Did Liz Truss help you with these figures?  There is no way on this earth the EFL are going to allow us to lose £7m under a business plan, it would be like sticking 2 fingers up to all the creditors.  I think you guess er sorry calculation on both wages and Amortisation figures are massively over....
I imagine we will be close to breaking even or running at a slight profit, Clowes has said there is wiggle room in the budget, there wouldn't be if we are already predicted to have a £7m loss.  I just can't see it!!!!

Hummm, your last sentence doesn’t quite ring true for me (hey I have absolutely zero info just gut instinct, related to Clowes, the EFL and common sense. .

If as you suggest cash and accountancy losses are similar do any of us really think nearly 1 million per month is draining out of the clubs bank account ? Would Clowes accept that ? would the EFL accept that ? . .. I doubt it. My guess is we ARE close to breaking even in cash terms but there are some hefty items weighing on us .. Bielik, Joz, increased utilities and maybe a one off to get Warne in. I’d also venture to suggest that no player - Bielik and old contracts apart - is earning more than 5k a week. … I concede there might be bonuses/top ups for Hourihan and Mc G or some deals in the background but the base load payroll will now be sensible.

You've stated that you'll show us the numbers, they're actually your numbers, based on your assumptions, unless you have inside knowledge of the running of the club. I would probably agree with your revenue figures, but your costs are based on many variables.
The player wage bill has been massively slashed, we are led to believe that new contracts are around £4-£5k per week equating to a squad cost of around £100k per week or £5m per year. Even allowing for the original 5 players being on higher figures and the youngsters wages, I think that £10m could be a couple of million high. I wouldn't think that Warne and his team were on massive contracts at Rotherham, so compensation wouldn't be at Lampard levels. Amortisation is awkward figure to add to the costs in a situation where the club has been bought out. I would think that admin expenses have also been cut back.
As I have previously stated the club's income is a lot more than would have been conservatively estimated at the time of the take over. TV money from the FA Cup games and gate money from Anfield would amount to around £500k. Added to this figure is the extra gate money coming in. It would be fair to assume that the conservative business plan would have been based on crowds averaging around 17-18,000 and our actual figures are about 10,000 higher. Most of these 10,000 are non season ticket sales and are full adults, who pay £21 in the mid priced seats for the lowest category games. That would equate to around £200k extra per match or £4.6m per season, even taking out extra costs and some cheaper tickets, this figure is still likely to be in excess of £3m and when you add on the £500k from the cups, we're looking at £3.5m above the business plan.
If, after being £3.5m better off and still losing £7m, are you saying that the EFL accepted a business plan expecting us to lose over £10m per season?

During the anguish abour the survival of DCFC, the content of this forum was fantastic - a tribute to the club's traditions and the fanbase.
I doubt the Samaritans could have done a better job in comforting the many loyal fans deeply anguished by events and the possible liquidation of one of the beating hearts of the Derby and Derbyshire community.
This forum also created and published many calls to action nationally and locally which attracted so many favourable headlines and must have played their part in the eventual rescue of the Club.
Our national prestige soared, generated a lot of national sympathy and support, and led to tremendous gates and match support even when we lost.
However, since LR was replaced by PW, I wonder if I am alone in noticing a downward spiral in the objectives and quality of some contributions. Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions, but do we not need to temper the expression of them by considering the effect on the DCFC owner, staff and players who are becoming the target of some vitriol?
Some of us seem to forget our debt to our new owner. And seem to forget the laborious keep-ball of LR which we had endured for more than the current season and which had led to so many away defeats and the inability even to score a goal for match after match.
This forgetfulness is accompanied by totally unrealistic expectations of what the new owner and manager should achieve. And ignorance of just how effective League 1 opposition can be when pumped up by the adrenalin of facing the high and not so mighty DCFC.
It is sadly well known that social media can inflict a lot of harm on its targets. For the sake of our Club and those on its payroll and the person who bankrolls our payroll, may I plead for some moderation and realism please?

From what I could see yesterday a error from Curtis cost us a point, which he has stuck his hand up to.  We looked the better team in spells, although I would say the result was fair as Ipswich were the better team over the 90.
The team that finishes above them with win the league, we have a thin depleted sqaud and with injuries to contend with.  Let's come back down to earth and keep our feet on the ground, I can see with a little recruitment in January us making the play-offs, considering where we were 4 months ago that would be one a hell of an achievement......

I mean, define average? We are in League One. They and Plymouth are by far the best teams I’ve seen Derby play this season.
They were very good League One standard sides.
Plymouth and Ipswich both looked fitter, stronger, more organized and above all better on the ball.
I saw a gap between us. A gap we aren’t going to close this season.
Still, I’m not writing the season off. Automatic promotion may be beyond us but I see no reason not to challenge for a top six spot.
Portsmouth and Posh know their way around this league. Sheffield Wednesday will be top six too.
But that leaves a spot. Bolton, Charlton and Barnsley will probably be contenders but I see no reason why with a decent January we can’t finish above them.

For what its worth, I have seen CEOs and CFOs in big corporates act in very authoritarion ways, usually one or the other calls the shots and the remainder of the Exec Directors fall into line.  Those that stand out are soon replaced, to be fair, ever seen a Board appointment move on within 12 months of appointment?  It happens!
Regarding Pearce, Im sure he's had a lot of sleepless nights wrestling with his conscious, but, like most of us he has a mortgage to pay.
He may also of weighed up, that he was better sticking around to explain his side of the story to a new owner, rather than disappearing a short time before the Administration announcement, no doubt also gagged with an NDA.  Wouldn't be a great entry on his CV, surving admin and returning the club to the Championship or even better still the Premier League though would be!
As someone who wanted him gone, I think he deserves a second chance if DC is prepared to give him one, after all he knows where all the dead bodies are buried!

Thats a big statement to make with no apparent evidence.
Its obvious Mel was calling the shots and Pearce had 2 options.  Leave a lucrative well paid job, or keep stum.  Morris may have convinced him like he did us, that he would continue to fund the club.
All fair points, but, a man scared of losing his livelyhood may be tempted to keep quiet, I'm pretty sure he will have been tied to an NDA too...
The stadium sale was the way of staying within FFP, other clubs have done this too.

Whilst I would never publicly show I don’t like him, I really don’t like him.
He’s a qualified accountant. He would have known more than anybody else, including Mel Morris, how dire the situation was. His role as CFO was to stop exactly what happened from happening.
If Mel went totally against what he advised then I’d fully expect him to walk out of the club in protest. He could have walked in to another job without any problems at all and the least he could do after it all went bang was sort out the mess.
I’ve worked in a PLC before where I’ve seen the Finance Director walk as they didn’t agree with underhand practices of the company which was forced from the shareholders.
There’s how many businesses that have got absolute peanuts in the pound from Derby as a result of what they did. Those responsible should not be allowed to be a director at another company again.
As I’ve said, I’ll never boo or do anything to cause a negative atmosphere, but he will never be a Ram to me.

And yes, I’m sure they did say there’d be no issue because they knew they’d sold the stadium. Does that make it ok? Absolutely not. Look at all the problems selling the stadium caused. And it was only done because they knew they were going to break FFP.

EFL = Vindictive, flawed organisation with sub standard ethics and morality. Manipulated by self interested parties rather than being a neutral governing body
Each one of all the above plays a part;  but the EFL had it in their power to greatly limit the damage. They didn’t and nor did they act in an even handed measured way, despite their protestations.
