Not exactly. There is no shortage. Therefore if everyone just carried on as normal, filling up when they need to, as you’re doing, then there’s no issue.
my sister just admitted she filled up yesterday, having gone to 3 empty stations, so she can safely get home from her holiday at the end of the week.
I called her out. Would she have filled up now if there wasn’t a panic? Or would she have waited to fill up on the way home?
The media cause a panic, early panickers go and empty the pumps, then secondary panickers go to fill up earlier than they normally would for fear that ‘everyone else’ will get there first and leave them with none when they actually need some. Not realising that they have become ‘everyone else’ and perpetuating the problem. If my sister, and all other secondary panickers had just waited til the end of the week, the crisis would be long over.

The thing I find interesting m about situations like this is the self fulfilling prophecy aspect.
‘oh no, someone told me there’s going to be a fuel shortage, I should go buy some fuel.
’see, I was right, now there’s a fuel shortage. Wasn’t I clever to go get that fuel, and fill 16 Jerry cans while I was at it.’

Just like the toilet paper incident, people being ridiculous and selfish yet again. I've had to make alternative arrangements this week for my partner who's a front line health worker in the local community. We don't want to let her patients down. Fingers crossed normality will resume within a week. The government and media communications need to be reviewed because the language they put out has caused this mass panic.

Turns out the two things British people are most afraid of are
    1) Not having fuel in their car
    2) Not being able to wipe their bums

    The media for you.
Not denying there was possibly a shortage in some areas, however it didn't need the national coverage it received which has seen everyone run to the pumps.

Thing is, like me, I didn’t panic buy from Thursday, fri or Saturday. I went yesterday to fill up ready for working away this week.
so all the patient buyers now need fuel and are being labelled as panic buying.

Sad news today that founder member of the original Quo Alan Lancaster has died aged 72. The Quo provided the background noise to my teenage years at their peak in the 70’s.

I saw the ‘Frantic Four’ play three times on their Reunion gigs in 2013/14 and seeing Alan on stage again in fine voice despite clearly physically struggling was very emotional. Rest in Peace Alan a great rock bass guitarist and singer.

Not had hedgehogs in garden for years. A couple have made their home this year though. They drink a lot of water so I always put a fresh saucer out with food. Cheeky mouse sometimes joins them!

I was at University in Bristol during that time so only got to go to a few home games and a few away that were "close by". Football was different in those days: the grounds were draughty, concrete, terraced, peeling paint, and smelled of boiled onions and cigarette smoke. The referees were crap but genuinely so; they didn't give a penalty because they honestly believed it wasn't hand ball, not like today when they don't give it because they are following EFL Section 3 sub-section 5 ("If a defending player controls the ball in the area, award a penalty {except if Derby County are the attacking side, in which case wave play-on in a very exaggerated fashion, then book the number 9 for protesting too vigorously, then after the game inform Mr Parry so that 3 more points can be deducted}). The game I do remember like it was yesterday was Plymouth away in the FA Cup (when it still meant something). It was notable for a lot of reasons but mostly Derby took 7,500 for what was an 8 hour round trip. Plymouth were up for it because, although we were 20th in Div 2, we had just a few years previously been League Champs, and we were a "big name".  Listen to the great Barry Davies's comments in the opening moments "7,500 Derby fans have made the long journey; These are the most understanding fans in football..." It was an amazing atmosphere. We were lucky to get a 0-0, and of course Plymouth only had to wait 4 days to get their win at Derby. The other notable thing was that Michael Foot was the Labour Party leader and at the game. He had as much chance of becoming PM as Argyle had of winning the cup. But the thing that sticks out is the passion of the Derby fans, who went everywhere and sang loudly even at drab 0-0 away at Orient. If we stick together again ("coalesce"), we can do it again...drop down...and then come back.

OH yes the grass bank at Wigan the snow at Brighton the station door at York Christies hat trick at Swansea to set up Rotherham getting thumped 4-1 at Plymouth in the rain and the main thing and the thing I hope our younger fans go on to feel the feeling that we were all in it together.that we were going to drag this club back were it belonged. Never felt more attached to the club and players as I did the Cox comeback years .Brilliant
