My dad died when we couldn't remember his blood type. As he died, he kept insisting for us to "be positive," but it's hard without him

I am currently overseas in the USA having already missed the Peterborough match and will miss the Millwall match as well as the Cardiff game and yesterday I was walking along wearing my Derby county shirt with great pride and this American chap with his wife stoped me saying how wonderful Derby county were doing and he had been following along with all the events whilst he obviously knew all about Wayne Rooney he was incredibly impressed with the way the side and the fans were performing. We talked for about all things Derby county for about 20 minutes which was lovely. He had heard of Sherwood forest but not Nottingham Forest.
The world is watching our story unfold and what a season to be a fan.

I can't disagree with this statement as I can't prove otherwise, by the same token I'm not sure this is something you can prove either.
Having visited the Sheffield Wednesday forum there isn't a lot of love on there for Steve Gibson, I would image Liverpool fans would also not agree having been on the end of his legal action along with other clubs. There is also a small matter of the Man United fanbase that have been questioning the claims in their support for Wayne Rooney.
You can only base your views on what you see and hear, and right now Forest, Leeds and bizarrely Bristol City fans have been very vocal in their support of Steve Gibson, although this will be down to rivalry....except for Bristol City which is once again just bizarre.
I don't know the guy, won't claim to know his life story and the shenanigans he may have been in, but what he has done against this club is unforgivable.
Make no mistake, he is not responsible for the position we are in, he has been responsible for prolonging the situation with his frivolous claims which let's be honest, the club were never the intended target in all this, it was Mel Morris.
Let's also not forget, nowhere would you find Boro fans complaining at the time in 18/19, Tony Pulis was the target of your frustrations and rightly so, only now that Gibson's claims became public are Boro fans out in force to support their owner, which is commendable.
We have seen the benefits of a siege mentality ourselves recently, even clubs such as Leeds which we dislike with a passion, you have to applaud the way they defend their club and anyone connected.
End of the day, it's quite possible the club could have been sold long before we entered administration had we not had these claims over us, they have been the main stumbling block. That's 12 points back on the board, no Embargos and we could potentially be challenging the top 6 with you this season.
I know Boro fans will argue justice has been served, especially if we go down, but relegation is not a punishment the EFL can just hand out.
If you want to hear tales of how great Steve is, what a gentleman and upstanding person in the community, you will not find that on here, so don't be shocked to read plenty of vitriol aimed towards Gibson and in our eyes it's fully deserved. Every single bit of it.

Just sent this to Rick Parry. I'm still yet to receive a reply to my previous email, just needed to vent my frustration. This isn't acceptable, you can't run football like this.

So let me get this right, 2 clubs were punished for breaching P&S rules, one of which was due to be asked to resubmit previously signed off accounts.
Now Bristol City, Boro and a number of other clubs look set to breach, they increase the COVID losses an extra £2.5m to help those that were heading for points deductions.
Showing exactly why an independent regulator is needed for the game.
Even if an extra £2.5m allowance wouldn't have prevented us from breaching, how is it fair to go moving the goalposts midway through the season?
Duck off with your no vendettas, I hope whoever buys this club takes the EFL to court and absolutely destroys them, QC would have a field day against this lot.

I think we'll just fall short due to the squad size, injuries and bans due to blatantly biased referees. Honestly, I can't see our players keeping up this level of effort, physically they must be drained plus every player has to be at a level of 7/10 every game. Its incredible we are in with a chance of finishing out of the bottom three.
If we do it, it'll be huge.
No one will remember who got promoted in 2022.
The world will remember that Derby County stayed up.

From memory when Newcastle had them relegations under Ashley, didn't he spend silly money to get them straight back up promoted the following season?
Think of the thousands of jobs he's saved over the years buying failed businesses. Granted, he made cuts however he made the businesses profitable.
I'm 100% behind the bloke buying the club. He might not invest behind the scenes but I think we'll still have some of the best facilities around in the next 5 years. Clear the debts, stability. Yes please.

In the meantime, a team with 8k supporters playing in this league, have two players up top that cost 34 million pounds plus another that cost 15 million in midfield. More than enough to save us with plenty left.  Add 5 loans in as well.
Derby BOOOOOOooooo. Cheats........ Unfair advantage.........  Put them in the conference .. Liquidate.....

Could it be that the administrators are already pushing for the high court and steps are being taken/in process and thus the nasties - EFL and Boro know this and are rushing out statements in a last ditch desperate attempt to get somewhere/save face as they know soon it's all going to come crashing down and be chucked out? Parasite Gibson's statement shifting the focus again back on to the stadium argument suggests their original claim is dead and their clinging on to anything by their grubby fingertips.
I think they know its over for them all.
Take them to the high court, get it laughed out and then counter sue the hell out of them all guns blazing.
We will win this. We will survive and thrive.

I had forgotten that Lee Bower is their manager, and just thought the the side had still got the spirit of Rowett running through them. Horrible. But they do play like all the other Bowyer teams, who all play just like he did. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. And dirtier than Don Revie's Leeds United. Shame the ref blanked Mengi's handball, as we would have given them the result they deserve.

I purchased my tickets for my son and myself for the Hull and PBoro home matches last week and cant wait for the games. I took a punt on the deadline being put back or a buyer taking us over but I thought the club could do with the cash up front either way.
I haven't been up to Pride Park since for an age due to work commitments (I work most weekends ) and covid so I'm really looking forward to seeing a live game again. I have taken some time off work and have booked the Chaddesden Travel lodge for both games , so I can have a good drink before and after the match and roar the Rams onto 2 wins .I couldn't get the time off for the Millwall game so I didn't do the the 3 for 2 offer unfortunately.
I live at Haverhill in Suffolk which is around 130 miles away from Pride Park so my match opportunities are limited but I make the most of them when I can and will follow the Rams in what ever division we have been in or will be in.
The main thing is we have a team to follow. Our day will come again ,of that I'm sure .COYR

Not aimed at you at all just generally but looking at this thread tonight cant get over how picky some suddenly are. It may not work out but we have an actual bidder. an actual formal bidder. Can we not just enjoy that thought tonight and analyse the amounts that will cover, why some with no knowledge seem to have taken against them already etc etc another time. I really thought the claims were going to see everyone off.  We have a bidder. Imagine the mood in Parry Towers, Gibson's grotto and other one's tacky mansion ????

To my knowledge this is the first time isn’t it that two member clubs have sought compensation for FFP/P&S abuses from another member club? If the claims do proceed to compensation being awarded, and/or ultimately bringing our Club to a close, then a very big precedent has been established. This seems like a watershed moment. You would think that there should be an extraordinary general meeting called in which all 72 member clubs are briefed as to the position, and a vote should be taken as to whether the membership are supportive of such actions being taken. They all should be aware that they might be next in the money merry-go-round, and that once the compensation box is open that each season thereafter multiple claims are likely to arise. I think that would focus a few minds if it was put to an extraordinary membership vote.
