  1. I think if Warne had his way and everything fell into place, we’d be the Leicester title winning sides if 13/14 and 15/16 They weren’t a counter-attacking side, they would just overwhelm you with pace and energy It’s a bit of false truth that they won the Premier League in 15/16 by playing on the break, they blew teams away for the first half of the season. It was only after the New Year Ranieri realised ‘s***, we can actually do this’ and made them a bit more rigid.
  2. Sibley’s contract was signed as an 18 year-old goal scoring #10 in The Championship. His current role in the squad is to fill in at left-back. He’s done so in League One. It would pain the romanticist in me but… unless he agree to a drop in wages I’d let him go
  3. Didn’t the account for 22/23 show our wage bill as being £17,000,000?
  4. I suppose the counter argument to that is our spell under Clough We did everything right, we built slowly, we developed the academy, we spent what we made in sales, we had a bottom third budget in the division*… we were still losing £7,000,000 a year. *just for comparison, the QPR Final team’s wage bill was less than half of last season’s
  5. When we had Clough he had us fit, with loads of good footballers, played nice football but were dog defensively and couldn’t defend a set piece for s****. Warne will have us fit, loads of battlers, set us up we’ll, battle hard and be god from set-pieces at both ends. I feel as though he’ll end up setting up the next manager for success, as Clough did.
  6. Just a thought, we’ll have had a week longer break, teams will have lost players to the Euros, we’ll have promotion momentum… If fixtures go our way… we could get the ball rolling 👀
  7. Don’t know if this has been replied not already but no, the Rowett season was 17/18. It was 21/22 you’re thinking of.
  8. I didn’t particularly rate him when he first came. He provided balance and was immense as a screen but gave the ball away more than he actually won it. But as soon as Smith came back in it changed. Smith was the one sitting a little deeper, picking passes from deep and keeping things tidy. This allowed Adams to start rampaging forward. He was still the steel of the midfield but he was using his energy to get forward as well as just putting his foot in. Just something I noticed.
  9. When he first broke through he was this tidy midfielder who would keep the ball, keep things ticking. He’s sort of lost that ball retention and turned into this energetic midfield runner. Maybe the style of football won’t allow it (not a dig) but if he can knit it together you’ve basically got another Bryson. Just without the goal threat, thus far.
  10. One from this season that’ll be one of those “f****** hell, remember that” matches Taking 5,000 to Meadow Lane, outselling them and outselling our home attendance from the previous group game 😂
  11. And then backing it up with a point away to a Fulham team who were smashing everybody! Which then reminds me… beating Fulham at home on Good Friday that season to postpone relegation
  12. Considering how monumental it was, beating Forest in The FA Cup replay in 2009 isn’t spoken about anywhere near enough as it should be. Two down inside fourteen minutes. Win 3-2. First win at The City Ground in 37 years. Commons scoring the winner on his first return back. I’ll even add Savage’s scarf nonsense.
  13. Friday night, day before my 20th birthday A pub had gotten a buffet ready for our coach but a lorry had shed its load on the M1 so we never made it and they slammed the phone when we let them know 😂 Mad the rubbish you remember because of football
  14. Not to be that guy but the pitch invasion was a disgrace. There were still two minutes of play left. Why was there such a clamour to do one? Mainly by 19 year old virgins who thought it was cool. Nobheads on the pitch even before that.
  15. I know it’s probably blasphemy… but some of these ‘funny’ anecdotes about Clough just make him sound like a nob.
  16. Kaide has an appearance for us! Didn’t stop them!
  17. Peterborough will have played 64 games this season if they win the play-offs. f*** City and f*** their treble.
  18. If we get promoted automatically we’ll have played 54 games this season. Arsenal can only play 52.
  19. I can’t tell if he’s struggling with that hamstring or if he’s trying too hard. Maybe both. What was he doing when he just needed to knock it down the right-wing and cross but instead cut inside and shot on his weak foot? The attempted diagonal that went behind Wilson and gave them a throw? He’s not beating players either.
  20. Conversely… another the fans decided they didn’t like with very little reason then moaned when he gave it back* *See Chris Baird, Cyrus Christie etcetera
  21. Van Der Laan winner in ‘96, Oakley Man of the match in ‘07. Gotta be Hourihane with one final magic swish of his left foot, surely? His legs have gone but he’s still a genius in the final third.
  22. My account wasn’t made early enough… let me know please if you DID make yours early enough 😂
