  1. Really good race yesterday, as was the previous round.  It's typical that as soon as we get 4-5 teams that can shine each week when they're 100% on it, and we've got a really good season, that it's threatened to disappear with all the new regs next year.

I think yesterday was an example of Lewis having a little too much power at Mercedes.  Instead of arguing the toss whether to come in or not he should've listened to the team and come in when told.  Admittedly he may have dropped back in behind Gasly and lost a couple of laps while the tires got in the window but with his ability he could've clawed it back with a few extra laps.  I know he isn't 7 time world champ for nothing and he's a master when it comes to managing his rubber but he'll be the first to admit that he wouldn't have been so successful without great strategists in his ear.

Still it makes for a hell of a season.

  2. I do think Ashley's a massive bell-end but he knows how to run a sustainable club.  His philosophy to buy young players with potential to sell on is always good in theory but it can only be a success with good scouting.  I wouldn't mind whoever came in if they immediately turf sons of owners/managers out the door and put in place a solid, far reaching scouting system.  We haven't had a good success rate at finding cheap gems since Simon Clough was here.  As a fan I'd always be more excited about signing an unknown like Idiakez than a (supposed) world beater like Jacob "The Smiler" Butterfield...

  3. Finished bingeing Squid Game a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Then without realising it I’ve almost finished a show that plays on a lot of the same themes regarding the haves and the have nots.  It’s called Maid and it’s outstanding. Highly recommended

Does this now mean they can break the FFP rules and overspend as much as they like? Be interesting to see if the PL/FA keep an eye on that one.

I bet a certain person at a nearby club will be watching how much they spend!

I'm sure they'll try and find creative ways to circumvent such restrictions.  20 year naming rights on the stadium like Arsenal, players on £1m a week earning it via ambassador roles for the country like Neymar at PSG.  Let's hope they don't go doing stupid things like using different amortisation practices for their players contracts & flogging St James' to themselves for £1b or that tight permed jebend from down the road will kick up a stink...

  6. Seeing as we’ve got one of the meanest defences so far this season I won’t both with a defender. Yeah it would be nice to have Tomori’s pace to cover Jags or Curtis, but we conceded a lot of goals that season. A fully fit Shaun Barker would be good as well.

Thought of Will Hughes for midfield then I remember how unplayable Gorgeous George was when we had him on loan, and how he could take out half of the opposition with 1 pass.

It would be nice to have some end product on the wing, and as good as Kris Commons was at times, it’d have to be Tom Ince.

As for a striker, gotta be Chris Martin hasn’t it…

  7. I'd spend countless amounts on cocaine & high class escorts.  Then I'd waste the rest...

I'd probably pay the wages for a further month to help out.  Certainly wouldn't buy the club though.  I doubt my plan to install myself as manager on the back of guiding Newport to the Champions League in 4 seasons, on FM20 would go down too well with you lot...

When you look at it like that, with 38 games still to play that's not impossible to overturn. We need to effectively make up 9 points.

The thing that will likely kill us off though is a combination of further sanctions and asset stripping.

I'm trying to be positive and think that we could put enough points on the board by the new year any major changes in personnel won't lead to a massive tail off.  But in reality we're likely screwed from this point on...

  9. This is surely a good news bad news situation. Good news that another team are dragged into the poo with us, bad news that it’s a clear indication we’re about get the same deduction cus of our accounts

Our dog got bitten yesterday on the park by another dog - big hole in his back leg, £450 in vets bills and a very sad pooch

They were both off lead and the owner of the other dog says "he doesn't very often bite other dogs"

We have her phone number but she is not willing to pay the vet bill - as she says "that is what you have insurance for"

I've never had a dog before so I don't really know the etiquette around this stuff, but it seems a bit off.#

Are you supposed to report dog on dog attacks to the old bill, or is it just of they bite people?

"he doesn't very often bite other dogs" = He occasionally bites other dogs.  I'd definitely report her.

  11. Solid enough start from my Niners, albeit slacking off in the 4th.  Not convinced swapping between Jimmy G & Lance is going to work though.  Whiffs of Shannahan trying to be the Pep of the NFL.

Anyone noticed something weird when teams score a TD?  A steadycam shot will show a close up of the players celebrating but the crowd or in soft focus.  Makes it look like a Madden cut scene, looks wrong...

Exactly.. I mentioned in a previous post, London is open. The theatre asked for proof but I could have shown the the electricity bill, just waived it in from of some student. No masks on the trains.. You're right, nobody give a toss now.

The strangest thing is it seems to be the 60 year old + bracket that appear to have given up. I see tonnes without masks on my weekly shop.
