I watched two local teams to me (Lichfield City v Nuneaton Borough) on the BBC IPlayer in the FA Cup yesterday.

The quality of football wasn’t great and I can’t imagine Derby ever dropping to that level (even with Administration) but it did make me realise that despite all the doom and gloom over points deductions, administration and transfer bans there will always been a Derby for me to support. It’s just the league we’re playing in and quality of football may not be quite what we’re used to.

This isn’t meant to be as negative a post as it may seem but more my way of coping with uncertainty of the future we face. What will be will be so there is nothing to be gained from me fretting over what the future holds or who’s fault it will be. I just wish it could be brought to a conclusion very soon.

Please don’t generalise. I suspect that whilst the vast majority of us fans may hold Mel primarily responsible for our predicament, I believe that not many of us are being quite as blunt to tell him to “GTF out of our club”.

What, so you strongly suspect that a crime such as this is taking place where you live and do nothing?
I bloody would. Why would I want my kids walking/playing on the street with that going on? Anonymous call to police saying I strongly suspect x and y. Let the plod put it under surveillance and hopefully sort it.
If it’s innocent, no harm done.

Exactly this. There's a lot on here saying, 'I'd take 6 points' or 'I'd take 3 points' etc. Tragic that a large percentage of the fanbase would simply allow this to happen without knowing the facts of the case because they don't want to think about it anymore. Boo Hoo. This is and should be a non negotiable punishment based on facts and not something open to subjective negotiation on any part. Until we know exactly what has been breached (if anything) we shouldn't accept any 'punishment' from this shitshower of an organisation and fight on/back relentlessly.

People who complain on trip advisor etc even when they have been given everything possible to resolve their issues at the point of the problem. Why do that?  Mistakes happen, if every effort has been made to compensate and apologise why isn’t that enough? They still have to have that last underhand spiteful dig.

What a great assessment of Ed Dawes. I’m not looking forward to him coming back, he spends more time telling us what he thinks players should have done than actually commentating on the game. Eric Steele bores me to death too.

I have stopped listening to RD because I couldn’t take any more of Ed Dawes sure he’s passionate and better without Craig Rammage but no not for me. Turned on tonight reluctantly and so refreshing to hear Chris Coles the game flew by. No hyperbole no squeaking like a wronged child just good clear balanced commentary. Well done that man.

    I’ve said before on here - a good commentator should paint a picture of what’s happening - Dawes couldn’t paint a fence…..

Chris Coles is a brilliant presenter. Love listening to him regardless of what he's presenting.
Seems to be his first time commentating. A massive step up from the other fella (Fletcher?) who is usually the stand-in. And I prefer him to Dawes too, who is just too shouty and too much about his opinion rather than describing the game.

I want to know what is happening not what crap he thinks about the game or the club. It's not the Ed Dawes show but he thinks it is. He's boring with it too.

What a difference this fella makes to listening on the radio.
Finally, a commentary that provides a decent picture in your mind of where the ball is on the pitch, what the level of threat is at that moment, and doesn't leave you fearing every single moment your team isn't in possession.
Vast improvement on Ed Dawes, imo.

Spot on. In fact I’ve thought the same after every game this season.  Evan after the crazy stuff that went on late at Peterborough.
The only thing wrong with your post is that in the second paragraph the word football should have been in inverted commas. There was only one team trying to play football on Saturday.

I've got to say that the both the players & the fans have had an excuse to just hide and feel sorry for themselves this season
But they haven't done that. The teams performance on Saturday was definitely not that of a team who have given up, I was really impressed with how they kept their shape and stood up to a barrage of 'Warnock' football - and were able to look very able in attack at times.
None of the starting eleven went missing and that's got to be seen as a positive for Wayne Rooney - there's no sign of anybody just taking their paycheck like in recent years. I don't think we have anyone in the squad who could be described in that way.
And the fans played their part too. 14,000 Derby fans made as much noise as 14,000 in the BBG - fantastic
For the missing fans that haven't been to a game this season, we want you back but please play your part to support the team - it must help the players so much

Its a bit like on here. Some fans are generally supportive and encouraging others are more critical and prefer to point out the perceived faults. Both claim to be fans but I know which group I would rather have a drink with.
