I think you can have pop at Mel for this because it is not taking leadership. It is putting a select group of fans in a difficult situation.
What we hear will be the information that should have come from Mel/the club directly to the fans. Whatever way, it will be what they want us to hear, so why make it so complicated. Just comes across as amateurish. Whilst the idea might be noble,the execution...

Orrrr, Mel could have done an interview with Radio Derby, Sky Sports, Talksport whatever at 6 30 yesterday ... answered the same questions and we could have made our own minds up how much of what he said we believed and how much he was hiding behind confidentiality. Rather than lumbering a few fans with the responsibility. 

I'd put this on par with a drunk bloke I once saw in town drop his trousers in a doorway to take a crap but he didn't pull them down enough and filled his his own pants with what resembled the chocolate river in Willy Wonka - pure liquid.  Then he pulled them up and his own stench made him let loose from the other end- then he attempted to get in a taxi.
That may not have made you feel any better.

I never post, but I do check in pretty regularly and browse around the topics here.  This forum is such a great source for keeping up with the club, and I just felt like chiming in today to shout out David and the moderators for the job they do here.  I have the utmost respect for the way this message board is run; and following this thread over the last couple days has only encouraged more admiration of the work you all do here.  
I appreciate David's patience and leadership in drafting the summary and pursuing clarifications, and thank you for the latest update Boycie.  Once again: I really appreciate this place, and I know that the work that goes into its maintenance goes too often unappreciated.

I don’t blame David one bit, but yeah to go to a meeting as a supporter’s representative, to hear things (most of which might be covered by NDA) which he can filter, and then report back to the supporter’s group, subject to the club first overviewing and approving what he is going to report, must be the most stupid communication process you could actually imagine.

Apparently if the players are married two count for one in the EFLs very progressive eyes, which is why Rooney is performing several shotgun weddings on the training ground today. Still means the ugliest of the 9 won’t sign.

My first post on this thread but for all the posts, that’s it in a nutshell ?.
He was a fan with quite a lot of money, made through business. So he took a chance when the odds looked good but so many moves have not worked out, either through employing the wrong people, being badly advised and sanctioning some pretty bad signings. Now some will always counter the latter was supporting his manager, but the buck still stops with the money man in my opinion; it has to because he pays the bills and right now it’s led to us being in the position we are.
Someone said earlier, when Mel took over we were in a decent state, pandemic aside, we were always going to be in a worse state, for all his best intentions, aside from the academy investment (which he does deserve more than fair credit for), everything else has led us here.
I’ll be right behind whatever the team on Saturday, but I just hope Mel finds a buyer soon and we move on. Whatever the opinion of Mel, Rooney as manager, this club is bigger than one person and will be here in some form long after both are gone.
This club badly needs a new start, because right now there’s been too much going wrong for too long.

Was literally thinking about the view from the outside thread earlier and what it would be like now. It’s depressing to think where we thought the club and that team was heading after that play off final defeat. 

I think Bird likely grows into that role given time but probably isn't there yet for it. His positioning is very good (which is key) and so when he physically matures more I think you will see that.
I get your point about Sibley but the hard thing to tell with him is that he's never really had the chance to play after a bad game as he has usually just been dropped.

You could never have predicted this would have happened really could you.....club arranges closed door meeting for select supporter representatives, state that they won't be circulating any meeting minutes then said representatives subsequently get hounded for information directly after the meeting has finished.
Again another PR disaster which the club owner has to take total responsibility for.
