While I agree with a lot of what you say, do you remember how it felt when we left Wembley in 2014 in that disgustingly beautiful bank holiday sunshine?
We were run properly. We played football properly. And QPR did neither. They'd played the system, got a light 'punishment' for it, and their team of mercenaries had no answer to our team of talented, excitable youngsters who footballed them to death. Their game plan was to soak up pressure and hope for the best.
It wasn't just the nature of Zamora's goal - it was the team that did it, and what they stood for at the time. It felt like money and greed would always win, no matter what you did.
To many other clubs in this league, we're the present day QPR. If we were still living sensibly within our own means under GSE ownership, and it was Gibson selling the Riverside to himself and outcompeting us for transfers due to creative accounting, we would want the EFL to fight our corner too. 
Perhaps we haven't broken the rules, and that is why the EFL have nothing on us, but I personally feel that if the shoe was on the other foot, I'd be wanting the EFL to throw the book at the club and find anything they can.

Possibly because buying high and selling low is not how rich men become rich in the fist place. 

I hate FFP as much as the next man, but I don't think the "shackles" implemented by the EFL are what are causing the damage. Mel has known the rules since he purchased the club and has only himself to blame for the failure to stay within those rules. Limiting spending is not going to put your club at more risk - it might make it a lot more difficult to get promoted, but I can't see how its going to make anybody go out of business. If we'd followed the rules and not tried creative ways to get around them we would be fine.
The fact that the EFL has done basically nothing to help with Covid and is actively punishing clubs who have yet to file their accounts is the main issue for me at the moment. They are completely out of touch and frankly I don't think they will be happy until they have destroyed a few more of their member clubs entirely.

For all the many things that Mel's regime have made a mess of, ironically, the one which will have the most direct consequences, actually seems to be the one where their ducks were in order. 
The truly bizarre part of it all is that the amortisation policy used is itself is a double edged sword. The start and end points are the same, it's just how it gets there that are different. 
Regardless of final outcome, however, the EFL have better PR overall, and given the bumbling nature of Mel's regime otherwise, Derby will come off looking bad regardless of the outcome. 

I wouldn't be. The calibre of person the club is willing to sell to at this point has me seriously questioning the competence levels of the people making decisions at DCFC.

Firstly, I don’t think Wycombe will take any action and if they do, I can’t see how they can win.
Secondly, accusing them of hypocrisy isn’t really appropriate. They got lucky (potentially as they may have been promoted anyway) because of a ruling that was enforced on all teams in the division. It was none of their doing. They didn’t seek to break/bend any rules which I assume is what they would be accusing us of.

You can't just dip in with that little nugget and leave. You tease.
