I agree that on Saturday we were pretty much the equal of Barnsley but I have to disagree about tonight. Yes we were terrible. We may have been the better team (marginally) but that doesn't mean we were any good. I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch the "highlights" but I don't recall "more than enough chances to take 3 points". Even the shots/headers on target were pretty tame affairs (apart from the goal of course) and I don't remember their keeper having to make any serious saves.
I certainly don't expect us to win every game but, be honest, how many times have we looked decent this season - even most of the games we have won we have failed to impress? Peterborough away for half an hour, Oxford in the second half, Northampton in the first half. There may be more but I struggling.
I'm also not calling for PW to be sacked. I haven't all season but, he really needs to get this group of players performing better. Of course they need to step up their performances as well. You can't blame the manager, his team selection or his tactics entirely for the poor ball control, decision making, passing, errors, ability/desire to win second balls etc.

Pragmatic is a choice word that a lot of people use, but by very definition I find it is actually synonym for how Warne approaches football strategically.
Pragmatic, to me, would be more Rosenior - with Cashin playing 140-odd passes backwards and sideways, attempting to move players out of position. Safe, controlled, usually with limited risk. 
Warne beats the drum of chaos, nothing about how we approach games is controlled and therefore can’t at all be described as pragmatic. 

Dont bother - i tried also but was just called blinkered etc by other posters. But I dont actually give a 💩 about any of it tonight as today my son got a medical school offer after 2 years of trying and I couldnt be prouder

I think it’s evident Warne isn’t a good coach. He may be a decent manager, but a coach he is not.
His motto will be to work harder than the opposition, and then let your natural talent win games.
But that only works when the opposition aren’t set up well.
The moment we play higher calibre coached teams we get found out.
Warne would be a disaster in the Championship with us as we might be able to work as hard as the rest, but we won’t have more talented players and we won’t be well coached. 

Absolutely right.  Thought we were a bit better first half but these results have been coming for a while now as we have barely created anything from open play for weeks and it was inevitable that we couldn't keep winning games of fine margins.  NML has been over-used for the 2nd season running and if he doesn't do it we look completely devoid of ideas.
Wilson has no end product and if Ward can't even make the bench tonight I don't know why we bought him.  

I just find it so hard to get excited about our club right now. How was a relegation battle more enjoyable than us being 2nd? 
 
Maybe it’s because our manager was squeezing every last drop out of the squad we had vs what we are seeing now. 
 
The pack mentality helped a lot. 

As others have said… performances have caught up with us. I think PW has tried to get the second goal by putting on more attacking players. However, that seems to be the full sum of how we tactically attack. By just having more attacking players on 🤷🏽‍♂️

Undone by Warne talking pre-match that we are much the same as any team in the league, picking a ultra-defensive side to start in a home game against a long time winless outfit, and then (it seems) allowing Charlton to come at us second half because we can’t hold the ball for more than 3 passes. His game management skills are non existent.

We fell to pieces with the substitutions. Only one person to blame IMO. 
From 60 minutes on it looked like we had 9 men with zero shape. Zero midfield. 

I get what you’re saying, but there comes a point when serious questions have to be asked - especially when we capitulate to teams languishing near the bottom of what is an extremely poor standard league. Our disturbing inability to maintain a lead, along with the dreadful standards of protecting the ball lead many (me now included) to question the man responsible for our approach.

Changing tactics to a system that invites pressure increases the chances of something like that happening. That's on Warne.

Alfie May wanted a move to the south east to be closer to his family. It was well documented when Cheltenham agreed to sell him, it was well documented during the moves he was linked with, and he confirmed it himself during his first interview after joining them. 

Watching this team is horrible. We are never in control of anything and disappointment is only ever a Paul Warne tactical switch away.

I don’t mind the lineup with the injuries we’ve got, interested to see how Smith does with more mobility alongside him, I think he’s a bit underrated in terms of his passing. Having Adams alongside him might help us build from deep like the pass he played for NML to set up Sibley’s winner against Stevenage.
Options to change it from the bench too with Sibley, Barkhuizen, CBT and Waghorn (who I feel will have a good part to play in the run in) 

No, thought I'd leave them in peace to enjoy the game. Kids around us were very excited, more their thing than mine.
Some of the adults though, embarrassing! 

Not bad, but disappointing. 
They were a strong team, we got brushed off the ball too easily, our passing was off. They pressed very well - and it seemed to unsettle us. 
They looked beatable early doors, a bit jittery themselves but we never really pushed on after our goal.
I'm not a big fan of NML down the middle, Hourihane was lightweight in midfield (though his early deliveries were good.) 
Despite this, we more than matched them for attempts on goal, but they scored a great goal from a clearance, where was the defensive midfield? 
Then a header that looped over Wildsmith. 
One or two of our players were carrying injuries sustained during the game, we really don't seem to be having much luck on that front lately.
Or in front of goal - some poor decision making in the final third.
I hope we return to a back four on Tuesday, we looked far more balanced after Nyambe came on. But of course by then we were chasing the game and they defended their lead well.

Just a vague indication that you don't like his hat is normally enough to assume you have an invitation to his stoning in the market place. You won't need to try to hard.
