I am interested to hear more, and engage on that. I only watched the highlights which is clearly not a good way to determine anything, other than acknowledge we scored 3 really good goals.

Do you think there has been a shift in approach by Warne, or are some of our new players showing enhanced skill levels, and they influenced the style of play. It seemed to me in the 9 minutes I watched, that Kenzo, Jackson, Ozoh and Yates brought a new dynamic to the team, playing more through the middle, than just getting it out wide? Genuine question, not looking for confrontation from anyone, how much of this result can be put down as a plus mark for Warne?

Players and coaches gain plus marks equally , they work together on and off the field obviously, and Saturdays performance highlighted the togetherness.

The fans enjoyed the game as they appreciated what the players were trying to do, on the pitch and they didn’t turn on them after the midweek performance in the cup realising the league games are more important.

Obviously they will be the same characters sat in their seats at PP and away, that have just come along for a moan, but the majority of fans out sing them, out praise them and see our performances differently.

The players played with a better tempo from GK and defence and it was great to see Cash back in the team, and yes the new players on this occasion were giving us an improved dynamic, the players enjoyed it, the coaches enjoyed it, and I’m sure everyone connected to the club enjoyed it.

I certainly did and if there are a few different types of folk that didn’t enjoy it, I’ll do my very best to avoid them, there choices and opinions after all.

  2. So after everyone has had a good moan at one another, are we all ready, to move back, to typing about Paul Warne, about the title of this thread?

Paul did mention his lucky clubbing gear, he’s been wearing lately as he’d misplaced his official match day tracksuit etc.

Now then, there where a few among us, that didn’t like his big hoodie and his rucksack, so what do we think about his lucky clubbing gear?

Anyone got any good pictures? if I had any, I can’t post them on here, unless I tweet them elsewhere and then copy them on here, must have maximised all my add file options, so the best I can do, is share some lovely You Tube videos with you, because I know you love them.

Oh and if you didn’t already know.

    I love Paul Warne 🖤 🐏

  3. This thread is open and staying open like the wonderful Paul Warne.

We won yesterday it was wonderful.

We are in a great position in the league table.

We continue to attract new and exciting players.

We are creating great chances and scoring great goals.

I’ve skipped loads of pages of “well you only post when we win to have a go at those folk that only post (but post all the time) about when we loose or should have lost or will loose more than we will win and we are doomed before we play again posts, and it’s within everybody’s rights to post there opinions, to share with the rest of the footballing world or any bored soul that might want to waste ones time,  reading about little Derby County and what some folk think about the one and only Paul Warne.

I love Paul Warne and I also love Norman Hull and every other Norman. 🖤 🐏

    @Norman Hull

Ps I’m not too keen on Norman’s wife but I’m sure that’s my problem and I’ll soon fall in love with her as well !

Ok, so we've got another Paul Warne thread and I'm tanked up on Wireworks whiskey (good derbyshire lad me) so here goes.

    History repeats itself, patterns emerge.

Lets look at Clough Jr v Mclaren, Clough, not exciting made some good signings of players based off of character but once we stabilised from a precarious position as a club appeared to have taken us as far as he could take us. Steve Mac arrived, and from that second half against Ipswich was awesome, but that financial commitment went up and up, we chased with the irony being two of the strongest players in that chase (Bryson and Martin) being Clough signings. A chase and gamble which at the start of each season found us spending more but in exactly the same place that Clough had us, the Championship. This gamble got greater and greater as we put more more and more on in order to reach that final goal and then our last roll of the dice v Villa came up short and we were doomed, very nearly literally.

Is Warne, Clough? We are being financially prudent, but not exciting not the Derby of TBE or Clough snr or Cox or SMc.  Will there be a point were we say he has taken us as far as he can and if we want to go up it's time to gamble? Only one man truly knows when we are in a position to do that without staring the abyss in the face again, David Clowes. Until that moment we need to rebuild and be stable and if we get 4 years of frustrating but slow growth we may need to make our peace with that. I wouldn't wish us three years ago on anyone.

    ...

Well apart from Middlesborough, Wycombe, Birmingham, Leeds, Forest ...

    Absolutely spot on @Chopper

I don’t need to read anymore of this thread as it will only get to the stage that PW isn’t speaking to the players with the correct accent, he needs to be doing what Stevie Mac does!!!

Speak to the new boy with your best Zimbabwe accent PW and come on you’ve worked with Fozzy for ages, you should be making more of an effort, put a kilt on, wear a tartan Jimmy hat and he will perform even better.

And already this lot on here are now accusing PW of being to honest to the fans, so come on PW you need to lie to the fans more, spin us a load of lies, that will rally the troops.

Enjoy the rebuild, enjoy the ride and @Chopper you are far too sensible and realistic for this forum! I’d like to say enjoy reading the forum, but then I’d be lying also! 🤣

Okay tough man. You won’t have seen endless criticism. Simply untrue. You will have seen some criticism. The same criticisms from last year and from each game we’ve seen this year. They're not reactive as they’re literally criticisms of aspects of our play which concern me rather than needlessly slagging off Warne or the team.

It isn’t unfair to suggest that they need to be rewatching how poorly they used the ball in the first half - do you think Warne won’t be using videos to show them what went wrong?

There are plenty on here with nothing positive to say and that do endlessly criticise yet you decided to come for me and my post.

Like I said, put me on ignore. I don’t have to justify my posts to you anymore.

    Now I’m a tough man?

Like you’ve already said your asking me to “put you on ignore”

Why should I put you on ignore, I’ve never put anyone ever on ignore on this forum, why should I start with you?

No you don’t have to justify your posts to me anymore.

I’d say that’s a 2-2 draw regarding posts and replies and I’d have been very happy with Derby achieving a draw away at Watford yesterday, but unfortunately in life we don’t always get the results or rewards some of us think we deserve.

But your very welcome to put me on ignore if that’s what you want to do.

Great away day, loved walking down the yellow brick road, the murals of Elton who has contributed more to this country than some of our coke snorting knuckleheads can only wet dream about,  and Graham Taylor . Nice to have a stadium still in the middle of town, great view of the pitch.  Came away pleasantly reassured, saw enough on the pitch to convince me there will be three worse teams than us,  we went toe to toe with a very good team for long periods and three points from our first three games back in the championship will do.  On to Barrow, cant think of any sex offenders from there but no doubt the meatheads will let me know

I took my boys to Watford v Brentford a few seasons ago, we loved it.

Great ground and like yourself @ziggazagga loved walking to and from the ground surrounded by good folk enjoying a good game of football.

The sun shone and we enjoyed a good day out enjoying the beautiful game of football.

I thought we deserved a draw.  We’ve obviously learnt from the Blackburn game as being too open there cost us.  They scored a cracking goal to equalise and for their second the ball could have dropped anywhere.  You can’t fault JWZ for either goal and I thought he did OK.

Given Watfords start and the fact it’s their best scoring start to a season for over 40years I thought we set up about right.  If we’d have been more open and higher up the pitch we’d have been exposed.

We obviously need a bit more in the attacking areas and it’s clear PW and everyone is working hard to get those players in this week.

Maybe I look at things too positive but I really don’t get the negativity.  3 games, against good opposition, 2 away games and 3 points and 15th position.  That’s decent while we find our feet.  Nothing is won or lost now.  At one point last season we were 11th.  Players will still come in, and other than Blackburn we’ve set up well to deal with the opposition.  A bit more luck we’d have drawn yesterday.

@FlyBritishMidland in this world positivity means your a complete nut job, a happy clapper, someone that is not capable of criticism, negativity.

Whereas in the wonderful world of negativity, it is the place to be, it’s hip, it’s cool, everyone’s doing it, so let’s all join in and find something to attack, to mock, to belittle, to hurt, to destroy, to drag down and then when we’ve all seen it fall apart, move on to something else, to get our teeth into, to get angry about, so we can feel even more miserable, by sharing all our negativity to drip into the mindset of so many readers, so hopefully they can all agree and feel miserable too.

A very successful businessman with some very successful people around him managed to save this wonderful club from the brink, then quickly got the club promoted and already the club is being very competitive in the Championship.

I might be one of a few people on here that will not fall in to the trap of the sheep mentality, of lets highlight the negativity at every possible opportunity, instead of all the many positives we have, because I’m a Ram.

I’d rather be happy than sad. That is my choice, and the one I choose.

Derby County Football Club makes me happy. I love it, and the club are moving forward positively in my eyes, and I’m sure there are many others on here, that also love the club and also see it moving forwards positively and will agree with such.

We're never going to stay up until Warne can learn how to coach a team to attack from open play. All 4 of our league goals this season have come from set pieces and we look so toothless going forward from open play.

We've got Goudmijn who's clearly technically very good, use him. Stop making them pump it wide every time we get the ball. OR, use Goudmijn to do that and it'll be a lot more controlled than Bradley/Nelson hoofing it wide 20 yards in front of the wingers in the hope they'll get there.

Also, if we sit back for 90 minutes we're never going to get set pieces to score from.

We were never getting promoted last season with Warne by about 90% of the posters on here for at least 90% of the season……..   but guess what?

I don’t endlessly criticise this team. I am consistent in my concerns ie - how we have been coached in our pressing and the lack of composure on the ball when we win it back. I’m not endlessly slating them. I’m not complaining about losing because I expect us to lose matches. I’m not complaining about effort or work rate because I think they’re giving it all. I don’t slate the ownership for not signing X Y Z because we have to live within our means.

So either put me on ignore or shut up if you’re going to accuse me of not supporting this team. Your reply was as incoherent as it gets.

So I use the exact words that you originally used in the post I replied too (plus the endless criticism bit, which I’ve seen a lot of it on here from you) which you had posted to criticise the team you support with after the Watford game and your telling me to put you on ignore, or shut up and your telling me that me reply is incoherent, we’ll that makes a lot of sense.

    Well done.

And your very welcome to meet me and tell me to my face to shut up.

I can’t wait to enjoy your charming manner.

Show them a video of every time we won the ball in the first half and what we did with it. Ask them if that’s what they’re capable of as footballers.

Total lack of quality and composure on the ball almost every time we won possession back.

Are we working on patterns of play that allow us to keep the ball long enough for our attackers to get into the opposition’s half before we go more direct?

I wish you would work on your own patterns of play and start giving out some credit were credit is due.

The only person lacking any quality and composure is you as you can’t help yourself with the endless criticism.

If your a supporter why don’t you try supporting, we could show you some videos on what you can do with your support if you like!

    Up The Rams.

We played well today, and deserved a well earned away point against a good footballing side. A couple of moments where professional footballers will know they could have done better where the difference in the result, no more than that.

    What are you capable of?

    Can you go direct?
