That's the crucial data - of 7500 people in hospital in the UK with a Covid diagnosis, 129 had the Omicron mutation as of December 18th.
If (big if) the Omicron hospitalisation figure stays low or stays within levels that the NHS can handle (as it has in South Africa) and deaths (currently 14 with Omicron) also stay low, then we don't have to do anything dramatic.  The numbers infected will inevitably rise but it doesn't necessarily follow that hospitalisation numbers rise too.

Lies, damn lies and statistics.  Context is all - are Arthur and Jim really only our 11th and 12th best managers?  I think most of us, even those not alive in those days, would have both in our top 4, for what they achieved over a long period of time.
Whatever else our Wayne has done or not done I cannot recall a single Derby manager having to face all the on and off field issues that he has had to face, and not over a short period of time either.  That he has done so with some success (and I include staying up last season as success), with a commitment that I didn't believe he would show and a drive and determination that all of our younger players would do well to note and apply during their own careers and I have him way up the list.  Add some onfield success and he will be in the top 5.

I think it's too late for us to claim against those clubs - Villa haven’t even been charged because their takeover muddied the waters - but QPR, Leicester and Bournemouth's "punishments" were delayed by a considerable period because QPR challenged the legality of FFP and the other two delayed settling with the EFL (they were in the PL and so a punishment couldn't be imposed) pending the outcome of QPR's legal challenge.
The biggest issue with FFP for me is that there is no integrated policy between the EFL and the PL, which has allowed "successful" cheats to benefit from their cheating. Compromise financial settlements are completely inadequate. How does Leicester's punishment relate to what is being done to DCFC? There's no comparison. The PL are 99% to blame for this imbalance by refusing to cooperate with the EFL; it's a scandal which gets little coverage in the media.

I think if it was the difference between us surviving or not, very very few season ticket holders would expect/demand refunds for any matches played behind closed doors. I know I wouldn't.

I thought I was going mad. Saw the tweets last night and come on here this morning and seen so many negative comments. It took me 4 months to buy my house, it was a straightforward chain etc etc - I’m not sure why people seem to think this process would be quicker than it is. Not only is it complicated by admin but by us not owning the stadium etc so many spinning plates. I think the fact they’ve told the squad to expect a preferred bid to be announced next week and that talks with HMRC have been very positive - how are people then concluding liquidation it is?!

Not quite as many as you might think.
If you compare the two Championship winning seasons the new players in 74/75 were: Rod Thomas (22 apps) Henry Newton ( 35), Frannie Lee ( 34), Roger Davies (39), Peter Daniel (37), Bruce Rioch (42), David Nish (38) - so 7 players who contributed massively to the season.
Roy Mac was out injured for most of the season 74/75 replaced by Peter Daniel, Colin Boulton played 42 in Brian's team and also in Dave's; Ron Webster played 38 in Brian's and 24 in Dave's; Toddy 40 and 39; Archie 40 and 41; Kevin 42 and 38; Alan Hinton 38 and 8  - so 5 who played significant parts in both seasons (I would argue that Alan Hinton didn't play a large role in Dave's side)

And on that basis Kevin Hector was one of Tim Ward's players.  He joined the club in 1966. And so too Peter Daniel who signed in 65.
The only point I was making was that Dave changed Brian's side more that we perhaps remember, those of us that were there. The players he signed were big players on and off the pitch and changed the way we played significantly - not better necessarily but different. And as successful from a championship point of view.
