I'd give far more for 3 players scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists each, or some tactics allowing that to happen

Slightly better second half because he actually went towards the ball to win it now and then.
First half, every time, he was trying to play on the turn, get a little touch in ahead of the defender and roll it past him.
It can be clever play, and it might work against kids but a more experienced defender will read it and get to the ball ahead of him and he ends up not even touching the ball.
I like what he's trying to do but unless he develops a less passive style and a stronger physique I can't see him being a league player just yet.

You're not wrong, but the player does have to have that potential in the first place.

...because his tactics and team selections lead to us scoring fewer goals than we should which places an inordinate amount of pressure on us not to concede; the more pressure we're under the more likely we are to make mistakes, pressure which often seems compounded by his game management.
Of course you could argue that we are scoring exactly as many goals as we should given our current squad, and that last season's low goals tally was purely down to individual players not performing (I'd half agree). As you say though, new season, new start.
Moving Morrison out wide accommodate Lawrence at no. 10 isn't the sort of decision that makes me feel confident he's going to get the most out of what limited options he has available. Maybe he'll learn from that, maybe he won't.
If we want to finish mid table this season we need more draws (or preferably more wins!), to get more draws we're going to need to score more goals because we've seen time and again that we're incapable of holding onto 1-0s. To score more goals we're going to need to be more open, which risks us taking a few hammerings and having a terrible GD, but points on the board are surely more important?
Whether we lose a match 4-0, or we lose a match 2-1 in injury time the points on board are the same. If we throw away a 2 goal lead in injury time we still pick up a point. If we continue only scoring 1 goal in matches (which is the likely outcome if we keep being so cautious in the first half of games) we're probably going to continue walking away with 0 points.
Albeit in exceptional circumstances, look at the Sheff Weds game on the final day of last season. We were forced to attack at the cost of defending and we conceded 3, but the way we set up allowed the much maligned Waghorn to have starring role, allowed Patrick Roberts to finally show what he's all about after months of nothing, and we had the 'fraud' Jozwiak winning the penalty that (kind of) kept us up.
If we'd have approached that game the way we approached many others we'd not have scored those 3 goals, but in all likelihood we would still have conceded 2 or 3, and we'd have been relegated.

Needs another season to develop physically. Next season he should be ready to step up and offer backup to Bielik, Bird and Knight in our midfield 2.
I love Cashin. One of those players like JBrown who you need in your team.
You also have to remember Solomon is 2 years younger.
Borkovic. Another who had injury troubles last season. I recall he was training with the first team last pre-season. Started that U18 season on fire with 2 and 3 assists in the first 2 games. Definitely one to watch out for.

Now that it costs to watch, has the quality improved to justify such?............plus I think I've probably had more fun trying to log on and watch the game on every gadget in the house, I'm going to try logging on to the kettle next and then I'm off to do something less boring instead...........goodbye the U23's, it was a pleasure whilst it lasted.
Surely I'll still get to see the highlights of the game on Rams TV later on or tomorrow etc, or are they charging for that also?

Agree with that. BHA do look the better side. Although they have Molumby in centre mid who’s a full ROI international and played 40 odd Championship games for Millwall and Preston on loan

My interest is growing if anything. Not sure if that’s weird.
Let the expectation die completely and get some proper clarity/light at the end of the tunnel off the field and the fans will be back. We’ve been poo for the majority of the last two decades. As long as we don’t go bust, what’s one more year?
Whilst I’d rather not, for the sake of the football club, going down would only increase my interest personally.

Probably a stretch to far at the age of 39 but I wonder if there’s Any consideration from Wayne to play jags as a holding John eutace type
give the back line some much needed protection .. he’s played that role before in his career
doesn’t have to run anywhere , Stay away from the channels and plonk himself infront of the centre backs ready to step out and engage when needed
eustace did it so well it became an art
have u legs around him in the likes of shinnie, knight , Morrison etc etc
rekindle the 433 and get Morrison and Lawrence higher up the pitch

See whilst I'm against his signing... I actually think the plan was to set up this season with Baldock leading the line based on pre-season. Tactically we've gone into this season with at least partly an idea to try whatever we can to get the most out of Lawrence and it's very possible Rooney figured it would suit Lawrence better to have somebody stretch the space out in front of him/someone to run in behind when Lawrence drops deep.

Attack! Occupy their defenders! Play in their half! Score more than 1 goal!

...then pack the defence! Keep players who can control a football on! Play using pace on the counter! Keep Jozwiak as far away from the defence as possible!

He won the penalty that helped keep us in the Championship. He's nowhere near as bad as being made out. He tries his best, if that isn't good enough it's not his fault.
He's a Derby player being pilloried for no other reason than he's not what they think he should be.
Oh and he won that penalty!

Completely off topic but had a weird dream last night that England had been taken over by / sold off to the Netherlands (& possibly the Danish in a coalition). None of it makes any sense of course and it's a series of vague and poorly written ramblings, but...
It started off with me watching Derby play a match on a park (we were losing, struggling to create any clear chances all game and then missed two open goals) when some military trucks drove past us all (about 2000 fans) headed past towards some local political headquarters for talks with our 'leaders'.
People started leaving the game, walking away talking about their rights to be English and talking of a resistance. They seemed prepared for all of this (maybe they'd been to a meeting with enforced NDAs?)  but I had no idea what was happening. I sensed a vague threat that if we didn't move on we'd be in danger, so I followed them to a hideaway, or various hideaways, but I ended up getting lost along the way and ended up in an attic somewhere, or maybe it was underground, I don't know.
Nothing else happens until I'm up and awake the awake the next day.
I walk out of the hideaway and literally everything has been transformed as if I'd been asleep 5 years - new buildings, signs, banners, company names altered, everything branded with the regalia of the new country (which was still in part called England).  There are parades, bands, marches etc celebrating the new country. It was all very colourful and loud, everything nice and clean.
Most people talking Dutch, it's the law now, but at this point in the dream I remember certain 'fun' activities being legal in the Netherlands so actually I was pretty cool with this whole thing.
I was still lost and couldn't understand any signs though, as were a number of other people stumbling around looking dazed and confused - I spoke to these people and they all seemed to be ushering me to a 'safe zone' (I didn't feel unsafe). I follow their instructions and end up in a modern day speakeasy, which of course was was a local Wetherspoons, it just had to be!
    ...and then I woke up.

I read this type of criticism often about Bird & I wonder what I'm seeing so differently. The modern game rewards players that don't go to ground when defending. This is exactly what Max is so good at...his positioning & sense of 'danger' is very good which means he often tracks the runner & either intercepts the ball or eases the runner off the ball.
I rate Bird's defensive work higher than Shinnie, who is old school, goes to ground but gets more plaudits from our fans because he's high energy & they equate that with 'passion'. Unfortunately the reason for that is because he's often drifting out of position & slow to react to danger so his only option is to do 'last ditch'.
