It's a fake account which has been peddling nonsense for several years. No such journalist has worked for the Guardian and they've stolen the pic from this woman's LinkedIn

Hey Mickey, it’s Paul - yeah Paul Warne. I’m getting the band back together. Yeah. Matty and Josh, they’ve signed up. Dan? Dan Barlasser, yeah I’m trying. I think he’ll be fine. What about it Mickey? One more time, yeah…..

All Derby since half time, pressing well, won a couple of corners, Collins involved more than most will give him credit for.

It’s wild that one year removed from being League Two’s POTY that he’s moved on a free transfer - it’s been a whirlwind 12 months for him. I really like the value in this one. I think Elder and Bradley are the best two signings we’ve made so far, but feel like this has the potential to be a wildcard.
I can definitely see him beating out Joe Ward for a regular spot in the team.

Whilst he might not be an inspirational signing (should this come to fruition), until he's in a Rams shirt I'd reserve judgement. McGoldrick wasn't a 20 goal a season striker until last his unprecedented performance for us 2022/23:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_McGoldrick
Strikers score goals in teams doing well and when they get good service. If he's been playing in struggling to middling sides for most of his career that has a major impact on his return. Either way its another option in the squad which we definitely need as it stands. I know very little about him as a footballer so I reserve judgement. He's clearly not going to be a signing for the future considering his age, so he's a squad player at best, and a known quantity to Warne and the coaching staff should this be completed.

Better than expected especially given how quickly a squad was thrown together & Rosenior being a novice manager...two key factors that seem to be conveniently ignored by some.
I did think we'd start slowly, look very disjointed & probably be just outside the top 10 until around Christmas. Aside from Lincoln on Tuesday, we've played well in spells in all our league games which is a credit to Rosenior & his staff. Getting a batch of new players to settle quickly & get results is very difficult...see also Forest, Notts
Not unreasonably Rosenior will not know his best XI as a) we're 9 league games in & b) some of our players still arent matchfit or haven't been available throughout the season (Chester/McGoldrick/Dobbin/Korey Smith). In terms of changes, I'm reluctantly coming to the conclusion Bird & Hourihane can't play together but dont necessarily think Knight is the silver bullet. I've been pleased that we've started to mix up our restarts instead of passing it out every time. Predictability is never a good trait.
The away goal stat is increasingly being used by those not happy with Rosenior...I would add we have been very unlucky not to score & win away yet, Charlton in particular springs to mind. It will turn for us though as we are creating chances. Worth reminding all that Arthur Cox's away record in the first part of 84/85 was appalling, it does take time to get that fluidity on the road as a new side.
From here on in I'd like to think we can finish 5th/6th & secure a playoff spot. Top 2 is probably out of reach given the foundations clubs like Ipswich, Plymouth Portsmouth have built over last 2/3 years.

Better than expected to be honest.
We all know what state the squad was in back at the start of July without repeating it, the recruits were better than I initially expected yet I still couldn’t buy into the idea we would walk League 1.
I thought we would be around 17th, 18th now and hopefully starting to look like a team as we near Christmas, best case scenario pushing for a play off place.
Being Derby County, having 2 league titles in the cabinet with an FA cup and 30,000 seater stadium doesn’t count for anything in this league, all my expectations have been based on the situation and the time it takes to build a team. You can sign 22 players in a matter of weeks, ask Cooper, yet building a team on and off the pitch takes time.
To be sat 7th, level on points with 6th, 7pts off top is incredible really in my opinion and if this is the start of the journey, I think we may not be down here for as long as I first feared.

Next 2 games will be key. We will be 10 games in by then. Ideally both games need to be won as we are at home to Wycombe and Cheltenham.
If things don't improve and performances pickup then I think changes with the coaching team have to come into play (and doesn't necessarily mean to sack LR but to bring in an experienced head for some support). I would like to LR to succeed, he has to be given credit for bringing in these players and ultimately elevating people's expectations because of the calibre of these players. I also agree we have to take into account what we've been through as a club, and be thankful that we survived, but like everyone else it's inevitable we want success..... We are Derby County ?.
Tactical changes are clearly needed as the shape sounded off tonight, and I was listening to BBC Radio Lincoln commentary due to my location. Obviously they agreed with the penalty award and offside decisions on our goals, but also pointed out the passages of play where we controlled the ball for periods but with no end product. Cashin was singled out as having a stinker by the commentators. Always interesting to get another perspective.
Maybe take stock again after the next couple of games, sometimes a bit of patience can bare fruit (he says crossing his fingers).
