We will never find out if we don’t give our youngsters a chance, the last few weeks aside, Cashin shows the value in giving our talent a chance.

Brown has had a good few months in the conference, he needs to be ready as well. Just playing him because he’s young wouldn’t help him.

a loan to a higher level than last season the best plan, league two until Christmas, then league one for rest of the season.

Will get far more from that than just playing cameos for us.

Except he scores more goals....

Really trying not to get too excited, but he's promising beyond belief.

Wilson makes it 2-1... love him too.

Way more urgency and effort, caught them on their heels.

He’s going to make Ebou very familiar with the bench this season I think..

He’s young etc etc…

But in the time he’s had on the pitch pre-season he’s been invisible… seemed to find it hard to get involved in the game.

A prospect for sure but a season in L2 would do him the world of good..

Couldn’t agree more, some people seem to think just playing him will turn him into a superstar. Will be interesting to see how he does this season.

Well the good news is that we’ve got a 4-3-3 formation fixed and a strong midfield in Ozoh-Kenzo-Osborn even with Ebou in the stands and Thompson on the bench.

Mendez-Laing and Nelson obvious champions quality starters too. Hopefully the saviour arrives in time for Friday in goal.

Cash and Wilson likely also there. That just leaves question marks over 2 of the front free and the first choice left back.

meanwhile was keeping an eye on the leeds pre season game too - they looked great up front but Bogle went down off the ball and helped off after lengthy treatment.

It is a strange position that we appear to value other sides young players above our own “home grown” players.

Ozoh has had good performances in the Premier League vs some of the best teams in the world. Brown did really well for Gateshead.

There is no comparison currently.

Totally agree if we add a good creative 8 or an out n out 10 the 6 midfield options will looks very strong.

Well, well, well... Pre-season draws to a close with a win against la Liga opposition. Not too shabby, if taken at face value!

Lots still to work on and no doubt Warne and the coaches will already have moved on in their minds to the season opener against Blackburn, but a deal of encouragement to be gleaned too. Hopefully the keeper issued is resolved early next week, after which I'd like to see us target another striking option, but for the most part, I think we have assembled a decent unit and with the promise of further recruits, I'm quite hopeful.

Ozoh looked class. Osbourne and Kenzo did well. Fozzie his usual self. We will need to keep the ball better when under pressure. Coming back for too easily form a defence that can’t find midfield and no hold up strikers …
