Lets just wait for the corner flag to message rather than believe the Mail or the Sun. After all this time to just accept the 9 plus 3 suspended seems a bit odd unless potential new owners have asked that it be done.

Why is it all so ridiculously last minute ? Not a surprise that the game is happening and yet purchase deadline very close to the game - with no collection of away fan tickets at the ground.

We need the sort of cynical time wasting last 10 minutes that we’ve often suffered against us

First we see Byrne marking Ajayi (6’4) at a corner then Diangana racing Curtis for a through ball. 0-0.

Wonder if the watching West Brom scouts are writing ‘close defence down’

I know Jagielka’s getting on, but having a lie down at that point probably not ideal

You can have more than 23 professional standing players, and play them all, the only restriction is you can’t sign anyone unless you are below that number. So he’d be blocking a spot for a potential new signing if we shifted some other players out.
Or block extending Baldock and Jagielka beyond January. (We only have approval to have them to January. As it stands if Bielik and Kazim Richards return in January and we have 23 professional standing players then we can’t extend Baldock and Jagielka).

How come?
Surely if he doesn’t find a club today then we’re heading towards a ‘release’/pay off so that at least we can sign another out of contract player (and/or convert Baldock or Jagielka to a season long deal rather than just Jan)

excellent Steve Nicholson line explaining that if Plymouth loaned him till January but then he returned to us, having played league football - he would then count against our ‘official player list’.
therefore we need him out for a season (or just out). Short term loans don’t work for any of our under 23s.

Annoying and frustrating, but no striker available to start, threadbare bench, and a point nearer this year’s goal of survival. Bird and Joswiak improving every week, and 2 weeks of the international break for Baldock, Knight, Ebosele, Kazim, Bielik to get closer to a return from injury. (And the Will Hughes sale done which should bring some cash in…)

This 4.30am kick offs are not great here. i’d go with Sibley up front to run his socks off before Stretton arrives. Nervous that Forest will wind Sibley up. Brilliant to hear the noise from the stadium on Radio Derby - white riot in the background. Wish i was there…

Bogle starts for them but no sign of Max Lowe:
Verrips; Bogle, Gordon, Lopata, Robinson; Burke, Brunt, Freeman, Osborn; McGoldrick, Jebbinson.
Substitutes: Foderingham, Fleck, Basham, Brewster, Sharp, Ndiaye, Norrington-Davies.
Hopefully good for a Lowe sell-on clause. Slightly nervous that Zak Brunt will have a few points to prove against Derby.

Did the players deliberately hold their line before the start?
As SBW came to a close, all the bore were spread out in position. Ref had to wait for our players to disperse, it seems?
Was there a deliberate reason for that? Anyone know owt? ?♂️
We came together instead of taking the knee. Boro stood in position (except for their striker - who knelt)

Curious as to Rosenoir’s comment after the game that he’d played with Baldock at Brighton and therefore knew his quality. Stearman and Allsop also in the England age group squads at the same time as Rosenoir (who played for the 21s as an overage player). Jagielka obviously a teammate of Rooney’s at Everton and Morrison a teammate at Man u. Suggests the 5 ‘out of contract’ signings could be heavily down to the Rooney/Rosenoir relationships rather than the ‘recruitment team’.

If there was ever a Derby fan response to a very bright first half , this is it….’we’ll regret those untaken chances’
come on Derby, prove us doubters wrong.

Despite some excellent opinion on the forum, we’re all reading the tea leaves.
The club should either be commenting ‘there is no final decision and we are still negotiating’ or ‘a formal decision will be announced shortly’ - or at the very least briefing Steve Nicholson to say ‘I understand no decision has been made’ or ‘a decision will be announced shortly’.
The social media driven news cycle means that an unsourced story from the Mail is repeated as truth by multiple outlets in the absence of any comment to disprove it.
