Naughty from the social media team posting the corner flag today, thought he was gone.

Why would he get sacked at this point? He'll get this season at least, unlesswe go on something like a 5 game losing streak. Even then, he'd probably be given time to turn results round in time for the playoffs.

Best I could tell, we started in a back 4, went to a back 3 when Sibley came on (at left wingback), then went back to a 4 when CBT came on (Sibley went into midfield and Cashin went back to left back).

In summary, it became a bit of a mess in the 2nd half, with the fans and seemingly the players unsure of where everyone was meant to be?

MIGHT being the operative word , in your view and most anti warne posters liam and warne set up and play in a totally different way , now the way warne did things brought out a fantastic season from mc g , there is no garuantee that liams way would have done the same , it’s all ifs and buts and again personal opinion/ choice , I really didn’t enjoy what liam was serving up apart from the promising charlton away 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rosenior with McGoldrick on the pitch: 6 goals scored, 3 against (274 mins played)

Without: 3 goals scored, 6 goals against (536 mins played)

It also took 5 games under Warne for McGoldrick to be fit enough to last at least an hour - we picked up just 7 points from those games. It's no coinicidence our good run under Warne then started when McGoldrick was up to speed and I have no doubt it would have been the same under any manager.

People have always used the away record as a stick to beat Liam with.  We only played four away games in the league and had barely had a pre-season.  It's too small a sample size to judge.

We absolutely battered Charlton and lost 1 nil.  Battered Fleetwood and couldn't put the ball in the net.  Admittedly we were poor against Shrewsbury and Lincoln but by God we've had worse performances under Warne and far more often as well.

We still had 23 shots across those 2 "poor" games as well. Another 15 against Charlton and 27(!!!) against Fleetwood.

The man is frightened of his own shadow. Why did Gayle get subbed?

Because it was his first start since November?

    Can't defend that.

    Smith substitution was madness.

Because it was also his first start since November?

I know of 1 first team player who was, allegedly, far from complementary about Warne when out drinking with someone I know recently.

Assuming that's true, it shows that some of the players must think similar things too.

I know 1 player was very unsettled at the start of the season.

I get the impression Warne has his favourites. Anyone else is dropped quickly when one of his favourites is available again, despite how they may have been performing. I think it would be reasonable to understand a player being upset if they felt they were wrongfully dropped or not given a fair chance.

We have Ward amd Fornah who are seemingly being frozen out of the squad. Thompson impressed in pre-season but was reluctantly put into midfield at the start of the season "because there wasn't anyone else", and appears to be back in the same situation now. Sibley still needs to make an impact in back to back games to stay in the team, and now isn't even fancied at LB over a CB. Barkhuizen likewise- only 1 start all month, despite scoring 4 and assisting 3 in 8 ganes when given a consistent run of starts in December and January.

He gets sentenced in June and could get as much as 170 years jail time if the various sentences are to be served consecutively rather than concurrently.

What I don't understand is Comrade 86 saying he DID have the money and DID transfer the funds and then, in a reply to C86, Sage says he didn't have the money.

Which of the two is correct?

He did have money but it wasn't his money. Hence why he could prove the Quantuma and the EFL that he could afford to buy and run us, but the transfer got stopped when he tried to send the money over.

Was Buchanan a regular centre half?

He was typically the LCB in the back 3 of our 18/19 U18 side and it was his main position for a couple of years before that too.

Liverpool’s bench full of teenagers….. I’m a Warne fan but perhaps he needs to have a rethink about blooding some of the youngsters. Well I definitely believe he does!

Clark, Quansah, McConnell and Danns brought on to win a League Cup Final.

Meanwhile, we don't even bring Brown off the bench against Bradford, nor DRobinson, Brown, Cox, Weston against Crewe.

Is his remit to get us promoted within 2 years? I doubt it.

I reckon his remit is aligned to DC’s ambitions - get us promoted and become an established Championship team within 5 years. I doubt there was any deadline on when promotion needs to be achieved but, if there was, I wouldn’t think it was the first two years given we would have restricted by the agreed business plan in all that time.

”Established Championship team” is open to interpretation but I think it probably means, at a minimum, avoid relegation or maybe avoid a serious battle against relegation. So, on that basis, if we were promoted after three seasons and were comfortable in the final season of Warne’s contract, he would have achieved DC’s short term objectives.

Personally, I really don’t see it as black and white as no promotion = the sack. It depends entirely on the nature of our failure to go up this year. At one extreme, if we miss out on 2nd place on goal difference and narrowly lose the play off final then there is no way he would be sacked. Even if we finish as low as 6th and fail to make it through the play offs I wouldn’t be sacking him.

I'm fairly certain it was a 4 year plan for us to be established in the Championship upon Warne being appointed woth a 4 year contract.

That suggests 1 year in the Championship avoiding relegation, followed byba second 'establishing' ourselves as a side not fighting relegation. That in turn means promotion within 2 years (those season at the latest).

Of course, that doesn't mean plans can't change, but in this scenario, it would be 2 years in a row Warne has failed to meet expectations. Last year being a top 6 finish (with a chance of promotion), and this season being promotion.

Despite this, we more than matched them for attempts on goal, but they scored a great goal from a clearance, where was the defensive midfield?

Hourihane decided to drop in as a 4th CB, then far too slow to close the man down when we initially headed clear - it was his man who scored.

I don't recall where Adams at the time. He may have been pulled out towards the RB spot though?
