Donny Ram
Maybe, just maybe, people would take a little more notice of you if you didn't throw out so much abuse when someone disagrees with you. There is no indication from within the club that a contract has been offered. There is no indication from within the club that there is a problem. My own guess is that they have discussed it, but both parties are happy to get round to it once his coaching staff have had their contracts sorted - no rush as they trust each other. What I do know is that Tom Glick and Nigel Clough have a great working relationship and fully expect Nigel Clough to be here for some years to come. Fredbear73
From todays press ....Mirror i believe....so dont blame me...lol Edited to give the link http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Derby-boss-Nigel-Clough-cannot-be-new-Nottingham-Forest-manager-because-of-red-tape-article810223.html Derby manager Nigel Clough's move back to manage Nottingham Forest is off - because he does not have the proper coaching badges. Under new regulations brought in last summer, Championship clubs can only appoint bosses with A or Pro licences but Clough only has a B licence. Anyone know if there is any validity to this gem. Theres a bit more about Frank Clark already being there !!??
Cisse
Good, now we can forget the damn Forest.
Smalley Ram
So the stumbling block at the moment is Nigel wanting the contracts sorting for his management team before he signs anything. Fair enough I say but I hope that's all there is to it and it's not a case or Glick trying to give them crap deals. A page from history: Brian left over contract disputes and Sam Longson not wanting to give Peter Taylor a reasonable increase. People might not want comparisons between Nigel and Brian but one thing is for sure they are both bloody minded stubborn buggers
Wilko
Back page of the Telegraph says contract talks with Clough and staff have now started and are "going well". No timescale but deals are likely to be three years til 2014. Can't tell you any more than that, I blame Bloomfield myself

Cisse
I assume he means the Derby Telegraph, and it is quite reliable. Good to know. That is the paper that I usually buy when in there. I have got an impression it is a decent newspaper.
MrsRam
ColinBloomfield Colin Bloomfield Just interviewed Nigel Clough. He's confirmed he's in talks over new contract. Wouldn't confirm length but hear 3 year deal being discussed.
Leeds Ram
i won't be happy if a 3 year deal is given, I am not a fan of 3 year contracts in honesty, if you want to get rid if it goes south it will cost a fortune.

Shut up you miserable sod. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> We ain't got a sugar daddy and Clough has done enough to deserve a chance to finish the job. Have a look at the list being considered for Forest, do you really believe they will be that much better than him. Slowly but surely he's building a decent squad without bankrupting the club. I just don't see a credible alternative unless GSE and the "investors" suddenly start throwing £millions around.
rynny
Well where's ianm to tell us he told us so.....oh I see, so he was reading too much into an innocent article. Anyway back on topic, glad Clough is staying he is improving as a manager and is improving our team. I hope that it continues for the next 3 and half years (or more if he gets another contract after)

TelTheRam
So now will people just leave it alone and let them get on with it in their own time, instead of reading rumour and conspiracy into any and every situation.
AndyB
It's good to hear something 'from the horse's mouth'. Let's hope it's signed soon.
McRamFan
Good, glad to hear that the wheels are moving, and to be honest they probably started a little while ago. I think that we forget that under previous owners and managers all laundry was aired in public, however this set up only seem to say something when needed and not just because they feel they have to. I think more money will come, as the squad progresses and develops, it won't be silly money IMHO, rather than just one Shackell/Barker type signing it could be two or three. Progressing nice and steady. Well I hope so!!
smiffy
Clough's dad always said that contracts were not worth the paper they are written on. If Clough wants to stay, and the Yanks want him to stay whats all the fuss about.
