There is normally a drop off between weekend and midweek attendances. Life and work often gets in the way for people.

Of course, fans will vote with their feet. It happens at every club up and down the country, even at clubs with much vaunted support like Leeds.

If we don’t get promoted, either Warne’s job will be under threat or Clowes will give him the first half of next season.

Will it affect attendances? Maybe slightly. But if Derby’s core support have remained through the management spells of Todd, Gregory, Brown, Jewell, Pearson, Cocu, Rooney, Clement and so on, I don’t see the majority deserting the club now.

There have been worse times and less enjoyable football. If you are a fan of the club, nothing should really change.

Happy clapper and the usual people liking your post. Wake up and smell the coffee all of you

  2. My son asked me the other day which players we have sold that have annoyed me the most. I had to think about it for a bit. Looking back over the years, Archie Gemmill to Forest came to mind. I was sad to see Tommy Johnson go and really disappointed when we had to let Mark Wright and Dean Saunders go. But on balance they didn't upset and frustrate me as much as Tom Huddlestone and Omari Kellyman. There is nothing worse than being literally [mod removed] by a big club when we are on the floor as we are now. To see those players go on and flourish when we have had them taken off us for peanuts is much worse than losing a favourite senior player for a good fee

Liked the way Warne came over to clap the fans pre match.   Thought that was a small positive from the day - nobody can guarantee a win or even a performance but little things can help create a bit of a common spirit.

It’s part of a deliberate charm offensive. He was on the pitch before the Stevenage game clapping all the stands. Somebody has had a word

Personally I like Ed’s passion and Eric’s analysis. I’d rather have a Rams supporter commentating than some bog standard BBC employee and in Eric you get someone with an unrivalled knowledge of the game and our club.
It seems to me that some on here just want uncritical, DCFC-can-do-no-wrong coverage on RD rather than actual opinion. If that’s what you want get a Rams TV pass and you can have that every game.

I think Eric has become as big a dinosaur as Ian Hall was to be honest.

Well watched it on rtv as away on holiday , narrow loss away from home against an in form promotion rival with both sides guilty of giving the ball away cheaply and poor decision making or final ball in attack , the game was edged by one bit of quality in theyre goal , very often in these games it’s us with a bit of quality, disappointed but not disheartened,

angie is right though , these match threads are just warne out posting areas and perhaps mods need to look at that , im certainly finding that rather than devouring every post in the match day thread as I used to im getting a couple of lines into most and just scrolling on to the next , it’s the same old over and over again and all to often very little to do with the game the topic is supposed to be about but just a list of past and future reasons the manager in posters minds is not acceptable for derby county ,

I know one thing for sure , if I was warne and read this forum I would be thinking duck this club ,im off 🤷🏻‍♂️

On your last line, lets hope so. As it is someone has clearly told him to try and make friends with the fans hence the very obvious coming out before games and applauding stuff. He virtually did a tour of the stadium last home game. Maybe someone thinks that will go down better than sarcastic remarks

  6. I would bet my house on Bradley playing and it being a back 3. Warne has finally got his justification for sticking with that so that’s the way we are going to play for the rest of the season. I suspect that having been rested Hourihane will return. I think Sibley might start ahead of Wilson up front and  Nyambe, despite being a much inferior wing back to Wilson will nevertheless be preferred because he is a better defender, so it will be

                            Wildsmith

    Nyambe Nelson Bradley Cashin Elder

           Bird   Adams.  Hourihane

               NML.      Sibley

Wilson and Gayle will come off the bench at some point as may Smith

We are second with a game in hand on the leader ..jeez

My comment was in response to someone who was arguing that Ferguson, Guardiola or Klopp wouldn't do any better than Warne with this lot buddy. I think they would. Yes we are second etc but those managers and coaches would have us many points clear at the top is my opinion. Thats not knocking Warne at all

You could put Pep or Jurgen or Sir Alex in charge of this team and I doubt the results would be much different! Turning this team of journeymen into European level champions won't happen.

I think managerial skill has limited impact at this level. Its the players innit

Nonsense. We have some good players. A top manager would have us really flying

The club have previously talked about a 4 year plan, and Pearce spoke about 'phases' on Tuesday. It aligns withthe 4 year contract Warne was given too. If we take years to be phases then we have:
    1. Challenge for the Playoffs (we finished 1 point off 6th)
    2. Challenge for automatics (we're currently 2nd on pts, 3rd on ppg)
    3. Avoid relegation from the Championship
    4. Midtable in the Championship

Based on Warne's primary objective, he'll be meeting expectations.

You can judge him on other objectives if you want (such as youth progression, style of play, etc), but the primary objective is king. Exceeding in those secondary objectives would likely buy a maanger more time if struggling with the primary, but that appears to be the risk Warne wants to take.

I think you are right. I suppose we have to remember how long Ipswich and Sunderland - and others - took to get out of this division. IF we get promotion this year, getting out in two seasons from the position we were in would be very good going
