Of course, Addison was much older, was a first teamer and his career had been ruined by injury and was not the player he was, whilst Ball is just starting out in his professional career. So it is completely understandable that it didn't ring any bells as it was a terrible comparison.
May Contain Nuts
Wouldn't be too fussed about Ball, bit like Severn in a way where he has come through the youth system and done very well but there are better players waiting in the wings, Richards, Thomas and especially Bennett are probably better placed for the future whereas Ball, whilst one day will no doubt be a good championship forward, at the minute has a lot of holes in his game. He has got a hell of a hammer foot on him though. I see Ball as being quite similar to Rickie Lambert, big bloke, not particularly fast but certainly has some technique and can score excellent goals. He's probably a little less mobile but I'll put that down to fitness issues. I'm sure Ball has scored a few free kicks at youth level before too but I could be making that up. Anyway, my point being that it took until Lambert was 25/26 to really start making an impression and leading the scorer charts, in leagues lower than the Championship, but when he eventually got back up to this level with Southampton he was the best striker in the league bar none. He'd learnt to use his body, like Ball needs to, but still possessed that crucial technical and goalscoring ability to become a 'complete' Championship striker. Ball may not turn out as well as Lambert, but I think he could - and in a few years I'd hate to be calling him one that got away.
Stive Pesley
Ball will score for fun in League One. I guarantee it

Alph
It'll be Ball. Will do him some good. I don't think he's great now but I reckon there's some potential there to become an established 2nd/3rd tier striker. He needs to fight that fat and get them legs going though. High maintenance player.
Ambitious
He needs to learn how to win headers and he'd become 3x more useful. A big lad like him should be putting his noggin' on things, but that area seems to be a weakness for him. As I said a lot of holes in his game, don't think he would set the world alight in league one personally, but down there I think he would be able to get into double figures given enough games. Ambitious
Just had a look at what their fans were saying, and apparently he is 'pacey' christ... 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I would love to see who would win in a 200m race between him and bucko to be awarded the slowest player on the side. bcnram
If this Keogh thing turns out to be carp then ill be more than angry as I've had enough of this building up hopes stuff from DCFC. My take on this is Keogh has a choice of a few clubs. I think the wage budget at the Rams will be very decisive. Would be very very very surprised if Keogh signs. None of this has really come from DCFC to be fair.
davenportram
'Keogh is also wanted by Cardiff City and Leeds United but a move to Pride Park would suit the Sky Blues because it is understood to involve a cash plus player sweetener – County offering the services of a current squad member with first-team experience on a long-term loan with a view to a permanent deal.' - http://www.coventryt...2746-31427377/? Long-term loan with a view to permanent deal? We wouldn't sell Ball, would we? Wonder if it's James Bailey going? View to permanent doesn't mean we have to sell or they have to buy (unless you're Jewell and lumber us with Varney for £1m) Just stick a huge price tag at the end if the season and the view to permanent becomes "we wanted him but were priced out of the deal"

I think 300k would probably be a fair price.
StaffsRam
Ball? Permanent? B4 will be having kittens! Besides the 'with a view to a permanent deal' bit, this sounds ideal for us. Decent player in, and a player getting valuable match practice down in League One.
