Its amazing how after  match we have the choice to talk about all the good stuff, or moan about the poor play, or who has let us down. Today we didn't have that choice. There is absolutely nothing to complain about from a derby point of view. And yes, like many I was worried by the team selection, enforced as it was, but it turned out to be "nay worries", as they say in Scotland.
Roberts is a good option to have at right back, and Curtis was safe enough, in part because of the lack of pace up front from Bolton. I know they have lost a couple of important players up front, but I don't think pace is their game. Their tactics were to lump it to the big man, or into the channels, and it didn't work. An important factor in this was our pressing, which I don't think I have seen as effectively employed before, especially as we kept it up all match. Thank you Jason knight for making it possible, and the new fitness regime!
A couple of times I had to wonder how Bolton managed to be in 5th place because they didn't really perform. The nearest to an attempt on goal in the first half was a cross that bobbled through to Wildsmith, and their only shots on target were at 56  minutes, 73 minutes and the goal, which should have been a goal kick. But they didn't perform because we didn't let them! And we have done that many times this season, particularly since Mr Warne took up residence.
NML had his defender on toast all match long, Max Bird has stepped up a gear, and our longing for him to toughen up was answered in only the 2nd minute when he bullied a Bolton player off the ball near the corner flag. And his pass to set up the second goal was an absolute peach. I've already mentioned Knighty, and it is good to see Hourihane, who was my least favourite  putting himself about with a bit of passion - I don't know what happened, but he has been a different player since he came back from injury. I don't think there is player who can be singled out for playing badly - yet again. And it is getting to what it was like for Mac 1, and indeed the days of Brian Clough and then Dave Mackay, when we didn't wonder if we could win or draw, but how may we were gong to win by!
Today was a great football match, and I went absolutely bonkers berserk for both the goals - something I haven't done for years, because they were two tremendous goals. I was supposed to walk back to the car after the match, but got there without knowing how - almost as though I had floated all the way back! What a feeling!

To be honest, I'm just glad we've got a team to support so the kit isn't a biggie for me. None of them are amazing but none that bad either.  Like someone said earlier, once you've seen them in the flesh and seen the team playing in them you get into them more. If I had to choose my favourite now, would probably go for the black away kit...

Was only a matter of time, Warne won’t need a brolly in the dugout that’s for sure.

Assuming that it isn't Liam's idea not to continue, or that he isn't off to pastures new anyway, this all seems a bit sad really.  I don't think he's done anything particularly wrong (I know some people seem to expect us to win every game 5-0 and they're going to continue to be disappointed whoever comes in and fails to achieve that), he's stuck with us when he might not have needed to and he's obviously a bright chap.
Again, it might all come out that Liam is ok with it and all that, but as with some decisions under Mel, this all seems a bit premature.  I was looking forward to a bit of stability and seeing if he could build a squad over a period of time.
Oh well, while not particularly excited about this Warne bloke I'll give him the same chance I give everybody. I just hope he isn't another Rowett as watching that nearly made me give up my season ticket (in fact, it nearly made me give up on football altogether).

Very strange. I think he's done a decent job. If Warne is available, obviously you can't look past a manager with such a proven track record of getting a team promoted, but it's tough on Liam.
If Liam wanted to take a step back and does want to stay at the club then that's another thing. We can only be very grateful for his service to our club during these most tumultuous of times. I honestly just want the best for him and his career at this stage, maybe this will prove to be it? I don't know.
How we go about getting Warne from Rotherham is a completely different story, but I'm sure we don't make this move without some form of deal in place.

Balanced and level-headed reply. Agree with your sentiment. Two wobbles don't spell a crisis. We have a manager who cares and players who care. Hence I belive things will come good in the greater season.

Depressing result last night and there is no denying that football is a results based business. A manager is judged on results and that is true not just in football, so Liam wake up and smell the coffee. If that means playing percentage football for a while, looking for knock downs and 2nd balls, then so be it there is no shame in it and it is still football, though not as we know it.
However in the interest of balance our two offside decisions look very dubious on the highlights, particularly the NML decision. Their penalty was harsh but JK should be better than that, especially in our own box. Their 2nd was very scruffy.
We had more than 60% of the possession, a number of good chances and yet lost 2-0. Football can be tough at times and while we are trying to play in the “right” way we need a win
Who would be a football manager eh!

OK, I'll start us off. Particularly excited about Tom Barkhuizen. Always thought he was an exciting player with the potential to do something that will be a match-winner.

Hourihane, when he scores goals they usually enter the goal of the month competitions.

Great to see all this optimism. Personally, with my objective hat on, I think we'll finish just outside the play-offs, so plumped to 7-10. A couple more key signings and would revise it to "Play-offs".
