Who plays with Rice and Bellingham? I see people keep saying Foden which is ludicrous
There’s going to have to be a compromise somewhere.
Someone unfashionable like Henderson plays.
You take a risk on TAA (if he’ll even be fit).
You risk Foden, Bellingham and Rice but you tell the latter two to play to a role.
Back three, midfield two of Bellingham and Rice and you tell the former to play to a role.
The nuclear option would be Stones in midfield and a leave a vulnerable back two.

Sadly we don't really have any other back up for Rice.
A year (or two) too early for Mainoo
Now Rice has been let off the leash and started driving forward I don’t think we even have Rice himself anymore!

*tin helmet on*
He’s provided midfield balance but would be a squad player if we were promoted

He'd have been a very Paul Warne player I think.
I liked Shinnie and was always a bit weird he went for only £30k when championship clubs would've taken him and probably for several times that.
Didn’t it transpire as well that had other clubs been aware of his availability they’ve have gone in for him and happily paid more?
Were we THAT desperate for a quick £30k? Were the administrators that incompetent that they didn’t think to drum up a bidding war?

Something I took away from that… because of all the s*** going off, we did NOTHING to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the first First Division win

I always thought the story went that Earnshaw was a ‘gift’ for Billy because we couldn’t afford Nugent or Kenwyne Jones.
Because there was that weird rumour mid-August that we were going to sell Howard and Earnshaw to afford Nugent.

It also didn’t help that Jewell sold the spine of our attack in Oakley & Howard (to Leicester) and brought in Savage & Villa who were inferior,
Jewell just went a bit weird and wanted rid of all of Billy’s players.
Like, what the hell were we doing getting rid of David Jones?!
And then to top it off, of the players he couldn’t get rid of they ended up fighting their way back into the team anyway!
Were any of his replacements better? Hulse sort of replaced Howard and was arguably better but other than that…

Nah, he loves it against his former teams
Surprised he didn’t give us a bit earlier this season

I personally will never forgive the ineptitude and lack of fight in that season , embarrassing is a mild term to describe it and hate it when we get mentioned in the media for it....lame useless gutless and probably never to be beaten
Was it gutlessness or just human nature?
It got to the stage where nobody wanted the ball.

Cambridge is gonna be a nightmare, innit? Already considering setting up an account there and buying tickets to their cheapest game just to make it look legit

Never paid enough attention to notice before but… have there always been two tosses for penalties?
It just feels like that if one team won both, as Newcastle did last night, they’re getting a HUGE advantage in the shootout?
Wouldn’t it be fairer, that the team who win the toss get to choose end or order and the toss loser decide the other?
-
Adams has provided much needed midfield steel… but he ain’t it.
Just not good enough on the ball.

When was the last time we could say a midfielder ran the show?
I’m not talking playing well, I mean conducting the orchestra.

He's just refusing to let the 5 at the back go. It doesn't work and it doesn't suit our club. I honestly think he's persisting with it because its the only system he fully understands. Even when we play with a back 4 it feels like there's large tactical elements just missing from our play like Warne just doesn't know how to play it fully.
There are four ways five-at-the-back works.
You use it if your midfield is poor but you have ball-playing centre-halves - so your defenders are keeping the ball.
You use it if you have underlapping wide centre-halves.
You use it in a one off match in which you know you’re soaking up loads of pressure.
Or you use it if you have an insane sweeper.
We’re none of these.

I was driving around Belper with my dad practicing for my driving test with that Burnley game on the radio. Radio Derby never mentioned Jeff’s disallowed goal so I got to be angry again when I saw the highlights!
Funny what you remember, innit?

National team of #Guatemala , Nathaniel Méndez-Laing has already accumulated nine goals and 15 assists in all competitions for Derby County this season in England. There are rumors of interest from two interested @MLS teams. #LAFC and #DCUnited .
Almost too niche not to take seriously.
Could see him going. Lifestyle change, much closer to his international commitments.

Directly contributed to 22 goals in the league (24 all comps).
He’s potentially the league’s POTS not just ours.

I sincerely hope Collins is ok and it's a tactic by PW to keep Steve Evans guessing prior to our game on Saturday.
It can't help but bring back the trauma of the 14/15 season when Chris Martin picked up an injury at the same time of the season when we were in a similar position in the table, and was out for 10 games. Darren Bent got injured as well, and, hey presto, no striker.
Johnny Russell was played up top but didn't score a single goal in this period. Wolves away was particularly painful and sticks in my memory.
We slipped down the league and the season fizzled out with us finishing 8th.
Of note, the first game we played after Martin got injured was Rotherham away, managed by a certain Steve Evans. 3-3. His post match comments were along his usual themes:
"What an advert for Rotherham United being (in) the Championship.
"There's tinges of great disappointment being 3-1 up. We got a point but we have come across the best team and manager in the division."
Wolves away was f****** b*******, Bent gets clattered by Batth, clean through on goal but Ince scores from the resultant loose ball.
It’s either advantage and a goal or a red and a free-kick.
Free-kick and a yellow.
Not sure Collins missing would have the same impact as Martin, mind. Martin wasn’t just our goal scorer, he was our creator as well.

I’m not sure there’s any major secret as to why we went into administration. We had an owner whose net worth was £500,000,000 and in his first three years as owner the club had lost £97,000,000.

For whatever reason, these things always seem biased towards defenders.
I don’t know if it’s because their job’s to be consistent and to make lots of smaller contributions throughout a match or what.
But even in the Exeter ratings, a lot of people have Nelson and NML as the same, despite the latter getting a goal and an assist.
Everybody craves a 20 goal a season striker and a wingers equivalent to that is 10 goals and 10 assists. With just under a third of the season left to go NML’s already on 8 and 12 (9 and 14 in all comps).
He’s having an incredible season so far and yet I get the impression he isn’t even favourite for our POTS.
