What the hell did Rooney say at the start of the match ….. ok lads I want you to go out there …. Play slow …. pass round aimlessly at the back concede a couple of goals dont worry about finding the net ourselves … be lazy Joz Sib Lawro…. What a shambles …. The worst part is I see no way out of this same story every game …. The best thing to bet on atm is which half are Derby not going to turn up to …. Maybe Rooney should say the game lasts 90 minutes at the start….  so disappointing see you all for the next dreadful match

So basically we didn't turn up for the first half at all, Blackburn should have buried the game by the whistle.
Second half we started to play but still lacked any urgency for a team 2 down. By time we got the ball into a dangerous area they had 10 men behind the ball.
Festy rattled them with his pace, should have been on the pitch a lot earlier as it was clear we needed something to break through the lines.
Blackburns physios covered more ground in the second half as players were dropping like flies, pathetic, but they played the game. Pretty sure we could have had another couple mins added on.
End of the day you can't just turn up for 45 minutes and expect to win games.
Curtis Davies going for the Ballon D'or and I'm all for it.

How many years have to go by before people move on, though? 5? 10? 15?

    An excellent post.
It would be wonderful to put this point to the EFL (perhaps without the insults ?) and get some kind of answer. However, as well know, this isn’t possible and, even if you could ask the question, they wouldn’t answer it.

I know parachute payments are universally hated but the principle reason for them is to aid promoted clubs from the Championship. The Premier League is the hardest to stay in after promotion and requires a huge increase in wages just to compete. The increased wages cannot possibly be sustained when relegated were they not to be given parachute payments to cover 2/3/4 year contracts. Instead clubs would either spend less and increase the chance of relegation, or gamble and hope it pays off (we know how that works when it fails).
Despite the parachute payments, relegated clubs from the Premier League still only have a roughly 1 in 3 chance of getting promoted the next season which is not that different to the other leagues.
The problem is not parachute payments, the problem is that the 20th best club in the country gets £95m in TV money and the 21st gets about £8m (and that includes solidarity payments from the Premier League).
Back on topic - our problem isn't the EFL, its Mel Morris.

The EFL gave up any pretence at impartiality when they were "disappointed" and found it "regrettable" when Derby were only fined for the accounts amortisation stuff. That is not the language of a professional body.
The mask slipped, small minded fearful men who are in thrall to Gibson, Parry and Maguire.

Derby - Hey, here's our accounts. By the way, we used an alternate method involving amortisation.
EFL - Hmmmmmm. It's unusual, but fine, we'll sign off on them.
    *Years Later*
EFL - Lol, changed our mind, now they aren't ok.

Derby - We've sold our stadium and will add the profit to our accounts.
EFL - We don't like that, but it's not against the rules. We disagree with the valuation of the stadium however.
Derby - OK. Here's a valuation from an independent company who provide a similar figure.
EFL - Nope, we don't agree with the professionals, we'll begin disciplinary action.

Independent panel - Derby didn't do anything wrong.
EFL - Meh, what do you guys know. We will appeal with a new independent panel.
New independent panel - We believe a 100k fine is appropriate for Derby's wrongdoing.
EFL - Nah, we don't like that, let's appeal. Oh and let's also try and relegate them after the season is finished.

Derby - Hey, we've renewed Jack Marriott's contract.
    EFL - OK.
    *6 months later*
EFL - Changed our mind. Marriott is free to leave. And no, you can't sign anyone to replace him, Waghorn, or any of the other players who left.
    *Months later*
Derby - Please, we don't have enough senior players to even field a team, just let us sign some.
EFL - *Sigh* Fine, but only 4 or 5. And no more than 4.5k a week! And if you re-sign players like Davies or Wisdom they will take up 1 of those spots.

Derby - Hey we're having some injury problems and would like to use a couple of young lads, but they'll then count as senior players. Can you be a little lenient with this?
    EFL - Lol no.

I'm really relieved the EFL are trying to help us and make us work. It's really nice to know they have our back.

I should, in all honesty, be receptive to alternative views. An open mind is a good thing. Partisanship is by definition, one eyed.
Yet where is the honesty and open mindedness from the EFL that has a fixed, slanted playing field via parachute payments and then whips none parachute clubs for daring to challenge. ? Their “perspective”  is worthless while the double standards persist.
They are complicit with the premier league in running a bent competition in the championship while trumpeting their own supposed moral superiority - which is baseless.
Jobsworths, pompous, self important, self promoting, illogical, biased and about as useful as the famed one legged man at a but kicking party with a big fat zero in the integrity stakes.

At which point? Do you mean recently?
Protests were never going to achieve anything when Mel Morris was trying to sell anyway - what was the point?
Our aims are to give supporters a voice (fuller aims are above in this thread). If the club won't talk to us, those aims can't be achieved.

Hello Jim, I am the Moderator that is being referred to in the thread. There are also a few DCFC fans members who have joined recently and who may wish to say who they are - or not!
I have been posting your public updates on a thread, as well as the link showing how to join,  @WestLondonRam so not sure how you missed that. It was very simple to join, sets you back the princely sum of £2.
I asked @David if I could post Rams Trust updates and he warned me at the time I would get some flack for it. He was right!
It's early days for me, but I will repeat what I said in the other thread,  that I have found Rams Trust welcoming, and far from being a closed shop, is actively encouraging more fans to get involved.
I think people get a bit too concerned about Rams Trust being the only official supporters Trust. That is a fact, it has a constitution,  it is registered with the Football Supporters Association, it has clear aims and objectives. For this reason it is understandable that they are often approached through official channels. However, Derby County themselves have always recognised that there are a number of ways that supporters views need to be heard and their Suppirters Charter recognises this and includes a range of representatives, both official groups and a few key individuals.

    sorry I disagree.
As Unlucky Alf says where have RT been for 5/6 years? We didn't ask them to field questions but maybe point us in the correct direction instead of saying anyone can Join Ramstrust. I don't expect anyone to speak for me and I am more than capable of putting my point across if need be but where?
I don't think anyone can say they haven't represented it's Members it just doesn't represent the supporters as a whole from what I saw. Perhaps taking a member from all fan groups, I.e. Here, 1884, protest group, stands representative will help to reach the wider audience and represent more fans as a whole.
To be fair to Jim in roads look to be already taking shape by having our Mods on there. The other thing I would like to see is a Live stream or written stream of notes from the meetings, If that already happens can you point out where we can find them?

One of our MODs has recently joined the Rans Trust. I won't say who as it is up to them, not sure if they would want to be as as the 'DCFC Fans Rep' on RamsTrust.
Even if we as posters may individually have doubts about/issues with RamsTrust, i hope we can engage with Jim and RT in terms of moving forward rather than settling scores.
If people don't like the way RamsTrust is being run or that it doesn't represent them, they could try joining instead of mardying from the sidelines. That isn't aimed at anyone, just a general thought.

The thing that interests me is when it’s all done and dusted what can we actually do within P and S. No matter who we get, this league is handicapped. I say that because it isn’t a level playing field while parachute payments exist. You can’t buy the league because relegated clubs have booked most of the seats at the top. And if you try and push in, you get penalised
ok so we are allowed to lose 39 million over 3 years. I seriously doubt that any even mildly ambitious none parachute club can actually make much profit and owners can’t inject capital at will
At our best we had an income of 30 million PA Then we can be subbed 13 million PA ..(assuming generous owner) so total dosh technically available maxes out at   43 million
Can we run the club on that ? . Not a penny more .. ever !
So … what are the costs of running a new lean mean DCFC ? Including transfer budget.
    15 players at 500 k PA = 7.5 million
    20 players at 250 k PA = 5.0 million
Other staff dunno .. let’s say 1.5 million
    Rent  = let’s say 3% of Mels 80 million = 2.5 million
That’s 16 million ish  .. now there’s a factor you could add for all other costs .. energy, bus rates, policing, maintenance, professional services, it’s difficult to guess because wages are so top heavy in football but I can’t help feeling it’s going to be close to double the wages and venue costs
My conclusion is that post Covid wages and transfer fees will be more manageable .. If we get the right sponsorship deals, a generous owner and crowds return to normal then we could be sustainable and maybe be able to sign a decent player or 2 each year.

If Wycombe are successful we should immediately instruct our lawyers to sue Villa and QPR.
If Wycombe are suing us for 6 million I'm guessing suing Villa and QPR for 100 million a piece for lost revenue should be fair.
I'd also sue Ipswich for one of their players thuggishly breaking one of our players legs.

If it turns out that there is more than one interested party at the end of the due diligence process (ie people haven’t been scared off), do you think the administrators will just plump for the party with the most cash (I’m assuming the asking price will be the same whoever is bidding) or will they determine who would be the ‘best fit’ to run the club in the long term?
Obviously a moot point if it comes down to a bidding war, but if there’s more than one who can meet the asking price, I wonder what the criteria will be.
