Duck duck duck duck duck !!!!!!!!, cheating refs , cheating time wasting opposition and we don’t bury teams when we should ,, it’s the bloody same week after week , if it was the odd bad ref then fine but it’s not , I don’t see how we ever get back up with stupid over the top EFL restrictions and biased refereeing , when was the last time you watched a game and thought the ref had a poor game and gave us far too much? , one of ours hangs a leg it’s a pen , the other way round it not enough contact and we were looking for the pen
    gerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr🤬

Today is vital. Win and it’s 2 on the bounce and hopefully the feel good factor and confidence will start to return. Anything other than a win and I fear that could be it.
Bearing in mind where we were 9 months ago and the size and age of the squad, this season has exceeded my expectations. Seems like we’re in very good hands now and I honestly feel the future is bright, regardless of the league we’re playing in next season. COYR.

If we make it, great, if not, we’ll go again as cliche as it sounds..
I honestly feel like this season was always going to be one of stabilisation, if promotion happened, bring it on, we all know this is not a League 1 club and there is no chance we will be stuck down here for multiple seasons. Just promotion wasn’t the primary objective given the circumstances, if the season finished today, it would go down as an incredible one.
Yes it will be hugely disappointing given the position we got ourselves into a few weeks ago, I just look at clubs like Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday that have been down here without restrictions and hasn’t come easy to them either.
I know none of this was the question, however with regards to the run in, I couldn’t be more relaxed about it.
To be in the position we’re in now is beyond any expectations I had back in August.

I disagree. I don’t believe any manager should have this group of players in the bottom 4 of the form table (before yesterdays result).

I don’t think we should demand play offs or promotion but there is so much dross in this division that we shouldn’t be experiencing relegation form over a period of 8-10 matches at any point. I don’t think that’s being entitled.

I agree when Warne 1st came we mixed things up not the possession we had under Rosenior but we looked more of a goal threat but yesterday was proper route 1 just launching long balls forward and hoping for the best. I hope that’s not the sign of things to come as it was pretty dross.

Even Rowett was better to watch than this afternoon. I prayed that the ball would get to Didzy for an artful moment full of guile and craft. And then Cashin booted it long, again, mostly giving Sibley no chance...

On the back of a an away win, so I'm not seen as reactive to a poor result, I'll nail my colours to the mast regarding Warne.

Lovely bloke, good people person, but a very limited football manager in terms of how he sees the game.

Today we played a team cut adrift at the bottom of the league, one win in the last 23 if I heard Owen correctly, yet we owed our goals chiefly to their unbelievably naive, schoolboy level defending.

We are not seeing the best of our squad, because we have a manager who believes football is chiefly an athletic pursuit, rather than a game of skill, and cunning, with athleticism allowing the skill and cunning to prosper.

We've appointed a smiley Charlie Hughes, basically.

Playing midfield under Warne at the moment is a thankless task, watching balls from the back hoofed over your head into the channels, waiting to pounce on the oppositions mistakes to win those second balls, all the while not wanting to leave the back door open.

We don't have the squad to play his way, so we'll limp on till the end of the season, a make do and mend team, even if we somehow end up in the play offs, even if we end up winning them, until he gets the summer, and further windows, to put his stamp on the club

By which point, I'm not convinced that a team Paul Warne has crafted will be one I particularly want to watch, week in, week out.

Yes we are crying out for more pace in the team up top and in the centre of defence and hope Warne makes this a priority in the summer.

Tiredness is mental as well as physical.  They’re struggling physically but I think that would happen in the latter third of season given that the squad was put together with 3 weeks of pre-season left.  They’re also struggling mentally.  It’s clear they struggle for confidence when we go behind at the moment and that’s a mental battle they need to overcome.  When your mentally tired, it seems to drain you more physically too.
Warne will definitely benefit from a full pre-season and a summer transfer window.  When we’re looking at freebies January was always going to a struggle as they’re just not available.  And if a free transfer is available in January, there’s generally a reason why they haven’t been snapped up already.  Last summer the window had been open 5 - 6 weeks before the takeover was completed.  We couldn’t really make any promises or come to agreements in May due to the uncertainty.  This summer we’ll be picking from a much larger pool due to being able to do deals earlier.  And we’ll be a big draw no matter what division we’re in.  In some ways it’s good that quite a few players are out of contract this year as it means Warne has more scope to bring in players to suit his system and style.

Having only two centre forwards ( on paper) makes a huge difference just like last season

It’s noticeable that some are saying that our dip in form and dropping out of the top is the fault of warne having a style of play that is built on high tempo and work rate , perhaps we may not have had the unbeaten run and ever got into the top 6 and stayed there so long without forcing that tempo and work rate 🤷‍♂️, short time I know but we were never in the top 6 with roseniors style , didn’t in my view look like getting in there and many stated that teams sussed us and raised they’re tempo while getting right in our faces  , we had a fair few really weak poor performances under Liam which in my view were worse than under warne and we still had the look of an old team with not more than 45 minutes in us

I’d fully agree with you on that tbh, my one big criticism with Warne would be that I don’t think his player management since Jan 31st has been overly good. BUT I’d counter that by saying I was sat in the stand on Saturday saying ‘well I’d bring Barkhuizen on, let him have a run out’, then when he comes on he does a shocking header and Ipswich run up the other end and it’s 2-0. My point on that is that we could all set up the team differently or think a player might make a difference, when it’s still quite likely we’d still be in the same position no matter whI was playing at the minute.

Wasn't the first one because the pass before the challenge had deflected off the ref so he dropped it back yo the team who were in possession?

January is always a difficult time and it was especially in our situation.
We were riding a long unbeaten run and the team were performing at a high level.
Would we have liked a striker? A centre back? Natural full backs? Almost certainly. In ordinary times, you can bet we’d have signed 5-6 players in January in an attempt to go from strength to strength. But times are different now and we have to be more selective.
Was there good value out there? Was there something workable within our restrictions? Was there a risk of upsetting the balance of a small, high achieving squad? These were all considerations we had to make.
This is a season of learning lessons in that respect.

Of course you can always ignore that we've only actually played 5 seasons at this level out of those 140 years but hey, why let facts get in the way a statistics? We've also never won a game in the fourth level. Perhaps you want to add that to your plaque.

What a bizarre comment. There wasn't long until the start of the season with 5 players under contract, but a temporary coach in position who could make instant decisions about which of the out-of-contract players it would be right to offer new ones too, and where the vital gaps were that needed to be filled. It was about having a team to begin the season, despite the draconian restrictions on us. Rosenior wasn't given the manager's job so was never under any illusions. He was put in temporary charge. I find it hard to see how Clowes could have handled it better at the time.
