.

    Hope you get sorted B4.

  2. Really like him. Raw pace and an attitude to take someone on is so refreshing. Not sure I see him as a full back for now but maybe a wingback or right midfield would suit better. He is one for now though. Get him in the team. It is not often a young player's name is chanted from the stands after 4 first team appearances as a sub and one start. We all bemoaned the lack of attacking flair we had last season and the fact we were playing in front of defenders, well, this lad offers the alternative. Lack of penalties also last season, he has won two already. Exciting.

We need to get him in the team know because when he does move on we won't be ready for it.

  3. It is hard to know whether Rooney is doing a good job based on what he has at his disposal or not, but, give him some credit for the way he has handled it. He could have sold out the hierarchy at any point in that interview and he didn't.( I would have spilled the beans completely. ) Not sure if he is sleeping on the couch in order to be on call around the clock or to get away from Colleen but he is stumbling his way round a bad situation with some likability.

Think it is time to back the players and management in the coming weeks by attending matches and being as positive as possible. The fans will be enough as an extra to get the team through this.

    C'mon you Rams

  4. Wow! Just when you thought Derby could not shock you anymore. Don't agree with that there are other players who are natural leaders and that they don't need the captaincy. They are the players who demand respect and give their all on the pitch and lead from example. This is how a captain should be selected.  Im sorry to say that Tom does not fall into that captaincy category.

Another wrong decision at Derby county.

  5. Not surprised he has won it. Best of a bad bunch really. Standard of our young players this season has been poor maybe, due to the teams performance and position in the league.

    Congratulations though.

  6. After looking at league positions, form tables and upcoming fixtures for the remainder of the season there are some very big games to come.

Rotherham have most of the sides in the bottom eight to play. If they can get results out of them with their games in hand you see them staying up. Maybe too many games in a short space of time will go against them.

Sheff Wednesday are gone. Poor form with very little new manager bounce.

Wycombe should be gone also but a good result yesterday to show some spirit.

Coventry have a mixed bag of fixtures to come. Huddersfield and Rotherham of the lower teams. Barnsley and Bournemouth of the higher teams and the rest seem to have nothing to play for.

Huddersfield also have a mixed bag but are not in great form. Games in hand on us but I would rather see points on the board at this stage.

Birmingham have also a mixed bag but have picked up form since bowyer took charge. Can see them surviving sadly.

Derby have two big games against teams looking for prem football in the next two. Think we can get 2 or three points here because that would be typical of Derby. Games against brum and sheff Wednesday are glaringly obvious in importance because of league positions. Blackburn and preston could be affectively on the beach so some hope there.

Overall after spending time going through stats and fixtures and writing this post I have come to the conclusion that I have no idea who is staying up or the 3 going down.

    Happy Easter everyone
