As others have said, quite sobering, he’s effectively paid more for a league 1 club in disarray than Mel paid for a really well run club on the brink of the premier league - that with better management from Mel should have got to the premier league. To say he’s gone above and beyond is an understatement and any other owner wouldn’t have gone to these lengths, it’s why Mike Ashley wouldn’t buy the club for example. Without Clowes we’d have either gone out of existence or faced further points deductions and potentially further relegation to League 2. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude forever. It’s not his style but Pride Park should be named after him, he at least deserves a stand. He’s probably made the biggest contribution in the history of the club, bigger than any league title wins.
It’s also eye watering how much money we’re losing, the category 1 academy is clearly a huge drain. However a wage bill of £7.3m for playing staff while competitive in this league is by no means at a level to guarantee promotion considering the lack of money we’ve spent on transfers. For context Ipswich playing budget last year was £16m and they spent c.£7m in transfers, dwarfing the rest of the division - although doing what they’re doing this season in the championship with that sort of budget is incredible.

It’s clear we have to be smart about how we do things if we want to return to the premier league, we don’t have a fat Greek who will bankroll us for £300m from Ill gotten gains. Hopefully the academy will bear fruit but we need to be identifying the right talent in the lower leagues and abroad. Then the quality of the coaching will be the difference between being in a position to compete for the premier league in the next 3 years (Luton, Ipswich) or the next 5-7 years (a return to the Nigel years).
Bit first things first get this squad promoted then rebuild. Either way I think this summer will be a major rebuild.

I was shocked today to hear that the lovely Dave Myers, one half of the Hairy Bikers, has died. Mr. Miggins and myself love this duo and have all of their DVDs. I hoped so much that he was on the road to recovery as he's recently recorded a series with Si King and was able to ride his beloved motor bike again after thinking his biking was a thing of the past. We went to see the pair at Buxton Opera House and it was a wonderful evening - you just felt like it was an evening amongst friends - so relaxed and very funny. Whenever I feel run down, tired, sad or poorly I wrap myself up in a fleecy blanket and watch the Hairy Bikers and it always helps to restore my spirits. Thanks for all the inspiration, love, friendship, warmth and laughs, Dave. You will be very sadly missed. Much love to Dave's wife, family and friends, especially the wonderful Si King. X

It was watching those two reprobates and their "Anybody can cook - look at us" message that inspired me to take up the pans when I retired.
Rest in peas, carrots and a rich onion gravy, Dave Myers.

I think that people should create new crypto-currencies as a fun form of gambling.
Step 1: Convert to pound coins Step 2: Find a drain Step 3: Throw coins at drain Step 4: Pick up coins that didn't go down drain - those are 'winnings'.

I don't know whether this is transferable across gender, but I find trainers with their flat soles really uncomfortable these days.
I wear New Balance running shoes, which are really lightweight and have curved soles that really seem to help the forward movement!

Yeah me too, was buzzing last night & woke up in a right good mood 🐏
Re other points about atmosphere yesterday, that second half was the best PP has been since start of last season - the crowd realised we were struggling without a recognised forward but were determined to get behind them. The true measure of a fanbase is how it rallies when things go against them & Derby have few equals in this country.
Accept the comparison won't be that popular but Steve Evans compared it to Elland Road in his post match presser & it did feel like the rabid 'lets get this lot over the line' togetherness you see from them - of course, the main difference is Derby stand by their team in numbers no matter what division whereas Leeds' crowd numbers plummeted when they were in League One, just like Forest.

I think it cranked up when the Stevenage supporters started singing our earlier songs back at us sarcastically.
For a group of fans with average 3-5,000 home gates they really are an incredibly arrogant lot.

Always feel great when walking away from the game with a win, no matter how we achieved it.
But today came away with an extra little bit of satisfaction. Watching Steve Evans get p1ssed off on the ninetieth minute. Also him then stood on the sideline pointing to his watch, desperately complaining about time wasting while Wildsmith took a free kick. After he'd smugly sat in the dugout watching his own keeper waste as much time as possible all game. Nearly gave me as much pleasure as Sibley's goal.

I'd go with Skechers wide-fitting shoes.
I've had what I've always thought to be arthritis in my feet (along where the shoe tongue sits) so not sure if it's similar to what you're experiencing. For the last year or so I have taken Gopo capsules which are based on rosehip extract and the pain has definitely subsided - might be worth a go?

Another nod on Skechers. My workout trainers are Nike, but the ones I bought specifically for long strolls are brilliant and comfortably under £100. Shop around though as they are always deals to be had, but ensure you're buying real Skechers as there's plenty of moody stuff on Ebay and the like.
