Carl Sagan got a reaction from FlyBritishMidland in Every goal of this promotion season
One of the concerns before the season was how we were going to replace McGoldrick's goals. It was the biggest cloud on the horizon, but I'm always happier when the goals come from all over the pitch, rather than just one source. Well done to everyone for stepping up. But it helps to have a prolific striker, so well done also to James Collins who showed why he has scored so many in his career, and proved himself a leader and figurehead.

It will be interesting to see who out of the promoted clubs from L1 get players in the door earliest
It will be a gauge to how good our recruitment team is as we certainly shouldn't be behind the winners of the play offs hopefully we get players in early to allow them chance to settle in etc and hopefully younger players too
exciting summer ahead 👍

Supposedly, he's on just over £60,000 a week at the moment. I can't see him taking a huge pay cut to join us. With the way modern football's going I wouldn't be surprised to see him at a lower level Premier League team like Leicester, Crystal Palace or Everton.

Over the season. Johansson ranked 6th in the Championship, woth Wildsmith 11th in League 1, and Vickers 41st (out of 53)

Bizarre comment. Clearly the teams he's with think he can't play that level anymore and has only been used sparingly by Anderlecht this season. There is much more money to be had in the English leagues than across the continent. Get rewarded well, play in front of full houses and far more people than at Anderlecht every week. With the chance to build a reputation in England, the home of football, and the gateway to the Premier League. And reputedly a man of great character - just the sort of leader we should be looking for at the next level.

Johansson is a fantastic shot stopper. Some would argue the best in the league. However, any side wanting to play out from the back or even 'mix it up' would be taking a risk. This season, only 1 in 5 passes is played short, and 1 in 6 last season. For comparison, Wildsmith and Vickers go short 40-50% of the time.

I do totally understand that football is more than just stats and there are lots of factors other than the keeper at play when we look at goals conceded.
However I really must insist on this, what good is a goalkeeper if he doesn't stop you conceding nearly a hundred goals?
Are we really saying that the rest of the Rotherham team was so severely out of their depth that with one of the best keepers in the league they still conceded that many goals? If they had a bang average Champ goalkeeper they would have basically picked up about 5 points all year and conceded a hundred goals?
I've honestly never seen the guy play so I'm not qualified to say if he is any good. I just need to know what is so good about him if he concedes about 2 goals a game in the Championship?
Also, if I was to use your Premier League analogy, how would newly promoted Ipswich fans feel if they signed Wes Foderingham from the Blades??

Thomas Delaney (Danish international midfielder) only has a year on his Sevilla contract left and they don't want him. He spent last season on loan at Anderlecht, with an option to buy for 3 million Euros, but reportedly the Spaniards are now ready to take 1.5 million: https://www.anderlecht-online.be/en/article/232104
He's 32 years old but could be the central midfield leader we need to make a difference. He's got American citizenship through his dad so I imagine would be comfortable in an English-speaking environment.
It's laughable that Cardiff want half a million pounds for Ebou, but for just over twice as much we could maybe buy someone like this.

I don’t know that their presence on the vegas trip should be a direct indicator of their futures. Hourihane, Collins, Sibley, Thompson, Smith, Bird, Adams are all there and as it stands aren’t going to be Derby players next year.
From what I can see Waghorn, Ward, Wildsmith, Forsyth, Loach, Fornah, John-Jules, Nyambe and Barkhuizen are missing from this group shot that was shared;
Top row L-R; Cashin, Bradley, Elder, Wilson, Collins, CBT, Smith, Nelson, NML.
Bottom row L-R; Washington, Vickers, Sibley, Hourihane, Bird, Thommo, Adams.

I’d like us to invite TJJ to spend pre season with us. If he can get through the rigours of a Paul Warne pre season then perhaps a low risk, high incentive contract offer for him? He’s certainly a talent. Head and shoulders above most of our squad in terms of technical ability.
If we could get in 2 solid options for the striker positions I wouldn’t mind (in fact I would quite like) Collins being a squad option. State of him without a top on in vegas he’s got to be looking after himself so well. Blokes got more Abs than them other side of A52 have got fingers.
He’ll work his nackers off and can clearly find the back of the net. Well worth a place in the 23.

Carl Sagan reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Retained List
Why must people agree? I’ve seen enough of him the last 2 seasons to say he’s got pretty good technique, his heading technique is good, his penalty technique is good, a number of his goals show very good technique with both feet and his mid-riff, here’s a selection of them from this season;
I agree we would benefit from a younger option in the squad but the discredit levelled at Collins never makes sense to me. If we had Collins as a central striker supported by capable players out wide and a creative 10/8 behind him he’d still score plenty. He’s scored the number of goals he has in his career (215 in senior club football) because of his technique, it’s more likely to be his lack of pace and athleticism that’s stopped him succeeding at a higher level (and caused him to often be caught offside).
I always think it’s possible to say we need new signings without being completely dismissive of our current players and their contributions.

Not being negative, but my advice would be not to put too many eggs in the free agency basket.
It really surprises me that more footballers aren’t more dedicated to seeing their contracts out and going on frees. Bird would’ve have a better choice than Bristol City had he just seen it out, for sure, probably earning a lot more than he’s signed up for too.

Carl Sagan got a reaction from therealhantsram in Wycombe bought by Kazak billionaire
I think this must be a major factor. High Wycombe is very well connected to London, just 20 miles from Windsor and 30 miles from central London, and almost counts as a London club nowadays. If you're a billionaire owner and a multimillionaire player, you might well prefer picking somewhere in the affluent Thames Valley west of London, rather than go south of the river to places like Charlton/Palace/Millwall.

Here is the post.
As @jono said, I won't be wishing him well because he's diminished in my eyes, but won't be giving him abuse, either.
He made his choices and has to live with them.

So sad. I remember the peno shootout at old Trafford. A real gutsy player who seemed to have integrity.
The Joiners, his behavior, the gall to sue, the lack of humility ? Well may that’s life, survival or whatever we all have to do but he wrecked his name in my view. Pity. A courageous player on the field.

Carl Sagan reacted to ram59 in Dajaune Brown
Let's remember that the season isn't over yet for Brown, he's now on a countdown to a memorable Wembley appearance. I'm hoping that this experience may have helped his development and that he will be good enough to save us some money on transfer fees next season. Hopefully, this loan has given his career a massive boost and has shown that he can use his power and strength against proper mens' teams.
I'll be there next week hoping that he has a great game but will finish on the losing side. As a member of Solihull Moors walking football team, I'm hoping that the Moors can recover from today's loss in the National League Play Off Final and win the Trophy.
