Brian Clough quote " Derby is a football town" This should be a good selling point for our new buyers.

"This is probably the high from the game n the beers lol but foooook me this could be a hell of a season if we pull this off n stay up!! This is why none of us support city, liverpool or united because were Derby thro n thro! We take the highs and the lows because were proper supporters! The lows make the highs feel all the sweeter!! Glory supporters will never understand this!! We will get thro this one way or another!! Up the rams ????❤️"

Classless is being polite. Rooney is a multi millionnaire already. That's not why he's doing this and he's shown his class by sticking by the players, believing in them, doing everything he can. The guy is top class in my opinion, forget whether he's an experienced manager or not. So impressed with everything he and the team are doing with all the poo that's been going on. The reaction today says it all.

What a classless interview by Dawes…. After Rooney said his first thought was the staff losing the jobs and his first statement was about 32 Red and how well paid Rooney is.. what a knobheadicksplat that guy is.

Great performance Wayne and the whole team today, massively proud of you all and all the supporters at PP.
To the Board - this is the ‘Derby way’ close the door on your way out!

That's sent a big come and get us to prospective buyers. This club is so much more than MM. Flippin' amazing. So, so proud of the players, the management and the fans. ??

Think a lot of people are readjusting their views today. Can we confess in one safe place??
I kinda said all along Mel was spending unnecessarily and at inflated prices but that's not to say I was complaining.
However, got to hold my hands up and say Rooney has acted with a lot of class today. Said all the right things....for him to find out via Sky is an absolute disgrace.

Excited at the prospect of seeing a resurgence of Derby County Football Club.
So many things have been shaken in the past year and there is a need to “Awake and strengthen that which remains.”
Fifty years ago we were the top team in the country.
Forty years ago Forest ruled the roost.
Recently our manager was the most successful player in England.
Forever changes…..that’s life!

Adslegend got a reaction from Will Hughes Hair in Rate Mels tenure from 1 to 10
For a time I was gutted that he was trying/ reported to sell. This was all sold on the EFL being the bad guys though, that he'd done things right and seemed to do the best by the club. With the last season or so in mind though, and the recent news, he can't be regarded as a good owner or even an average owner. When he was first interested, we were on a upwards trajectory. A very promising squad with a great coach and likely not a huge amount of expenses. From that we've wasted money and thrown it away on players which we arguably didn't need. We've bought high and sold low for a decent number of signings.
He rates very low on this scale. He tries to call himself a fan on the club statement. So many people scrape by to try and go to these matches yet he's worth as many millions as he is and he's willing to put the club in this position. I'm not saying that he's obligated to spend his last penny to keep us afloat but he did buy the club with the knowledge that it could go wrong- It ultimately did go wrong because of his decisions.
I think we're well rid.

I know we all knew there were issues with the finances and the accounts and we were going to cop a points deduction. But did any of us think it would be this bad?
Maybe we were all in denial. But with the likleyhood of a minus 21 points deduction and certain relegation the shock waves reach beyond this. This season will be a dead rubber, Rooney is unlikely to stay (can't blame him TBH) and we'll sell players in the January transfer window.
I'm sure what the future looks like will start to unfold in coming weeks and months. When I woke up this morning I felt like I was still I'm the middle of a bad dream. But no. It's reality. The future of the club we all love and cherish is teetering at the brink.
So this one goes out to all of you fellow Rams fans. Take care, try and stay positive and in adversity let's stick together as this wonderful club has some of the best fans in the land.
Yours Sheff Ram x

Fair play for posting an opinion against the grain but do take issue with it. I was in the away end at Elland Road that night too but frankly if administration was the ultimate cost of sticking it to Leeds & swaggering around the Championship for 5 years, then it was very poor deal indeed.
At least when Leeds blew up & ended up in League One, they'd got to Champions League semi finals & threatened a title push. Our 'glory' was one playoff final appearance (under Mel) & a couple of decent cup results under Lampard. Thats even below our historical average in terms of performance.
Awful thing is Mel's cash (spent wisely) allied to the 13/14 squad was an amazing oportunity to not only go up but stay up & make a positive impact in the Prem. Heartbreaking really.

The humour is fun to read. Adversity is the best source for good comedy.
But I feel sick. I'm in tears.
I've been through the Tommy Doc times, ripping apart the great team, the division 3 days, the Maxwell era, Lionel and the co-op affair, the three amigos, 11 points. But I genuinely feel this is worse than any of those.
Administration is not a fast track to a better future. Working people will really suffer as a consequence.
We will lose all those promising youngsters that have kept us interested over the past couple of years of struggle.
This is truly heartbreaking. I am really gutted.

I wonder just how much Wayne Rooney has been lied to here. He's constantly open in the media, perhaps too open, regarding what's going on behind the scenes. And nearly always, the exact opposite happens.
He's said the takeover has been close, then it falls through. He says he hopes we're close to signing players, still in an embargo. Then today he has said we can stay up with a 9 point deduction and a few hours later, we plunge ourselves in to at least a 12 point deduction. I don't believe he would be stupid enough to say these things without conversations with Mel, or Stephen Pearce. So what exactly is he being told, and why is he putting up with being strung along like this by liars?

I understand that tonight many questions will be asked, both of the club and myself.
Tonight as the news was broke, I was sat in the pub, still am, it's hit me hard as I'm sure it has you all, I was not expecting it, there was no pre warning, no hint of what was to come.
I also understand that over the years my opinion has been questioned, it's something I have had to deal with, sometimes poorly, but with the best and honest of intentions.
Tonight I am hurting, just as much as you all, this is the club I love, the club I adore, the club I have tattooed on my hand for all to see with pride.
I love this club, please just think when posting over the next few days, weeks in anger, myself, the moderators, we do not deserve to be on the end of your anger or frustration.
Today is a dark day for the club, but as fans, we need to to stick together. We are Derby County, every one of us and we will move forward as one.
Once a ram, always a ram ?

We don't need demonstrations at any games.
Now is the time to show the football world that Derby County have one of the best fan bases in the country. Loud and proud boys and girls all game tomorrow.
Let's show any possible buyers that they have a great club to come into, not a toxic one.

Where are the Mel defenders now… hate to say I told you so…
Man is a total disgrace. Even has the ducking nerve to call himself a “fan” in that statement. Hope he gets everything that’s coming his way tomorrow. Lies and more lies.
I’ve not posted for a long time because I’ve been so angry about what’s been going on. So so angry that one man can destroy a football club we all hold so dear. And the worst thing? He won’t even take any ducking responsibility. Utter disgrace.
I’ll be there tomorrow, in full voice against against our supreme overlord (without any NDA on what I say). And I’ll keep going, because this is my football club.
Hopefully one day Mel will be gone, and never darkens the doors of Pride Park again. Once we’re got a proper owner who’s worthy of this great club, I’ll be back. For now I bid you all farewell…
