  1. I look at Birmingham's transfers this season as similar to what we need. You could argue these players weren't good enough (as they have got relegated), but they bought in a similar profile of players to what we need.

6 fees paid out (including 5 for players under 25yo), for a total of 6m+.

Will we have a budget that big? Highly unlikely.

They also brought in a couple of free transfers of players aged 25-28, as well as 5 loans (mostly young players too).

Struggling to pick which game to watch. I'd love to see Leeds fail again, but then I'd also love to see Birmingham go down at home. Decisions.

I've gone for the Birmingham game - I'd love to watch them go down.

Having said that, I do rate a couple of their players, Stansfield and Miyoshi in particular. Wouldn't mind us taking a look at them this summer.

I always enjoyed Ryan Conway's stuff - it helped that he wasn't a blind faith Derby fan, so his angle was always balanced.

I know that some people took a dislike to him for some reason.

He was also very vocal about calling out racist abuse in the game. 🔗

Reckon he's a fan now though haha. He still regularly tweets about it and you could tell he was thrilled about promotion.

I wonder what outrage the PGMOL has committed against the Infamous Club today?

The delusions will go on regardless. They're now promoting themselves as Heroes Of The Resistance. It's a conspiracy, of course, because it's THEM on the receiving end this time :-

What in the Che Guevara are they talking about?

    Unbelievably cringe.

Would be an astute signing if we could get him at the right price (I doubt Blackburn would let him come out on loan to a potential rival)... not really took anybody by storm in senior teams as yet but I reckon he could easily be a top-end Champ/mid to low-end PL player in the future from what I saw at U21 level.

    I agree.

He's clearly not fancied there either - he's not featured in any of their squads since January and I don't believe he's injured.

I remember this thread going crazy about Kamil Jóźwiak. He'd be on TV playing for Poland and Mel was being advised by many here to snap him up at any cost. And many are bigging up this guy  just the same after five seasons in the lower divisions playing for Walsall, Tranmere and Charlton, that it is his fitness holding him back. SpecSavers have several branches locally.

This seems like an odd point to make considering we were in those 'lower divisions' as recently as last week.

Also, I've already seen more from CBT than I ever saw from Jozwiak in a Rams shirt. He was woeful.

  7. Niche one from me...

Our 5-1 home win against Blackpool in the Mac1 season.

They took the lead very early on in a first half that we utterly dominated. I remember being supremely confident of turning it around in the second half - it wasn't even a possibility in my mind that we weren't winning that game.

Came out second half all guns blazing, Martin hat-trick, couple of red cards for them, and an easy three points in the end.

I wonder if he had the decision to make now, whether he’d still go? He might have wanted a fresh start no matter what, but Bristol City now looks like nothing more than a sidewards step.

If we get the recruitment right then we should be able to finish above teams like Bristol City.

Yeah, bit of a head-scratcher for sure.

Unless Bristol were offering astronomical wages, or he just thought their play style was a better match, it would probably have made more sense to wait until the season's over.

  9. 14 offensive players taken in a row to start! Has something like that ever happened before?

Not kept up with the pre-draft stuff that much this year, but happy to see the Rams get Verse. Seems like a sensible pick that a lot of people had predicted.

  10. I'm 31 so can't offer any insight into retirement, but I do have a question about pensions (if I may hijack this thread).

The typical advice is to take the age at which you started putting into a pension, halve it as a percentage, and save that much of your pay each month.

So, for example, if you start at 30, you save 15% every pay check up until retirement age. And that should be enough to live comfortably upon retirement.

Does that stack up with what people have done? I'm not going to ask people the size of their pension pot, but it would be interesting to hear perhaps what's needed as a multiplier/percentage of their salary.

Also, any other financial advice for retirement?

  11. Let’s hope they do, Derbys defence isn’t the best and they could easily slip up doing that. Come on you Carlisle. 🥳

We only have the keeper with the joint most clean sheets and the fewest goals conceded in the league. 18 goals conceded at home all season.

I'd actually go so far as to say we DO have the best defence.
