silverback got a reaction from angieram in Depression, anxiety, stress and other related issues
I love posts like this as men seldom "out " their feelings and sometimes the feeling of belonging is the start you need.
I met Mostyn many years back via another forum (rj) and a meet up at the Brewery Tap pub along with Mucker and others, he is a top bloke and I am so glad to hear your life is now shaping up.
As a man of a certain vintage, dealing with family issues aplenty, prostate problems, retirement issues etc, I can offer some insight into many of life's traumas as I have probably already been there.
For me retirement from a busy business, proved to be far more traumatic than I had first envisaged. Wifey encouraged me to try an allotment as I have always had a keen interest in growing stuff.
At first I was dubious thinking I was just exchanging one type of work for another. Anyways on the principle "it cant hurt to try"I got my name down and eventually got my first half plot. Two years on I have 3 further plots and a group of friends with similar age and outlooks.
The improvement in my mental and physical well being is immeasurable, and whilst I doubt it would suit some people, the principal of joining in with the group of any activity can provide a focus and an outlet. We usually have coffee together around ten each day and get stuck in to all kinds of topics. Once we have put the world to rights its back to the weeding lol.
Just hope you can all enjoy your later life as much as I am, and don't be shy about meeting people, they will welcome you warmly into the group in most cases 🦍

This will be a huge signing in my opinion, I just feel it in my bones.
had a bad stint at Stoke but is miles above this league in my opinion, cashing in the kids premium bonds as I speak to bet on him scoring Saturday 🐏

Yes set one against the other, Divide the workforce, Starve them of money and food and it's a win win, The worst for me was the miner who had to cremate his new born child after he/she died in hospital, No funds for the funeral, Couldn't get a loan, Government told him as he was on strike there was no relief, So the baby was put in another persons coffin(with permission)to be cremated.
As for Thatcher and her Government...I hated them, I was unemployed from March 81 to November 84 with 5 million others, Not a Miner but a press operator at Prestige in Derby when the company moved to Blackburn 🙄

Miners Strike-a Frontline Story...Or Thatcher the Milk Snatchers Revenge for the early 70s.
Last night on BBC 2...90mins, So I guess it will be on iPlayer soon enough, As I remember it, The UK became a Police state with travel restrictions in place across England and Wales, The Police brutality at Orgreave will stay for as long as I live, Back in 1984 the news edited most of the violence out...but not last night, Depending on your age and your political beliefs back then you chose your side...it became a Class War.

Some observations: Adams didn’t het a yellow card, while still playing his normal game - that in itself is worth celebrating. As is the rare fact that afik no Derby players were booked. The only surprise is that the fat man didn’t blather on about biased match officials!
The fans were stupendous today, and were loud from the off, and really got going in the second half. We had to be loud and get behind the team, but the Collins loss has put us into a “backs to the wall” situation, which may have had something to do with it.
I didn’t think Stevenage showed as much “thug” football as I was expecting, but their dark side is still there. It took what seemed like 30 or 40 cynical/professional fouls before a card was shown. The ref actually did fairly well, but did start giving a lot if soft decisions in Stevenage's way in the second half, almost as though he had received his half-time efl email! A couple these soft decisions close together just before Corey Smith got the fans backs up and up went the volume and Derby started to look a little more adventurous.
The goal wasn’t just Sibbo stabbing at a loose ball. Louie stepped back from his marker and signalled to Nate who duly obliged, and just one bit of skill got us 3 points instead of one. For such a “war of attrition”, it is the best I have felt at the end of match for ages.
Thank you, you Rams!

They were epic today. It was only as we entered the last 3rd of the game that we started to try and play and exploit spaces left by tired Stevenage legs, but the fans were raucous throughout, much to their credit. The players will of course respond and I suspect the support will be appreciated. It's my impression that the team and coaching staff have felt a bit unloved at times in recent weeks, so it was nice to hear the fans doing more than their fair share today and themselves getting rewarded with a late winner and a clean sheet.

The game play was dull up to the hour mark, they took the dark arts to a new level on and off the ball, thankfully Adams fought /blocked/cheated and generally was a thorn in their side also, then Smith came on,which seemed to signal far more attacking intent, culminating in a fine save by their keeper from Bird
Once the crowd joined in as well, we proper got our tails up and that sublime pass from Smith set NML on his way, and Sibley scored a peach of a goal.
MOTM was definitely Adams, though all the back four should get a shout out too.

You can only beat the team in front of you.
I've been one of Warne's fiercest critics, but we never looked like being beat today, it was just a big scrap and we won it with a last round knockout.

45 wasted mins first half
Is Warne that naive/stupid? has he/management team done their homework? what lead them to believe that 3 at the back was the way to go when they had one guy up front, does it take 3 defenders to cover that?
4-3-3 was the obvious way, or 4-4-2 but no lets persist for half an hour in a formation, that the players flounder in and then expect them to change in game time by the way.
I am firmly starting to believe that a better manager would be getting more from this squad. Just because we are second does not detract that we could easily be a country mile ahead in the table.
Loved Adams' contribution was just what we are missing, and I almost put my head in my hands when he ran out of steam, why is his fitness level so low?
