    Seddon is about 10 stone wet through, there's no way he should be out muscling NML like he did.  People can't pull Elder apart for his error and not appoint some blame for their first at Nat's door.  It was sloppy.

    Agree with this. Sitting in the West it looked like it'd be a soft free kick if he'd given it. And since the ref was letting a lot go, he was never giving that.

  2. I think it's deliberate personally. Just from the way the sprinklers were used at half time until you could see small puddles on the surface.

    For the record, I know nothing about groundskeeping, it's just how it seems to me.

    I get what you are saying and I agree with it. But did Bird really win the ball much really? What is it with Bird why does he get so much protection that’s often leads to people making false stats up to protect his abjectivity?
    Over 20 years I’ve never seen anything like it with regards to over ratedness

    In terms of winning the ball:

    Joint most interceptions last night of any player and joint most ball recoveries by Derby players (Joe Powell had one more).

    So he seems to win it plenty.

    I mean, call it 'false stats' if you want, but that just seems like a defence mechanism for not having to change your mind.

    For me he passes the stats test and the eye test. He goes about his job and does it well most weeks. I think the bigger issue is, Warne wants to play two centrally and both the ones he uses are more suited to being part of a three. Given the limitations in mobility of both players (neither have rockets strapped to their boots) they both do a fine job. Fans have spoken a lot in the past about square pegs in round holes regarding strikers playing out wide etc. but to me our midfield is a big example of it, yet it never gets mentioned. It's just, our midfield gets run through every week, well of course it does, we don't don't have the personnel to play two in the middle.

    Anyone who thinks that was 5 at the back at the beginning of the game needs to get off FIFA and start watching some real football.

    I've heard it is possble for players other than full backs to take throw-ins.

    I haven't got any summer rumours so I'll shut up now!

    Will let former professional centre back Shaun Barker know that next game. 👍  (Well being pedantic, he said 3 at the back.)

    FWIW, I felt it was a three too, practically the same as we have been playing previously. NML just played the Ward role, obviously worse than Ward would have, so got a LOT of cover.

    Realiatically, I would only ve giving contracts immediately to Cashin, Bird, Sibley, Tommo, Wildsmith and DRobinson. The others would only be extended based on performances.

    The EFL imposed restrictions have resulted in a number of our promising youngsters being stuck on short term deals, and in the cases of Bird and Sibley, this is the first summer we've been able to offer them new deals since they signed their current ones.

    They're the six I mentioned on Derby's Twitter post this morning about Rooney's extension. Makes sense to get it done, even if it doesn't work out long term for any of them, it's little lost with money made on a sale. If they do all pan out, they are safely ours or at least money spinners. You'd have thought too that most, if not all, of them will be or already are contributors to the squad.

    Get it done!

    It's not an off the peg design though, the bits in the shoulder were specifically designed for use by us and I don't think I've seen another kit with the same collar design. There's some sort of print in the fabric too so it's not just plain white.

    By all means be disappointed by the design but don't criticise it for being something it isn't.

    It's not going to have been the cheapest option, simply because it has something unique to us on it besides the club badge.

    Unless I'm wrong and  you can find it in their Teamwear catalogue of course, THESE are off the peg...

    https://www.umbro.co.uk/customer-care/brochure

    The kit on the main picture on pg. 22 in the brochure should have been the kit.

    Am alright with the one we have mind.

    Wild guesses (and ignoring the names you guess at):

    2 = Cox

    9 = Dajaune Brown

    11 = Nunn

    17 = Gough

    20 = Wheeldon

    No idea who any of them are, only that 11 wasn't Nunn. (I appreciate you said wild guesses, as you probably weren't at the game).

    As an aside: Solomon got taken off at half time I think because of the mistake for the goal, they had him running pitch lengths when the team came back out. ?

    Also: @Stuniversesee you get about a bit as well. ? (I'm ben_champ from SI forums)

    f**** sake, a day of refreshing for nothing! To be fair, now Kirchner has taken over funding, the time pressure isn’t quite so big. So long as we’re out of admin by the end of this month, we should be ok.

    Only problem at the minute is that as of now domestic clubs can start officially offering contracts to our players that are out of contract at the end of this month.

    That said, if anyone is planning to make an offer for any of those players, they'd have been talking to them already anyhow.

    Does mean CK can stop to the end of his golf tournament with Bangkok being about 6 hours in front of us. Back midmorning Monday just in time to sign the papers. That will please that little company organising the tournament

    A RAM CO

    I am late seeing this this, but CK doesn't need to stay to the end of the tournament really. The team element of it finishes on Saturday, so feasibly he could jet back before Monday.

    I expect that to be the approach he'd take if CK drops out - if he can do a deal on the stadium, Q either deal with his low bid or push us into liquidation - at which point MA can snaffle whatever is left for even less.

    A tough approach, but it's worth pointing out that there's only one man responsible for the creditors getting screwed and that won't be MA....

    Fully agree with the last sentence.

    I think the only reason it hasn't been the case already is that Morris maybe has a written agreement to give preferred bidders first refusal.

    But as it is, Morris doesn't need to drop his price demands because he knows if push comes to shove, he'll get his money from MA anyway.

    Because Mike Ashley has a magical solution to the stadium problem as well? Who on earth thinks Ashley will bid less for the club but quite willingly spend £22m on the ground?

    The guy is a joker I'm afraid who is NOT serious about taking us over.

    I think he wants to buy the stadium first. Then gamble on nobody else wanting to buy the club if they can't have access to the ground at least by lease (which he could then easily refuse). Then because nobody else would be interested in the club, bid the absolute minimum he can for it screwing over legitimate creditors (again). Morris wouldn't mind because he'd get his money, and Ashley would get the club he wants on the cheap, the super rich guys win again.
