Ask Bird what division he wants to be playing in, and if he wants his wages improving. Hull is far from exciting but it's years ahead of us at  present and a step in the right direction for his career.

Couldn't care less about style, if its effective in this division, and 3 times so far it has been, then its fine by me. Sure we'd all like free flowing footy and dazzling skills, but you don't get that down here, you get half decent players with missing attributes to become top players, therefore you play to strengths and if those strengths are pinging it up the pitch quickly and crossing to a target man then fine as long as it is successful. At least I can see a plan with the signings, its just a shame that big man has so far eluded us. What is disappointing is getting next to none of the Bielik/Knight money to reinvest.
Thinking that Derby are above this league, have the best players, and don't have to do anything but turn up to win is most likely what has cost us in the past few games. It was fine to an extent when we had individual match winners, look at Mac's time here, if it wasn't going great someone like Ince, Ibe, Bryson, Russell, Martin, Bent or whoever could have a storming match and win/turn a game pretty much on their own, you don't get so many at a lower level and whe you aren't throwing money around - last season we had McGoldrick and Mendez-Laing for that, maybe occasionally Hourihane and Dobbin. This season we still have 2 of them, who will be the catalyst for a few games (if NML is played in any appropriate position) and I expect Washington and Ward will have matches that they are largely responsible for winning. To rely on a system with interchangable players seems far better than hoping someone has a 40 game purple patch.
With regards to the Championship, which is a long way off, there is no evidence Warne can or can't do it, only that he left Rotherham in a very good position last season. Every time previously he has been hamstrung by players leaving at the end of their contracts and lack of funds for improvements or a best replacements - the only thing it tells me is the championship is higher quality.

While this might be true, what players are we chasing and what money is available?
The only names we hear are the likes of Rhodes and Smith. I'm sure Smith is a decent striker but he's 31, essentially a slightly better version of Collins, and apparently isn't available. Rhodes is older and arguably the same type.
We are absolutely crying out for energy, pace and creativity in both the midfield and forward positions. We all said this last year. Since then we've sold Knight (energy) and McGoldrick (creativity).
These positions should have been absolute priorities if we had limited money to spend.
Either Warne thought he had more money than he did or - as I suspect - he thinks that what really matters is having three strong centre backs and wing backs as your main creators of goals. So he prioritised signings in those positions and used most of the available budget there.
If so I think that was a terrible mistake and I just hope Clowes can be persuaded to give him the funds to rectify it.

    No. Early days.
Opening day is always a lottery, most teams come out of the first 3 or 4 games with mixed results
A weakened/unfit/reserve team underperformed in the cup
Everybody is psyched up because of pre-season comments about promotion so it seems worse, plus the fact these games were at home
Transfer window is still open, and we're still chasing 2-3 players so its not a finished squad
Warne knows how to get out of this division. Once players have gelled with each other and the system, and are playing with a target man (who may still be Collins) we can properly become his team and get playing as he thinks can get us out of here.
Signings don't look great so far but are we really judging by just a competitive game or so on the pitch, if almost all your team is underperforming, it must be hard to have your best game.
I will say though that after the hyperbole about being leaders, standing up and being counted, and driving the team on, that was was seriously lacking tonight

Personally, I don't think that sacking Warne is the answer.
This is his team and out of the four goals conceded we have gifted three of them to the opposition. He can't control individual mistakes. Two of them were from two players that almost our entire fan base was delighted to have signed.
If there is no improvement after a dozen or so games then David Clowes has a decision to make, but right now is a time for patience.

I’m a fan of Thommo. His turn against Fulham a couple of seasons ago prior to planges goal was legendary. Bags of energy and looks after the ball well. I really hope he does well second half. We need some positives.

    Barbie/Oppenheimer double bill.
Barbie. Not sure what it was supposed to be really or who it's aimed at. A mum and tween bonding over practically nothing and a heavy handed message that a woman just being herself is enough rather than anything resembling a plot.
    6/10
Oppenheimer. Definitely too long but I can appreciate it as a well made film and the best thing Nolan has done in a while. All I would really criticise is the last 10-15 minutes feel tagged on even though they wrap up the movie. Murphy and Downey Jr give strong performances. Wife hated it though.

Going away for the summer tournament makes this even more the case. He might start the season well as a result but unless we rotate and rest him he'll be off the boil by Christmas.
To be fair I think we're better covered now. Last season there weren't a lot of options and he had to play too much. Not relying so much on wide forwards then it's more about strikers and attacking mids. I can see him and Washington rotating.

He shot it with the Imax cameras, but that doesn't make it an Imax film.
Saw Dunkirk at the Imax, and it was worth it, think I'll wait to watch this one at home.

I feel the 104 points is more likely.  Let not forget these though.  There's been worse
    Loughbrough
In 1900 the club finished bottom of the League, conceding 100 goals in 34 games, winning only a single game and collecting only 8 points
    Doncaster
1905  8 points.  None away from home

Not really. There are a few wide location shots, a couple of explosions and a couple of scenes of Florence Pugh if she's your cup of tea, but none of the big set pieces Nolan is known for.
Think it would be just as intense in your own living room if you can avoid getting distracted/interrupted for 3 hours.
Has Nolan said anything about watching this in cinemas? I know he threw a hissy over Tenet.

Be nice if one only obtained 10.
If we can lose that record and gain 104 points to take the league one points record I'd be very happy.
