Pre-squad announcement has to be the most stupid thing of any tournament so far. Just done to create more twitter posts and ensure the live feeds continue to roll.

    Just pick yer team.

Not sure why they have to "have a difficult conversation" with players who aren't picked. Just ring the people who made it. If you ain't had a call by Friday 11th June guess what? You aren't in the squad.

I hope England win it (obviously), but can't see us getting beyond the quarters (think we're likely to meet Portugal/France/Germany at that stage if we win the group) and wouldn't be at all surprised if we lost to Croatia and could only manage a point in the final two games to ensure national outrage as we come 3rd in the group (we'll still not be bad enough to finish below the Jocks).

Seems quite an open tournament. France clearly have a strong side, Portugal likewise. Germany and Spain seem to be written off as "not what they were", forgetting that they were World Cup winners very recently but both starting line ups at least look as strong as ours if not better and their coaches are probably better too. They're also at home for a fair few games.

Sick of the England are favourites tag as though it means something... just means the bookies make more money when we don't win it and lose less if we do!

Italy and Belgium are hard to predict but have been on great runs prior to the tournament.

    Looking forward to it.

    Yea its not pretty

Win the group and play the runner up of - Hungary, Portugal, France, Germany

Runner up in the group and play the runner up of - Spain, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia

  2. Can't believe PLAYER NAME hasn't made it!!!!!!!11!!11!

In all seriousness, an actual tough selection for Southgate is nice change from previous years.

Seems like; Greenwood, Lingard and Ward-Prowse are out with one of Johnstone/Ramsdale as well.

Last three to go probably TAA, Saka and Watkins? Not sure, that leaves 7 players that can play centre back.

  3. It's probably our best song in years, still don't think we'll get many points

There's quite a few good songs this year: Malta, Cyprus, Iceland (I love Finland's)

But I expect one of Italy, France or Ukraine to win it

    Brilliant ?

VAR advises Mike Dean to review his penalty decision, thinking it may be a dive. Took about 5 minutes all in. He doesn’t reverse the decision, but instead sends Bednarek off!

    Absolute embarrassment

Never a penalty and I get the rule with having to attempt to play the ball but use some common sense like

  5. Theres a lot of football to be played yet, but I think quite a few clubs will be nervous. Probably everyone from Cardiff down could easily be dragged in.

Just on Derby, we've picked up 16pts in 11 games under Rooney - the vast majority that we have this season.

If we maintain this PPG, we will finish on 54pts, which would in theory be the joint highest to be relegated.

an ok Saturday.  Only Rotherham get a good result but it shows what a win can do down at the bottom.  we are now level with florest and only 1 goal worse off.  Knockeart sent off in the 95th minute for simulation.  Bottom 5 look marooned now with only QPR within distant range

I'd be tempted to include QPR in a bottom 6 now, no win in 5 including 4 defeats.

Not watched it yet, but it's the second shortest episode yet I think - at 31 mins. Ep2 of season 1 didn't even make 30 minutes!

Mad that some episodes have been 50 minutes - seems weird to have  TV shows these days that  don't have to stick to a set length to tell each part of the story

    I think I like it

I think they have a set budget for each episode and then spend it how they like, once they run out the episode ends!

    England starting 11:

    England

    1 Pickford

    4 Walker

    5 Coady

    6 Maguire

    2 James

    8 Phillips

    7 Rice

    3 Maitland-Niles

    10 Mount

    11 Rashford

    9 Kane

Thats a decent line up, that centre mid pairing is depressingly dull mind.

We're really reliant on James and Maitland-Niles to do the creating for the front 3.

Think against a team like Denmark we should be playing Mount in centre and Grealish further up, but it is a squad game I suppose.

    Jose must livid with Kane!
