Ghost of Clough got a reaction from Zag zig in The Paul Warne Poll
We haven't had the best budget in the league. Last season we were somewhere between 3rd and 6th, whilst this season, we'll be somewhere in the top 6 again, with Charlton potentially in top spot.
Clowes doesn't need to come our to clarify anything. He has already publocly stated that we have a decent budget, one which is good enough to get promoted.
We could have spent some money on transfer fees, but Warne has opted no to because he sees more value in putting that money towards wages.

All the more impressive that he's actually right footed. However, he's one of only 2 players I can recall who is willing to take freekicks and corners with either foot.

Danny Ings was a record high compensation fee, which was eventually worth about £11m (£6.5m upfront, £1.5m in add-ons, with the rest coming from a 20% sell-on).
You tend to find the tribunal panel go half way between the fee offered, and the fee requested. More clubs making transfer offers (not end of contract offers) is a key factor.
Based on past cases, I'd be surprised if we get less than what Brighton have offered.

Seems like he'll be our wing back or winger cover, depending on which formation we opt to use. Wouldn't improve our fully fit 11, but does add depth to the squad.

Some people forget we will be due compensation if he doesn't renew his contract and leaves next summer.

Ghost of Clough reacted to angieram in Match Thread: (A) Peterborough United
But that comment was pretty accurate at that point in the game, @IlsonDerby said what he was seeing, so I'm not sure what the problem is? We did look lacklustre. Cash did get beaten too easily early doors. Nelson also had an airshot and Hourihane gave the ball away badly twice in quick succession.
As the game progressed, we gradually came to terms with the threat and were very much helped that our chances first half were pretty much all finished clinically - thanks, Waggy and Cash!
The players grew in confidence as those goals went in and this led to much more assured performances from some who had struggled early doors (Hourihane, Cashin, Nelson). I will score them all highly overall, despite the early mistakes because there was a lot more good than bad.
I read the matchday thread on the way home and it made good reading as people gradually celebrated the massive improvement. Some of the more negative posters were even laughing at their earlier comments.
The only posts that spoil the read for me are those persisting in calling out posters who have a different viewpoint to them, rather than putting the alternative view or disputing a fact.
There are very few genuine trolls on here.

Ghost of Clough reacted to May Contain Nuts in Match Thread: (A) Peterborough United
Just had a look at the posts. The mods don't go around deleting posts for no reason, so unless there was anything personal toward the manager everything that was posted is still there.
Mostly just people bemoaning the quality of our play to that point, the poor defending and the ease at which Peterborough were going through midfield. A couple of suggestions as to what we could do to stop them coming at us.
I think that's called... accurately observing and discussing what had happened in the game to that point. Heaven forbid.
In addition there are a couple of people questioning how such good players were looking like poor players, and a couple of sarcy comments about how the players are being managed, but not really anything that would come close to being considered 'wrist slashing' by anyone without an agenda to stir up division.
I propose that we stop having match threads that stay open during the course of the game. Pre and post game comments only in future, so nobody can embarrass themselves by having natural human reactions to unfolding events.

I mean..... I didn't come to the conclusion of not think he was the right person for the job off the back of a few bad games nor will I change my mind after to two wins. I didn't think he was the right person after last season.
But of course I enjoy winning and I would like to be wrong about Warne and have said as much on several occasions.

League 1 loans have to run from transfer window to transfer window, so no month long loans
