Well that's wrong. I've never I want him sacked or that I'm not open to the idea of him improving.
I've seen and noted signs of progress, some of them he's regressesd on, some not. I've given out credit where I feel it's appropriate. What I do believe (based on what I've seen) is that said progress and the understanding of how it's happened seem to have taken a rather long amount of time come to fruition, I think he's learning but he's a slow learner.
My biggest mistake has been calling out posters for their attitudes toward others, which people have taken to mean I'm part of some Warne hating faction. I don't like people being bullied and rounded on for how they feel aout a football manager and I find many of the comments on here to come across as bullying and often behind a fgacade of humourous gfs. The reality is that I find him a frustrating and contradictory figure, and i'm not sold on the idea that he's as open and honest as he seems. The divisive b******* on this forum really tires me out, and the labelling always seem t cto come from one direction.
I'm sorry but If you don't know what hype I'm referencing I'm not sure you've been paying attention. He's bigged up at every opportunity. If he hadn't been bigged up to a certain degree I'd have a far more favorable opinion of him. I hold him to the standard he's been allocated by those talking of his stature.
The talk of Ferrari showrooms and comparisons to Rotherham's budget just does nothing for me. We are in the here and now, and he has many advantages over most managers at this level either by experience or budget.

My here and now relates to your constant redirections to other teams' success or otherwise at this level, which is largely irrelevant because there are so many differences between us, them, the league, everything to the point that you really cant use what someone else did  - or is doing - as a measure of our own performance.
Is being 2nd and winning most games good enough for me? In isolation, in the short term, yes, of course. I can't just turn my brain off at that though.
Our advantage over Portsmouth and Bolton is that we have a manager who has such a good record of promotion out of this league, which in the short term should count for a lot. I've always said that we should be a top 3 team come the end of the season, and we're on course for that.
I'm not going to spew forth platitudes for someone meeting requirements though, maybe it seems harsh to some but I'm, judging Warne to a high standard, based on everything that's been said about him by those at the club.
I'm massively positive about the future of our club and it annoys me when people seem so obsessed with raking over the coals re: the administration/restrictions  in order to praise the manager for hitting par.

Oh come on. Even the most adamant warne fans would have to admit Mcgoldrick carried the team and warne last season.
You cant seriously believe warne was responsible for how good McGoldrick was.
    Why was he unfancied?
Do you think McGoldrick having such a good season was maybe down to the fact he was now playing against far worse teams than he had done for years?
He was playing in the premier league 18 months before joining us.

Fantastic win. Delighted for Sibbo. The fans were brilliant in the 2nd half and we produced an improved performance.
BUT… I can’t understand Warnes selection today. We were so defensive. 3 at the back and 2 defensive minded ‘wing backs’ was poor. Playing just 2 in the middle when Bird has flourished in a 3 was crazy. We had zero runners getting in and beyond in the first half.
Fair lay to the lads for grinding out a win, but that first hour was proper pony. We could’ve made it easier with a more forward thinking midfield/defence. But, we got the 3 points and that’s all that matters.

Never hid behind anything, I left because I was getting involved in the COVID thread, where the same posters had the same arguments every day and refused imo to change stance depending on which side of the fence they sat (Me included).
I came back to give some insight based on being around the academy and unfortunately have got involved again, in what sometimes feels like Groundhog Day, just a different subject. I said at the time, I have no real affiliation to PW, more stability around the club and not going down the same route as the previous owner.
IMO I think he is doing a good job, but then I had never heard of him before he came to us, so I really don't care what he did before joining us.

With a 4 year contract,  all of the hype behind his appointment and a 5 year plan, the standards are higher than that.
The number of supporters he has wrapped around his little finger is bloody bizarre to me.
We don't play in equal parts  either. It's 7 parts tedium where it's not clear what we're supposed to be doing, to 3 parts excitement when playrs remember just how good they are.

    Aye.
Without getting all flowery, I think our discussions stand as proof against the idea everyone just has an entrenched view, and that's that.
I have some perfectly respectable conversations when I'm replying to posts such as this, and it frustrates me no end when someone comes along who is interested only in dismissing what's been said without first reading it properly and trying to understand what's been said.

Not denying it but probably for similar reasons to yourself, I felt a certain element (who are still very active) are/were relentless in their negativity about Warne and started to bite in response to it, not because of some love of Warne more just through a genuine disbelief and irritation by such pessimistic comment. And for clarity I don’t mean the well articulated and reasoned words of a number of posters, just a certain few who won’t allow any credit to the man or his methods.
I took a week off the forum as it was genuinely intruding on my life and bringing me down, and it helped me realise that my thoughts and opinions on it are what they are, if other people feel differently that’s up to them, where I can have a reasonable conversation with people I will and if not, stuff it, people can enjoy their misery and I’ll carry on being a naively optimistic little soul.

He's a good Lague One manager with serious limitations which stop him being anything more than a League One manager, unless he proves otherwise.
At ths point though, if you dare mention his past at Championship level you're a Warne-hating outcast.

It's not one experience at one club, it's three.
Look at other clubs who's manager could only find success managing that club? Errrrm, OK? I wouldn't particularly back Jones or Wilder either, just as I wouldn't want us to appoint Aidy Boothroyd even though his achievements are bigger than Warne's. Phil Brown has  more to his CV than Warne but nobody would put him forward as the next DCFC manager
We're not a replica of Rotherham but.. we're hardly dissimilar, and this is just another "well what if things turn out better, even though I have no evidence they will" style post. There's nothing to suggest Warne will have greater backing in the Championship either. It's all just blind faith because we're doing well where Warne is comfortable.
The way YOU carry on we've appointed a complete unknown who we should have no expectation of, but the hype around the bloke has been insane, and the standards he has to live up to will naturally follow.

ALWAYS had a feeling about this guy, and can't really think of a time his signing wouldn't have been perfect for our needs.
With Collins out I'm fairly certain he's already secured the POTY vote

Full credit to everyone involved for grinding out that win what was always going to be a difficult game. Brilliant 3 points and the results went in our favour too!!
It was always going to be an ugly scrap of a game which we stood up to well and limited them to few chances, but if not for Sibley’s 90th minute winner, this post could’ve been very different.
I struggled all game to contain my anger and frustration and this started when drinking a doom bar in the harvester I saw the team news. Now the only caveat is, were the 13 players who played today the only ones fit enough to play a reasonable part in the game? That to me is the only possible justification for the team Warne picked today. Last time I was as disappointed at a team sheet was the 2019 play off final and the selection and tactics were akin to Nigel effectively playing a 4-6-0 at home to Leicester in the freezing cold in the middle of our horrific run in 2011.
Back 3? Nyambe right wing back? More defensive players on the pitch than attacking ones. No wonder we couldn’t muster a single shot in the first half (or actually until the 76th minute wasn’t it?). The balance was all wrong from minute one. Half time came and went, no changes. Then the first sub, and it’s Smith! Another defensive minded player, although to be fair he got us passing more in midfield and it moved Wilson to wing back (where he should’ve started if we’re playing that system). Then Hallelujah an attacking sub, Sibs is coming on, but it’s like for like, we still have more defensive players than attacking players in the last 15 mins when we’re trying to win the game!! Barks had run himself into the ground, but Tommo could’ve also come on to improve the midfield balance. Then we manage to work a situation good play from Mendez and a great finish from Sibbo. Job done so suppose Warne got it right in the end, and 3 points is all that mattered.
Thought the players did their best today with the tools they were given, Nyambe gave a sterling effort at right wing back, Bradley definitely MOTM, pleased for him but IMO shouldn’t have even started the game. If he wanted a back 3 then surely play Nyambe with Nelson and Cash, Wilson wing back and then either Sibley in a front 3 or Thommo in a midfield 3 with Mendez and Barks up top, would’ve given us more attacking balance and given us a more convincing performance and more comfortable victory against Stevenage who I thought were poor.
Managers like players can have bad games and personally l thought Warne had a stinker today and got away with one. But I don’t care, 3 points is all that mattered and we’re in a fantastic position which is in my view also very much down to Warne, his understanding of the league and getting the most out of a squad which I still don’t really think is suited to his playing style, people bang on about the players he’s brought in he’s had 18 months etc, we’ve been dealing in freebies for the most part, hes been unable sign the young energetic talents the likes of which Posh have been signing.
Well done to the lads today but as well as they did, I never want to see that same 11 on the pitch again unless it’s the last 5 mins trying to see out a game.
The fans today were immense!!! Many times they could’ve turned but didn’t, we’ve got to do everything we can to help these boys over the line.

Put it this way, even my mate who sits next to me and challenges my opinions about Warne who questions everything I say about our tactics and play, said he didn't understand what we were aiming for for the first hour and a bit, want sure that the subs were right  and fully expected Sibley to come on to replace Elder and was of the opinion Hourihane should have come on before  Smith.
    FFS it's gone red again.
ie... even someone very positive thought we got it wrong for the most part.
I even asked him (even after Sibley came on) would he attribute a potential victory to Warne's changes? He said no not really.
...but the way Warne has some people so wrapped around his little finger I struggle to view their opinions objectively.
See my earlier post which was laughed at... despite being pretty well balanced - by one of the regular 'absolvers' who think they can bully people into sharing their opinion of Warne.

Getting it wrong for 70 minutes but recognising that and changing it deserves some credit, but not getting it wrong in the first place would deserve far more. Warne learns but he learns slowly.
They key difference was having an actual RWB at RWB, before we changed there wasn't anyone aside from the 3CBs who looked comfortable in their role.
Bradley was excellent today against a team who never ran at him, and with a proper midfield infront of him.
That said I'd have been happy with a point today given the circumstances so I'm delighted we won
